Emeka Egbuka Returns To Practice

October 28th, 2026

Injury bug.

Emeka Egbuka leads Bucs receivers in catches (28), targets (49) and touchdowns (2).

He didn’t play Sunday during the blowout win at Carolina.

Egbuka has a foot issue and remains in the league’s concussion recovery protocol. He was on the practice field this morning.

“He did individual [workouts] today. We’ll see how much more he does tomorrow,” Todd Bowles said.

Bowles didn’t hint that Egbuka could be ready to roll on Sunday. He sounded much more optimistic about a Sunday return of Antoine Winfield, Jr., who missed the past two games with a rib injury.

Has anyone missed Winfield? Free agent replacement Ifeatu Melifonwu has been a spectacular pickup.

Joe’s not sure the Bucs are a better team with Egbuka on the field. They probably are, but there’s still talent that must be maximized. Guys like Ted Hurst, Chris Godwin and Tez Johnson should be a formidable threesome.

    we’re not missing EE2 or AW31 LOL

secondary has less coverage bust and TEs running wide open…

Tez and Hurst seem hungrier than EE2….

    let em sit….

    GO BUCS!!!!!

hmm – looks like WR TE RB QB OL all have necessary depth – same at CB S OLB and DL – but there is a hole at LB – Trotter and Fabio are doing well – Dennis is a special teamer – Caden Fordham maybe ? or will JL actually bring some new talent at LB by the deadline ?! interesting question – can’t keep elevating Fordham

  3. McBay Says:

Egbuka has had some extra time to soak in some valuable coaching from Bowles. When he comes back look for him to be great at the other things.

  4. fishhawkbuc Says:

get rid of him before the trade deadline. He will be banging up our dumbarse GM for a big contract soon enough….think Butter Finger eating Chris Godwin

  5. destinjohnny Says:

think he was over drafted ??

  6. Steven007 Says:

Sorry McBay, Todd does absolutely no coaching with the receivers. But you know this.

  7. ProffeserVonBrainStorm Says:

We no longer need WR’s. Baker proved that with his MVP caliber 64 yard performance.

And the QB position is irrelevant other than to hand the ball off to a RB.

A mannequin could be set under center and do the same job.

The NFL has been put on notice. Might as well hand us the Lombardi now and save time.

Play who is producing, not who once produced.

I have a question : why did Brett Rypien get booted from the practice squad and not Easton Stick ? Stick has 3 elevations and Rypien had zero – they are both “friends” of Robinson – it would seem to be easier to manage any need for QB depth with Rypien with the elevation limits – not a real big deal either way – just curious

    Where McMillan

  11. Simple T Says:

Hope he comes back and Zac doesn’t make him read #1 on every pass play.

Tez is making his case for more targets.

  12. McBay Says:

The head coach coaches everybody or he’s not the head coach. Todd is the head coach, of course he coaches everyone. And he might just take over OC duties as well.

TrueStory; J Mac is on IR

  14. Beeej Says:

If David sills is ready to go, I’m good with that, he’s nearly as tall as Hurst

    Where McMillan

I believe the earliest we’ll see him is December

  16. DS Says:

AWOL Winfield I forgot he was on the team this year

  17. JimBobBuc Says:

Meka has dropped way too many passes – let him sit another week and maybe he’ll learn a lesson that you have to produce in the NFL – despite your draft position.

  18. jimmy Says:

tez maximized his opportunities last week.

  19. Erik with Unique Modern Art Says:

I’m sure Egbuka leads us in Drops too.

  20. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

The Eggman has been a shell of himself so far this season. Hopefully, he picks it up when he comes back. I’m starting to believe there is no #1 receiver on this team.

  21. Confido75 Says:

He would be better off resting another week. This stinks of desperation by Bowles and JL.

    Justin time

  23. buc4evr Says:

I hope Hurst proves me wrong, but the guy is garbage. Both Tez and Kameron are better. I’d also look at giving Greene, Sills, or Patterson a chance.

How the hell would you know?

  25. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Y’all talk like the WRs have been wastes of good QB play, and not casualties of mediocre at best QB play.

  26. Anon Says:

I’ve never seen a WR with such a catch radius. You have to sacrifice a lot to scheme him open and the pass has to be perfect every time.

Then he still drops it or stops running to his spot. This has made both QBs look bad and is the stuff that would get Brady to never throw to them again.

  27. Steven007 Says:

Mcbay, simply wrong. He’s the head coach so he makes game decisions. And he’s the DC so he breaks those calls. Does he coach up every player? Of course, not. Particularly not on offense. Dummy.

  28. Simple T Says:

I actually think sitting for 3 weeks and getting the run game going is going to be good for Baker and the pass game. We needed a hard reset after a sputtering (@ best) start.

It’s not going to happen but I’d try Tez out as WR 1 for a game or 2….. Make him 1st read on more passing downs. At least he ain’t trying to make 1 handed highlight grabs every other play.

  29. Oldbucsfan Says:

    Michael Clayton 2.0

  30. Fanofdabucs Says:

So much dumb in here I just don’t know where to start.

Led by the idiot who calls rookies busts after 3 games.

    Laughable bunch in here.

  31. drdneast Says:

Who cares, this guy is another No. 1 draft pick bum by Licht. Runs sloppy routes and no speed. No wonder Licht loved him.

  32. Steve V Says:

Fanbuc, And people thought the team was the laughing stock of the country ..till they see stupid up on this blog
