Jameis Says He “Absolutely” Wants To Play With Adrian Peterson

April 17th, 2017

Wanted

America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, waved quite a flag for one of the greatest running backs of all time today at One Buc Palace.

Yes, Joe asked Jameis about what he learned from training this winter with Adrian Peterson.

Jameis said Peterson’s work ethic was “eye-opening” and a real learning experience for him as he trained with Peterson at what Jameis said was Peterson’s facility in Houston.

Jameis wasn’t the only one there from Tampa. Most of the Bucs receiving corps was there, too.

“Getting [our receivers] around greatness, A. P. was able to work with us some,” Jameis said. “And just for them to be able to see what greatness is. It helps us. It helps build us. It helps motivate us to see a man so, a man that’s Adrian Peterson and let our players get around him and just kind of feel his presence and grow.

“Would you like to play with Adrian Peterson?” Joe asked Jameis.

“Absolutely,” Jameis replied. “I don’t know no one that wouldn’t. Again, it’s out of my league. I can only talk about how much I learned from him and how he helped me this offseason.”

So there you have it. Jameis wants Peterson and thinks he will make the entire team better, just by his presence alone.

Interesting times for Jason Licht, who likely has heard his franchise quarterback lobby for A.P — for weeks.

So Jameis wants AP and Cook. Why he gotta be so greedy? Lol

  2. tmaxcon Says:

Peterson would be great addition. Every time the overrated ice cream man disappears in the second half, petterson can grab a stick and bend her over his knee for some discipline…

  3. DB55 Says:

Been saying from day 1 sign AP and Martin draft Cook and Mixon. If you gonna do it, DO IT BIG THEN!!!!

Sadly I think Jameis is just wasting his time here, TB not ready for greatness. Jaboo will win Championships in NY though in about 2 years. Screenshot this!!!

  4. DB55 Says:

    Tmax

At least he won’t have to worry about injuring his pnis during the beating. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

  5. Fred E. Buc Says:

Wasn’t Jameis working out with Louis Murphy too? Well, I doubt he’s coming back…also. Sometimes Jameis can’t have everything Jameis wants.

Peterson doesn’t seem to be a good fit in Tampa, but I’d not complain if they brought him in.

  6. Kobe Faker Says:

These questions sound like the TJ Rives Kwon Alexander show

  7. Dirks GreatGranpappy Says:

The real db55 would be ashamed that you are using that handle. So jameis will leave the Bucs in two years and get signed by ny and win a super bowl his first year there?

Draft cook and mixon and sign ap and keep doug? Smh

    Embarrassing

  8. webster Says:

    @ db55

If you have not, you need to listen to the gerald mccoy press conference today. He talked about how he has not lead this team properly. He talked about his disappearing acts in the 4th qtr. He talked about how 3 credible sources at the pro bowl pointed these facts out to him and he has now accepted the critique and vows to change. Funny, many call people such as yourself a hater of mccoy etc, but he is validating what posters such as yourself have been saying for years. As i have said, he is a good player but nowhere near great. I laugh when people say sapp had rice etc. No sapp made culpepper, ahanotu, marcus jones way before rice arrived. Listen to his press conference. Joe will you write an article asking the gmc “haters” for forgiveness?

  9. Joeypoppems Says:

Yea I dont really get it either. They say we need more guys like Jameis to change the culture because of “quitters” like GMC. Then they say Jameis will leave for money, essentially quitting on the team, the same reason they hate GMC. Oh well, to each his own.

  10. BuccoDav Says:

I can’t imagine Jameis ever saying, “No, I don’t want to play with (insert name here)”…

  11. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

C’mon man don’t tell me people actually jackin handes man..

  12. Joeypoppems Says:

***They say he will leave because we wont be winning***

    Thats what I shouldve said.

  13. DB55 Says:

    Webster

I know what’s up, you know what’s up, Tmax knows what’s up and like I’ve always said a hand full of JBF posters know what’s up. The rest of these fools especially Hawaii are a$$-clowns that don’t know jack chit.

Take Dirks Granpappy above as exhibit A.

  14. ndog Says:

DB55 just go away with that garbage!

  15. Bucnjim Says:

Yep always appreciated Hawaiian’s passion and his input reguarding the Bucs but the immature name calling turned me off. For us fans it is all opinion anyway unless of course it is coming straight from the horses mouth! Never called him names or soft but only questioned his leadership which he is doing right now HIMSELF!

  16. KingBuc17 Says:

Only for the right price which should be a one-year $3.5 MM prove it deal

  17. Eric Says:

I am suspicious of this type of thing since the blocking icon trained with Jerry Rice one summer.

  18. ZZBucs!!! Says:

General Managers manage, coaches coach and players play…..So would be much better if Jameis does his job that is to play and not doing someone elses job…..Seems to me that this generations of sportsman are forgetting some basic things……And I dn’t think that Peterson , Martin, and drafting two RB makes ANY sense at all……..

  19. 813bucboi Says:

    so Jameis wants AP
    VHG wants cook

    who does Licht listen to?……

    EITHER….DRAFT DONTE FOREMAN….GO BUCS!!!!

  20. 813bucboi Says:

    *NEITHER

  21. Pickgrin Says:

If Peterson wants to come here on the cheap ($3Mish and maybe some high end performance incentives) then I don’t care who we draft. Bring AP in and let him compete for a spot. Like Jameis said – APs presence alone and his history of absolute greatness in the NFL is worth something. I bet Peterson can still tote that rock pretty well. Who doesn’t want to sign a 1st ballot HOFer if both sides think he can play and he wants to be a Buccaneer and is willing to sign a team friendly deal??

  22. DBS Says:

I look real close at a repeat SB winning coach. He let Blount go. If Belicheat can’t find any use for him that alone should tell you something.

  23. Broy34 Says:

Db55 you’re a moron. Truly. Jameis will be a buc his whole career. I’m appalled at your stupidity

  24. Broy34 Says:

813 foreman is like the 5th best back in this class. Stop looking at stats and watch the film

  25. DB55 Says:

If I only had a dollar Broy34, yet I’m constantly being vindicated. But please continue….

  26. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Licht was quick to point out that “We don’t draft who the media or that fans want, we draft who we think is best for the team.”

    Sorry, Nole. Cook is out.

  27. bucs_365 Says:

On this one, I don’t care what Jameis wants. Jameis isn’t the GM, and he doesn’t know what’s best for the team. We got him DJax. If Peterson was such a great idea, explain why he hasn’t been signed by anyone yet…

  28. Broy34 Says:

Being vindicated. I’d be willing to bet my life earnings Winston stays in Tampa his entire career. He already stated it. Literally loves his area. Joe do me a favor and look up the “im gonna retire a Buc” article. Please and thanks. Buts it’s nice and sunny I’m gonna spend time with my wife instead of trying to act like I’m Derrick Brooks. And while some of you are morons I’m the realist that knows what I’m talking about to the point where Joe said “broy I talked to an NFL guy who said the same. If foreman is a dud start submitting resumes to gm’s. ” But yeah a moron who’s being called out is correct. Can’t wait to watch Winston get enshrined as a buc

  29. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    DB55 Says
“Sadly I think Jameis is just wasting his time here, TB not ready for greatness. Jaboo will win Championships in NY though in about 2 years.”

So…you are actually a NY fan? Not a Bucs fan?

  30. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I won’t discount the possibility that Jameis could EVENTUALLY play elsewhere. It has happened to lots of the greats. Manning. Favre. Brees. I could go on.

But it won’t happen for a very long time unless he takes a nose dive.

  31. Pa Privateer Says:

I am fine with Adrian Peterson and late round RB.

I like Joe Williams RB, Utah. He is very fast and could return kicks. The Bucs gave him one of the 30 coveted Private Meetings. He could be had in 6/7th Round probably but I like him.

    5’11” 210 4.41

Imagine this: Sign Adrian Peterson and then draft Williams. Rounds 1-6 could be spent on WR, TE, FS, DE, OL and NT

Random Note: The Bucs have scouted a lot of Utah players this year.

    • Isaac Asiata, G/C, Utah (WOR)
    • Garett Bolles, OT, Utah (WOR)
    • Sam Tevi, OT, Utah (WOR)
    • Joe Williams, RB, Utah (PRI)

All of them have gotten private workouts and Williams got a Private meeting. I predict we have a Utah player on offense next year.

  32. Pa Privateer Says:

I could care less if AP becomes a part time player by the end of the season and the next 2 years. Martin is already gone for the first 3 games. Having a veteran talent to mentor, his big play ability, his powerful, his every down capability and having short yardage back sitting on the bench would be huge. Yes he is getting older, but he could be used in the 4th quarter, injury insurance as depth, and as a part time player we could extend his career as he mentors the younger players. I understand he would want to be a feature back, but he could be ideal to have around for the youth movement.

  33. James Walker Says:

It is not what Jameis said, it is how he said it. If he didn’t want AP he wouldn’t have said it like that.

  34. NFLNut Says:

If Bucs get Dalvin they pass on A.P. imho … if they draft Christian Mac or Marlon Mack … or maybe even Mixon I think A.P. is still a distinct possibility.

  35. NFLNut Says:

DB55 … you seem as nutty about sports as you do about politics.\

Jameis is going to be winning SB’s in NEW YORK in 2 years? How ridiculous.

The Bucs have him locked up for the next 3 years at least, and probably 4 years with that 4th year being a franchise tag … so, even if Jameis gets sick of Tampa’s organization I think the soonest he will be able to leave is in the spring of 2020.

Also, Jameis doesn’t strike me as someone seeking the limelight, he strikes me as a captain that will go down with the ship if need be, someone who sincerely loves all his teammates and will basically kill himself trying to win wherever he’s at … Cam Newton, Kirk Cousins, Colin Kap … maybe even Luck or Stafford might bolt a losing situation but I honestly don’t see Jameis doing that.

  36. Defense Rules Says:

Maybe I’m wrong, but I think y’all are missing Joe’s most important line: ‘Jameis wasn’t the only one there from Tampa. Most of the Bucs receiving corps was there, too.’ Let that sink in for a minute. How many NFL teams do you think can say the same thing right now? My guess is … only one, the Bucs. Jameis & his receivers working to improve their chemistry on the field. Impressive. These guys want to win and are putting it all on the line to make it happen. We’re getting close.

  37. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Mike Evans. D. Jackson. Freddie Martino. D Walker.

These are the WRs that worked out with Winston this off season. I think there was a 5th…but not sure who it was.

  38. NFLNut Says:

    ^ Josh Huff, no?

  39. Gilhealy Says:

    yep, Huff as well.

  40. Dougyballs Says:

Its a shame that gmc is not able to live up to Reggie White status The horror

The guy has just been top 5 DT the last how ever many years but because he might not be the next HOF buccaneer he is the ” ice cream man ” You sirs sound like a buntch of clowns. I have met him in person and what a beast of a man. Damn sure know not one of you idi0t$ has the balls to call him the ” ice cream man “. If you caught him one on one. So sit behind your keybords and keep up the great insight clowns

    Ty man I’m passionate.

Your math doesn’t register. Jameis is on his rookie contract which is 5 years right? This will be his 3rd year in the league so after this 2017 season he’s got 2 more years or a third if franchised. Okay 2020 it’s is then. Dam we getting old. Where are the flying cars and teleporting machines?

  42. tmaxcon Says:

    Bonzi

Give it up with the CFL bum.

  43. Trubucfan22 Says:

I havent heard of a player that Jameis wouldnt want to play with. He is constantly upselling everyone he talks about. Especially when it comes to people he considers friends. Jameis is just a positive person, you won’t see him trashing any other player.

  44. Bucnut2 Says:

Licht made it REALLY clear that he doesn’t factor in JW or any other player’s opinion. REALLY bad news for the Joes and all of you other “what JW wants, JW gets fans.” News Flash, Licht doesn’t care.

  45. TheDeuce Says:

Cmon Bucs fans – you can’t let ignorance – like what DB55 is spewing out – bother you…I mean cmon, yes – let’s use our first 2 draft picks on Cook and the much maligned Mixon…oh, and yes let’s sign AP and keep Dougie…I mean cmon, that made me giggle that any individual would actually post such non-sense….last time I checked there was only 1 football to handoff…but following that logic we should trade our picks for 2 good quarterbacks to sit the bench…just funny how little some folks know about my near and dear Bucs!!…AP isn’t coming, we will draft a RB in the first 4 rounds but in the first I hope we pick the best player available amongst these 4 positions – RB, WR,TE or DE….that would make a true Bucs fan happy…

  46. teacherman777 Says:

    @DB55

Doug Martin, Adrian Peterson, Joe Mixon, Jaquizz Rogers, Charles Sims and Peyton Barber

What are u trying to do?

    Win a Superbowl?

I wish we had the deepest RB crew in the NFL.

Last year should have been a lesson.

RB depth is vital to success!!

  47. Capt.Tim Says:

I didnt believe there was much chance of it.

But the way Jameis stated it, with such assurance . . .
Hes been in someones office at OneBuc

I guess we’ll be seeing Adrian Petersen in Red and Pewter.
