“A Pro-Bowl Caliber Special Teams Player”

September 19th, 2012

The Bucs have more Pro Bowlers and more Pro Bowl talent walking around One Buc Palace than they’ve had in many years.

But a guy among that group probably would surprise most fans.

Rockstar general manager Mark Dominik took to the WDAE-AM 620 airwaves tonight and proclaimed  he believes Dekoda Watson is “Pro Bowl caliber special teams player.”

Dominik is not one to go overboard publicly assessing a player like that, so Watson and his agent are probably out celebrating about now, as Watson will hit restricted free agency after the season.

This is welcome news about Watson. Joe can’t claim to be poring over specials teams film, so this is truly fresh information. And as closely as Dominik and Greg Schiano work together, it’s certain that the leader of the New Schiano Order shares the same feelings about Watson.

Well I have heard good things about him on special teams but it’s pretty difficult to tell just from watching on tv. I will say the Bucs have had a solid special teams for awhile now but last weekend was a little sloppy. Benn had the one good return but we also gave up a couple.

I’ve always liked Dakota Watson a lot. I’ve been hoping he gets a crack at the starting line up at some point. I see him making big plays if he gets that chance. Seems like a stud to me.

As much as they love to blitz nowadays you would think he would get a bit more playing time.

Ya having all these “pro bowl” special teamers have been really helping us in the win column. Smh good job Mark now why dont you go find us a pro-bowler that actually plays on Offense or defense. And im talking about the draft not FA’s…

    Has he played at all?…

Nothing gets people’s panties in a wad like calling Dominik a rockstar. He’s probably explained it 200 times, yet people continue to get pissy about it. Get over it! It’s his site, he’s going to continue to do it whether it’s right or wrong, so move on with your life. I don’t understand why it bothers people so much anyway. It’s just a freaking nickname.

I like Watson, but I think the problem with him is where to get him on the field. He’s kind of a “tweener” with his size and speed. He’s not really an end, yet not really a LB. Believe it or not, special teams is a phase of football, and if we can get a great special teams player in the seventh round, then that’s an excellent pick.

    Cue the haters in 5, 4, 3, 2, ………

Joe, what’s the deal w the arrogant ads popping up on the side? The still-frames are fine, but the videos that pop up, shouting at me, then I have to search to find em amongst the many ads… It’s a tad bit excessive, and annoying

    Mike:

Must be either Google or TheBigLead ads, which Joe has zero control over.
