Jameis And The Lightning

The magic of “America’s Quarterback,” Jameis Winston, rubbed off on the Lightning. Jameis was in attendance last night.

So as Joe settled in to watch David Letterman’s final show last night (Joe is feeling old. Eddie Van Halen is over 60 and Letterman is retired. Damn.), Joe’s Twitter feed blew up with photos of “America’s Quarterback,’ Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston, in a luxury box at the thrilling Lightning overtime win.

Man, the power of Jameis — rubbing off on the Lighting.

Like Mike Mayock says in the Bucs’ TV commercial highlighting Jameis that aired during the WFLA-TV Channel 8 newscast last night, “Whatever it is, he has it.”

And no, Jameis wasn’t just watching the Bolts. He was there getting work done. Notice this Twitter post from LPGA golf star and cutie Michelle Wie:

Jameis is the biggest thing to hit the Tampa Bay sports scene since Chucky came to town, maybe since Keyshawn Johnson arrived. He’s a flat out star.

Bucs fans have pined for years for national recognition. Well, for those folks, here is your answer. It’s Jameis!

Doesn’t seem like women are running for their lives now that Winston is in tampa….sorry Winston haters the guy is polarizing and as long as his play on the field matches his personality it wont change. Michelle Wie really is a cutie

  2. Buccfan37 Says:

I watched the progress of the game on the same gadget I use here. It was touch and go right up to the Rangers goal to send it to OT. I had enough and called it a night hoping to wake up to a win this a.m., man this team is exciting!

  3. drdneast Says:

Winston is either extremely bright or his heart really is in the right place since he is hitting all the right bases during the offseason.
What’s next. Will we be seeing Winston in California cleaning off baby birdlife soaked in sweet crude.
    Keystone pipeline anyone.
Do you like your corn soaked in oil or butter before you eat it.

  4. Patrick in VA Says:

Jameis is the answer to everything. How do you solve the Bucs’ woeful streak of bad seasons? Jameis. How do you solve the ISIS problem? Jameis. What’s the square root of 45? Jameis.

  5. DieHard_Bob Says:

Hey Joe, Why don’t you take a couple cold showers and cool down the man crush until “Prince” Jameis actually takes the field in a real game. He won’t be dubbed “King” Jameis until he helps deliver at least a winning season if not a playoff victory or two. I wish him well but let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves.

  6. Patrick in VA Says:

That’s an awfully lukewarm take on one of the biggest acquisitions the Bucs have made in a long time. I expected a bit more from a handle like “DieHard_Bob”

she probably tweeted that before the angry pirate

I get your love Joe but come on! So his magic was there throughout the Lightnings whole season? They would’ve won with or without him being there.
I guess that’s why the 49ers won that Super Bowl XXIII, because John Candy was in the stands.

  9. Kalind Says:

Guys. Do you think this is serious? We can’t have fun w this whole thing?? Pointing out that Jameis is literally (not the Kardashian literally, I mean the real literally) not magic is…kinda a waste of time, don’t you think??

Joe (and I) are just having fun with this and enjoying it. Chill.

  10. MTM Says:

The Bucs are off season champions every year. I’m glad Winston is entrenching himself in the local community but that will go by the way side if sticks up the joint.

  11. OAR Says:

“Guys. Do you think this is serious?”
Yes. Considering this content is almost every other article on here for the last 3 months(and continues). Don’t kid yourself. There is no doubt that after reading comments for that long too, there are some on here that think he is “magic”.

  12. Jman Says:

Joe shows his ignorance. Don’t disrespect the immense talent of theLightning by crediting Jameis for the win. Clown

  13. Dewey Selmon Says:

Just wait until Jameis starts hanging with Kayne, Jay Z the Kardashians and the man formally known as bruce jenner.

Hilarious that was the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw some of the Jameis pictures on Twitter last night. Why are the women not running??? Where is the National Guard and Police SWAT teams to protect the women of the bay… Seems odd to me that the Tampa PD is not forming a save the women task force just for Jameis…

I’d be more of afraid of Glennon’s uncoordinated arse falling on or tripping a women over Jameis causing harm to a woman.

  15. canadian bucsfan Says:

I really hope a lot of you fellow bucs fans are appreciating the hockey that Tampa Bay is playing. This is some very Goodd hockey!

  16. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

He is”Magic”,if you don’t like that type of commentary why come to this site and have your feelings bothered. I’m sure every team in the league has a similar one. The first time any of us had a chance to see this young man play he completed almost every pass. Perfect season, national champion,Heisman trophy winner count’em one lost on his collegiate resume. I’m sorry, how would you define magic?

  17. Patrick in VA Says:

@ Canadian – I’m sure the lightning have a fan site. Hockey could not be less interesting to me. That’s why I’m on a football site

  18. Joe Says:

How do you solve the ISIS problem? Jameis.

    Love it!

  19. LargoBuc Says:

Jameis hasnt even started his rookie season yet. Hopefully the Lightning can rub off on, not only Jameis, but the whole Bucs orginization. Bucs and Rays should take notes on what the Lightning are doing. Hopefully Jameis can be a not only a professional but a local star like Stamkos or Longoria. I think he can and hope he will but lets not get ahead of ourselves.

  20. OAR Says:

Who said anything about feelings being bothered? I think just it’s funny how he is “magic” for everything! Sorry but he is not “magic”. Just my opinion. I have mine and you have yours.
BTW Why are your feelings so hurt by someone that is NOT as enamored with him?

  21. OAR Says:

“Perfect season, national champion,Heisman trophy winner count’em one lost on his collegiate resume.”
    That was two years ago.

  22. OAR Says:

    Largo
    Exactly!

  23. WS99 Says:

My buddy was sitting right next to him last night in the north party suite. Idk about you guys but I’m stoked. He looks like he’s gotten stronger too. Developing from a boy into a man. And let me tell you his girlfriend is a beautiful young lady.

  24. Espo Says:

I don’t know about you guys but I’d be afraid to hook up with anyone after that one whore ruined him. Dating I guess is different but I wouldn’t be able to enjoy the single night life again.

  25. Ray Rice Says:

    What is “IT”:

    Game on the field- Check
Game off the field- Too easy
    Money- No problem
    Power- He runs the city
    Winner- Check the profile
    Personality- We can’t get enough
    Leader- Ask Jimbo
    Family man- Ask his parents
    Idol- Talk to Jonah P
    Human- Learned from his mistakes

Etc… Etc… Etc… May not be soon but he is going to turn this franchise around.

  27. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Jameis gave a shout out to FLGA line for winning an award the other nite they are now bucs fans and planning on hitting every bucs game….the dude is electric…hope the OL holds up and the next coach turns the corner with jabo

  28. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

OAR there is a long list of you that doubt him,for every one of you rest assured there will be one of us that stand on the ready to defend him and refute your dispostion in relation to this young man. This on line battle won’t stop my friend.

  29. canadian bucsfan Says:

    @ patrick
Sorry to have upset you by simply showing a bit of excitement for another Tampa Bay sports team that is doing really well. The team name was in the headline of the story. If I could give you the 7 min back it took to read that sentence I would bud.

  30. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

D@$! I love the way you broke “It” down to’em Ray Rice. S@$! was masterful.

I’ll stand by my claim to follow another team, primarily because I am in S. FL, my daughter is a Dolphins fan and I just don’t see this panning out. I just can’t sit through another season and pay to watch what I believe will be a failure.”

The way I see it, he only only needs to worry about actual Bucs fans accepting him. Who cares what Dolphins fans think.

Also, is this a Dolphins site? Something doesn’t add up.

  32. OAR Says:

    Nole
Too funny you have to “defend him” just because I don’t think he is magic or the reason the Lightning are kicking a$$ this year.
Its ok though. I understand when love runs so deep it can skew feelings.

I do not know if this statement is in reference to article it is posted in, but in case the statement is related to the article, YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT MICHELLE WIE IS KOREAN! Unless you have no idea who she is of course.
