Jameis Firing With Velocity At Practice (W/Video)

More great news on Jameis Winston’s injury

UPDATED WITH VIDEO: All hail the football gods.

Great news coming from One Buc Palace late this morning. In fact, the bruised shoulder of America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, is showing little signs of weakness.

Heroic JoeBucsFan.co video reporter Rock Riley (@realrockriley), whose video on the home page earlier today is a must-see, had his arm pelted by a laser from Jameis at practice. Rock was not injured on the play.

The Bucs should be at full strength in Buffalo, including Kwon Alexander (though Joe will still believe that when he sees it).

It’s time to play like a playoff team.

See a video montage below of Jameis practice throws this morning. Practice was only open to media for 30 minutes, as is typical.

  5. Charter Season Ticket Holder Says:

Jameis,”Firing With Velocity” has never been a problem. Hitting receivers has continued to be a problem! If we do not make the playoff’s this year, his 3rd year why can we expect anything to change going forward with Jameis?

  6. 813bucboi Says:

this game will come down to running the ball and managing the clock….2 things dirk is impossible of doing….GO BUCS!!!!

  7. Big Stinky Says:

Must be OK! Still can’t throw the deep ball. Dirk must think he’s ready to go. Don’t know why I can’t wait to see this game, hope it’s worth it. Go BUCS!

  8. eightonetree Says:

haha you can hear mike smith yelling at vernon hargraves in the back round

  9. Pickgrin Says:

“Rock was not injured on the play.”

LOL – shake it off Rock – the team needs ya.

Glad to see Jameis throwing with zip behind it. Looks like he’ll be OK this week.

Anthem – guess you think we should let Fitz start the rest of the season. Or perhaps bring back Glennon to be the starter? Get a clue….

  10. SOEbuc Says:

Why didn’t you catch that Rock?!! I got you on my fantasy team!

  11. SOEbuc Says:

    @eightonetree

All players get yelled at in practice but that is funny as hell. THAT’S THE WRONG SIDE!!! VHIII was probably on the other side of the field that he was suppose to be on.

    THAT HAD ME ROLLING!!!!….GO BUCS!!!

Leave it to “Bucs anthem” aka Bucs antagonist to already start the hate. Yeah he overthrows guys. I’ll take that over underthrow any day of the week. Kid is 23 and is still learning.

  14. big serious Says:

i had to listen but yes he was…sounds like he said get your ass to the side line vernon

  15. Mike Johnson Says:

Jameis firing with velocity? Hot deyham! But is he firing with accuracy? Will he fire with accuracy come Sunday?

  16. RustyRhinos Says:

My prayer for the messiah is that he has this velocity during Sunday’s game against the Bills. Where the messiah is hitting his receivers in stride not above below or close by them. When I watched the highlights of Djax I seen a QB put the ball time and time again in his hands 25-35 yards down field. Is this something we can pray happens to our QB & WE.
    Go! BUCS!

    yup,

you got me all figured out kid

  18. Rayjay1122 Says:

Playoffs??? LOL. I have lost all faith in this team. Don’t get me wrong, I am still a Bucs fan and want them to win but it is time for them to show me. Put up or shut up time. Enough excuses. Until then, I will just observe without any expectations. Hopefully they leave their clown suits in Tampa and go to Buffalo prepared to look like a professional football team.

  19. Rayjay1122 Says:

Before the koolaide kids start the negativity bashing, my personal issues with the Bucs has to do with loafing and not being prepared to do their job. I will not support guys that are not trying and playing hard. So, do we just have poor talent or guys who are just collecting pay checks?

  20. vince picolo Says:

Kid is 23 years old and will wind up with more TD passes before age 24 than any QB in the history of the league. Wonder what he could do if he was any good.

  21. NFLNut Says:

^ Jameis already has more career passing yards and passing TDs at his current age than Brady, Rodgers, Favre, Brees and reigning MVP Matt Ryan had COMBINED at the same age!

Jameis is on pace to be the Wayne Gretzky of the NFL and utterly OWN the record books one day … people who hate on him due little more than expose themselves as clowns …

  22. Bucsfanman Says:

Wayne Gretzky hoisted a Cup or two in his day. The records mean nothing if we don’t win games.

  23. Broy34isTiredofComplainersLikeAnthem Says:

Never said I have u figured out anthem. But it’s quite clear I’m your message and theme is negativity. Period. Gonna deny it now?

  24. unbelievable Says:

^ Was just about to say that Bucsfanman…

Stats are for losers. All anyone gives a sh!t about are wins.

  25. gilhealy Says:

Unbelievable, you may only give a darn about wins, but I enjoy watching a young man work hard to become great at what he dreams of. And with only 4 years of major football under his belt, I’d say Jameis is way ahead of schedule. But you and others think Jameis is a finished product, so why pull for him. My guess is you and Bucsfanman as well as most commenting were fully versed in your career by the time you hit your twenties. Most impressive. But, I can fully enjoy watching a HOF career unfold. Whether here, or elsewhere, Jameis will be hell to deal with in the years to come. He’s got 7 years until he hits his prime. I can’t wait to tell the stories he’ll provide. Yet you and others who accomplished all you could by 23 will never appreciate his growth. Shame.

  26. Big Stinky Says:

Wonder if that is true what NFLNut said about the combined yards of those 5 players? I know Brady & Rodgers started late but the other 3 must have stayed in college longer. How else is that going to happen? Oh yeah, we abandon the run because we are ALWAYS playing from behind because of his SLOW starts. Give me a break! Enough about his inflated passing yards EVERY year! The season is STILL early and he hasn’t looked that great, even in the Giants game. At least I am NOT blaming him for us losing the last 2 games because of his INT’s this year. In that respect he’s playing better lately. But stop with the GARBAGE stats he gets ’cause we are ALWAYS playing from behind. I would trade him for Wentz in a heartbeat! Look how much faster he is progressing than JW3. Hope I have been wrong about Winston but I have seen enough bad QB’s in Tampa to last me a lifetime. And I hope this ends up being his year. No more excuses! Playoffs or Bust! Go BUCS!

  27. Captain Big Stick Says:

Where was the velocity? He was throwing, yes, but I wouldn’t say with velocity.. the only one I saw that looked like he threw it hard hit Rock. I am starting JW13 on my fantasy team anyways so eff it.. go Jaboo!

  28. Big Stinky Says:

Oh yeah, I’ve got some stats for you. How about 3 opening drives for TD’s in 37 games? WOW! He is GREAT! OR, how about 8 passing TD’s in the first quarter of said games? He had 2 of them in the same game this year, against the Giants I think. Here’s another nugget for you! He was barely over 100 yards through 3 quarters against the Patriots. SWEET, huh? Trust me, I am going to remember these stats. How can I ignore them? We’ll talk later! Go BUCS!

  29. Nole4JabooANDdBucs Says:

Amazing…these have to be posters, not fans who once they found out Jameis is playing they cranked the hate rhetoric up…SMH…

Football is a business…why would the OWNERS sit their investment on the bench and play his back up, if he CAN PLAY!

aaaand good QB’s is not that easy to comeby…notice I did not even say great QB’s which is definitely not easy to comeby!

Nor has the Bucs QB success been anything…hence is why we have Jameis! Even if he turns out to be just a good QB he has some characteristics that a replacement can’t duplicate.

Listen to his team mates, better yet listen to his back up.

“It’s Jameis team….Jameis is the heart of the team”

But it still takes the other players help to win!

    GO BUCS☠

  30. sorryitriggeredyou Says:

Yep keep playing grab a$$ boys, keep d!cking around.

  31. PRBucFan Says:

Just curious if the people that always points out Jameis’s age do the same for VHIII?

  32. NFLNut Says:

^ No … primarily because DBs are a lot like RBs … not a ton of thinking goes into their position so age isn’t as big a detriment to them as it is to QBs … you never hear anyone say a team can’t win a title with a young DB but everyone knows that unless a team is absolutely stacked, they are not winning a title with a young QB … football, like most sports is actually an older man’s game where veteran teams usually win the chip
