Rueben Bain Among Players Ruled Out For Packers Game

October 2nd, 2026

Out.

It’s not been a fun start for Bucs rookie Rueben Bain.

The hyped and heralded Miami Mauler early in his NFL career is only known for invisibility and temporary disability.

In two starts, Bain has a grand total of one tackle. Joe’s not sure that’s any better than Chris Braswell-like output for an outside linebacker and the No. 15 pick in the draft.

He missed the Vikings game last week with a bad groin and has been ruled out to play against the Packers on Sunday. This week, the Bucs added a shoulder ailment to his issues.

Bain joins Baker Mayfield, Benjamin Morrison and Ko Kieft as Bucs ruled for the Packers.

Where Joe gets concerned is not only is Morrison out, but Jacob Parrish is questionable for Sunday. The second-year corner has played well this year as a full-time corner. But with Morrison already down if Parrish can’t go, you’re looking at Zyon McCollum as the Bucs’ top corner and maybe undrafted rookie Ayden Garnes on the field.

Also, inside linebacker SirVoccea Dennis (calf) and defensive tackle Rakeem “Nacho” Nuñez-Roches (ankle/foot) are questionable.

    Just gotta get better. Solved.

Mayfield might have needed a couple of games to sit and watch. It’ll be the first time since he arrived in Tampa that he’s had to do that. I think it will do him some good to reset mentally and live through the kid’s experience playing instead of him.

Nothing is a better reminder of your own vulnerability than pain, sitting on the sidelines and wishing you were out there. For Mayfield to take the lesson to heart might prolong his career.

It’s the next man up, we’ll be alright

The local sports media and clueless Bucs fans hyped Bain up
I was skeptical of Rueben Bain in this defense
But, he will get better, it just takes time

I thought Josiah Trotter would be our most impressive rookie
Because he’s familiar with this type of defense

could SMB be elevated ? that might be a fun watch – I think the Bucs are hoping that the Packers implode

What are you worrying about Joe? This season is already lost. I’ve already turned my attention to who would make the best new GM, and HC. I’m thinking Nate Sheelhouse paired with the Rams assistant GM? Or how about the Broncos OC who Payton gave play calling duties to? How about plucking from the 49ers staff, and GM? Don’t fret over what’s happening with the Bucs now Joe, time already to look forward to a new start in 27.

Morrison just can’t stay on the damn field and it’s always a quad or hamstring. Hoping to see more of David Walker with some of the injuries at OLB.

Wouldn’t matter if he was healthy and played, bowles dumb ass would have him playing cover two cb instead of rushing
