Josiah Trotter: Interception Started Against A Jalon Daniels Look

There was no luck tied to the Josiah Trotter pick-6 on Sunday. No tipped ball or fluky happening.
It was all the rookie, and he explained it started days prior.
Trotter hopped on the Buccaneers Radio Network yesterday and explained the interception evolved from a look he dealt with in practice.
Lesson learned.
“I remember we had one in practice where it was almost kind of similar but different kind of play call. [Jalon Daniels] our QB, he threw one and I was like a yard away from [the receiver] and kind of like stopped and like hesitated for a second and they completed [the pass] in practice,” Trotter said.
“And then just watching it and like seeing on film and everything like that, talking to coaches, you know, just trust it. Just trust whatever the case is, and I got the same kind of concept again in the game [against Joe Burrow]. … and then kind of just going, working off the QB after that point, especially since my man just stayed in block. So kind of work off the QB at that point [for the interception.]”
Trotter noted his Pro Bowl linebacker father taught him to learn from other players’ mistakes. He’s also focused on not repeating his own mistakes and translating practice lessons to games.
“It is a strength, but as a just a player, I feel like that’s something you have to be able to do is not make the same mistake twice or just be able to see things from either film or whatever the case is — and be able to make the adjustment in time,” Trotter said.
After a pick-6, a sack and 10 tackles in his debut — after a slow start in the game — where does Trotter go from here?

Great to see Trotter have a great game. You have to feel bad for Bain. To much hype on the guy. So now after the first game I guess he is human after all. Take it easy on Trotter too. He had a great game, but is a rookie. I am wondering about Anzalone, he is not a rookie, but played like one. Funny him and Trotter reversed roles last week. I wonder if that continues

It’s week 1. No team is as good as they looked and no team is as bad either. Real teams shoe up in week 3. Interesting note, the bus usually start looking like cr@p around week 4.

A lot of players on Defense did not show up. Why was Anzalone throwing himself around like that. No methodical nor smash mouth tackling. Not sure I’m going tom,Ike this guy. All hype and much salary to be a captain, they must of had no one to take the job

People aren’t seeing the League, and especially the Bucs’ opponents, in a true light.
Cindy is like our team: a fine offense with a highly rated QB; a poor defense that they tried to upgrade this offseason; a team that underperformed last year due to injuries and heart (or lack thereof). It was a fair matchup.
The Vikings and Packers are in the same group: teams with some good players and strong units that are looking to go from pretty good to very good/great. There are QB questions both places.
As Bucs fans we think of Detroit and Philly and the Rams as the top tier. They show signs of slipping back. They, however, are physical teams, the kind we dread. And let’s not talk about the up-and-coming Bears.
We as fans need to see other teams for who they are, not for their old press clippings.
