You know. It’s Friday. Afternoon.
5 o’clock somewhere.
I’m done for the week.
So I’ve been binge watching everything Reuben Bain.
I’ve arrived at one conclusion that I think will count in the end.
The dude has muscles in his fingernails.
‘Nuff said.

I am look to the season. I think it will be a race to 8 wins. Early or late. We will again compete in NFC South. It will be close. The Bucs are an average NFL team. Average staff, average coaches, average players, average owners. More than 8 or 9 wins an above average outcome for our Bucs. This draft is average middle of the road. I only hope the Bucs are not regressing while the rest of NFC South is progressing. This year Grover predicts…..MORE OF THE SAME. No we are not going to Super Bowl as the hype will soon predict. We will fight for NFC South….it will be close if we are lucky since the retention of Bowles by the Glazers….This is the Grover prediction and I do not care what anyone else thinks….50/50

No one cares what HC Grover has to say either so I think it all works out chief.

Hey 28.3 perfect season? HHAHAAH

28.3 has zero counter argument or prediction. ZERO credibility.

Remember Grover, only Pom Pom waiving and kool-aid drinking is considered rational thought for most on these message boards.
Don’t listen to the lemmings when they try to stifle all dissenting opinions.
Keep up the good work sir. I applaud your commitment to the truth.
The problem is we accept what our eyes and brain tell us is happening in front of us.
As if going all Mega fan boy spraying our shorts over every move or decision from the “brain-trust” will somehow make a difference in the inevitable outcome.
Like you said, 8-9 wins is the cieling foe El-Bozo.

Maybe McCoy making those comments caused Bain to fall to us?

And this is a 12 or 13 win football team if we can largely avoid the injury bug. There’s no reason we can’t replicate the 2024 season on offense and dramatically enhance the defense with all the positive personnel changes. Evans and LVD were already not playing that great so we can replace them with above average players and not see a big drop in production. Anzalone+Trotter>>>2025 LVD+SVD. More Jalen McMillan and Hurst >= Evans was in 2025. Everyone else we brought in is *at least* slightly better than who they replaced. Defense should be *way* better against the run and quite a bit better against the pass. Altogether, avoid injuries and we will win a lot of games!

The moment Bowles was retained shows exactly how low the expectations are for this team. Winning isn’t important but since a legendary draft is coming next season, this could all work out for the Bucs. Mike left because the Bucs are dedicated to winning and putting the possible players on the field.
How can the culture get changed while retaining the same HC and QB? Smh…but a rookie will do it? As good as Sapp and Brooks were they still needed a great HC and QB to get a ring.
Whos the best player on the Bucs? Wirfs? Lol…this is a 5 win team max. Look at Bowles energy and look at the teams energy and preparedness, its the same. Nonexistent.

Amen Bee. Preach on. The Pom Pom waivers need hear it.
Some are already claiming this is a 12 to 13 win team.
Just like the offseason in 2025. The insanity reached a fever pitch.
If you predicted anything lass than 12 wins you were shouted down as a heretic.
News flash! Bowles is still in charge. A SB is off the schedule until he’s gone.

I like the suggestion that was made in the broadcast for the Bucs to run a 5-2 defense.
The team is obviously structured for a 3-4 defense. But, I am afraid that they blew it with the Trotter pick.
So, I would like to see the Bucs try starting drives with a 5-2 Monster defense if the starters are all healthy.
I would put Robinson at NT, Vea at RT, Kancey at LT, Bain at RE, and Diaby at LE with Anzalone as the Mike and – call me crazy – Scott as the Will.
With so much beef up front, I think that they could get away with Scott as a Will/Nickel.
And, they could scheme some plays where Scott is mismatched to let a receiver run with a robber swooping down on the receiver.
I would hide it during the preseason, and break it out at the start of games trying to go all out to get a three and out while the big guys are fresh.
If the drive continues, they probably need to drop back to their base to rotate and rest the big guys. But, anytime the big guys have had a decent rest, I would start the next drive with them in 5-2 Monster and go all out trying for a three and out.
For the big guys to have a decent rest during a half means that the offense must possess the ball for ten or fifteen minutes of real time – six minutes or so of game time? That means running the ball probably 50:50, but not just on first down, and definitely not always passing on third or fourth down.
While it is critical to run the ball on a lot of third downs just so the opponents don’t tee off on Baker, running the ball on third down also keeps the game clock running longer.
I hope we see them go that far outside the box.

Had to pick up my 13 year old granddaughter today from school, then drive 4 or 5 miles to her little brother’s elementary school to get him. So I listened to me and Junebug’s favorite podcast while waiting for her to get out, and then the drive to get her brother and get them home. She almost threw a fit when I told her that, no, she wasn’t playing her playlist. We were listening to my teams podcast. Well, lo and behold she started listening. My son and his wife took those 2 to the San Fran game last year. Took pictures in a breezeway with a Baker painted in the background. We picked up her brother who remembered going on the Pirate Ship. I didn’t know they let fans go on that ship. My grandson also remembered that guy who did the backflip. Managed to even listen to some of what our trio of hard working pros were floating. I’m getting more comfortable that Bain may just be that, as Joe said Suh like, dude to scare an opponent. Anyway, never have agreed with you guys about season wins. All I know is we were a quarter away from the NFC championship 2 years ago. I know we faced the hottest team in the playoffs and lost in the last second on a dink off the goalposts the following year. And despite being a very average team last year, the thought we had games, like a 49ers game that an 11 year old boy and his 13 year old sister were excited about, with the insane amount of injuries we had? And a defense that hasn’t been ready for prime time for about 3 years now? Well, it tells me we have a very strong team. And finally we’ve put defense in our crosshairs. It was their turn. Anyway, great reporting as always. But we’re as good as anybody, I think. Should be a really, really, good year. Oh yeah. Sage. This franchise will feel the pinch of losing our 2 franchise legends- this team won’t. Not even a little bit. It was time.

Grandkids listening to a Bucs podcast in Grandpa’s car is why I felt the use of the word “violence” was very inappropriate. The adults knew what Jason meant but not the kids. It does seem that someone has figured that out. Kids may not fully understand the term “physicality” but they certainly understand “violence”. Kudos to the Bucs for the pivot.

Ahh, the vast majority of clowns podcasting on YouTube are doing a TV show that destroys the secret sauce that could make their podcast audio very good. Joe shall not fall into that trap. –Joe

You guys made me smile when talking starters. There may very well be four “starters” here but remember the math. If a nickel is playing then a LB usually is coming off the field. Trotter and Scott may both be regulars but not play in the same packages. I would think Anzalone would stay on the field more than Trotter on third downs, at least to start. Pun intended. Bain is a given. I agree with Lee in that Hurst will be the “starting” X receiver when a three wideout set is used. When two TE formations are used, it will be Godwin and Ebuka on the field. Both are better blockers than any of the other receivers in the group. That’s my take for game one. We’ll see from there how it goes.
