Another Injury Issue For Mike Evans

August 18th, 2026

.

Some Bucs fans love blaming various muscle issues and “soft tissue” problems players deal with on everything connected to One Buc Palace.

They grumble about the Bucs’ strength and conditioning staff, the heat, Todd Bowles and more. Did Joe mention Todd Bowles?

Mike Evans often was the focus of those fans’ rage. Evans had hamstring issue summer after summer.

Well, Evans is 3,000 miles away now and today he left 49ers practice with a tight quad muscle. This was noteworthy because Evans sat out two weeks of 49ers camp with a quad issue. And, per reports, he had a foot wrapped in ice today, too.

Meanwhile at One Buc Palace. Zyon McCollum was back practicing after a tweaked groin kept him out a week. Various Bucs players also are near the end of the injury comeback trail, including receiver Jalen McMillan.

The Bucs re-hired speed coach Roger Kingdom, a member of the 2020 Super Bowl staff, to help cut injuries this season. The former college football player and Olympic gold medal hurdler left the team after the 2021 season.

Screw him. I hope hes in the tub all season

  2. Lokog Says:

    Weakling

  3. Buc-erUp Says:

I will celebrate Evans after he retires but I can’t see ever rooting for him again while in another uniform.

  4. Anyhony Says:

    How’s Vitas back progressing?

  5. Stpetematt Says:

I think he left because his wife wanted to leave so don’t be so angry with him. It’s not really his fault in any way you think.

  6. BakerFan Says:

over under for Evans in my book is 7 games. will do the tap helmet after every route that takes him more than 12 yards. Enjoy 49ers.

  7. Grover Says:

    Who Cares?

  8. buc4evr Says:

About what we expected. He will be lucky to play in 8 games. Guaranteed, that he pulls a hammy in the first few games. Think he has wasted the last part of his career in SF to be honest. The Bucs would have been much more forgiving of his injury situation. I think is a dumbass, I don’t really care what happens to him in SF.

  9. NCbucfan Says:

    Thoughts and prayers

  10. BillyBucco Says:

    Good Luck Mike.

  11. Bucnjim Says:

It’s bad karma to wish harm to players or anyone for that matter. Problem is fans blaming the Organization for having to make a very hard decision. Most likely the right decision!

  12. BigZ Says:

Why are we still talking about mike evans? Please make it stop.

  13. BigZ Says:

Expect the same for vita veta in a year or two. That’s why you don’t sign aging players to a third or fourth contract. It’s a no brainer, you wanna be cheaper and younger.

  14. Hodad Says:

I’m sure his quad will feel better after the 20 hour flight to, and from Australia for the season opener. Meanwhile Hurst is catching TDs in practice from Baker. Mike’s legs are dead, I’ll take Ted.

  15. Doughboy Says:

This game is also a business to these players so don’t understand the Philly expression towards guys that played hard for us. He’s also playing for a former Buc Hall of Famer and one hell of an offensive minded coach most players are itching to play for.Just remember Tom Brady brought players here just because of him. So wish him the best until we play the 49’s and let it go. He didn’t walk away during a game and he didn’t let the team down when on the field.

  16. AlabamaBucsFan Says:

Big Mike Evans fan but hard to root for him wearing different colors, especially since the Bucs offered him more money.

  17. Not a good look Says:

Death, Taxes and Substation Mike Soft Tissue injuries

  18. OLDSCHOOL1976 Says:

Less Mike, MORE David Walker… (sarc)
Mikes earned it! Walker has done …… NOTHING.
Hope ME plays well for SF. All this ugliness is just not necessary. Let it go.

  19. Bucswin Says:

    Another worthless article. Go Bucs

  20. Mexican Buc Says:

Mike is our Best offensive player of All times. So he earned respect from All.

  21. Kenton Smith Says:

I’ll betcha John Lynch could cover him now.

  22. ModHairKen Says:

I was so disappointed Evans left.

But with all these stories about his injuries, my disappointment has diminished.

  23. DBS Says:

Well at least we’re seeing the proper background photo now. He is a 49er . Now he’s their injury problem.

  24. Simeon4HOF Says:

    Time is undefeated

  25. Obvious Says:

Emotion and nostalgia were the reasons to keep him. I myself wanted him to stay. But the younger guys need snaps and 20 something mil for a guy that’s gonna miss at least a month of games ain’t worth it.

  26. Bosch Says:

I imagine he will recover nicely and have a 1000 yard season. He always has.

  27. Steve V Says:

The niners are banged up out of the gate, they’re sooo lucky they have Shanahan! He’s my hero! Hopefully Vea will take the Evans Express! and join Evans in the tub!!

  28. mj Says:

any vet who’s been playing for years and feels a tweak needs to just rest until september. some guys are too valuable and too talented for this time of year, no reason to practice just rest and get ready for the regular season, so stupid to get hurt right before the season ask jmac

  29. Rastafarian-Jenkins Says:

Stop writing about other team’s players Joe! That book is closed and the door slammed behind him.

  30. OurYear Says:

I can still root for Mike. He played out his contract , didn’t hold us hostage to a big number, and made a business decision for him and his family. All good in my book. Vita on the other hand, not playing his previously AGREED TO contract, and faking an injury. I will never cheer for him again, even if he remains on our team.

  31. Fred Says:

Come back stronger Mike! Good luck this year

  32. FloridaGirl Says:

ME13 chose another team. Talk about Bucs players please……..what’s the E2 toe issue??

  33. Bucfan593 Says:

I’m looking forward to not forcing the ball to someone

  34. Pelsbuc61 Says:

He’s no longer a Buc. Don’t understand why the need to keep making articles about him.

  35. Will Says:

So sick of these Evan articles, I always say they are getting old. Ok he’s injured what’s new

  36. Tony Says:

Can we get articles on if Jamal Dean or Carlton Davis are injured still & what’s going on with them?😁

  37. Todd Says:

Wasn’t there a famous song, “I left my quad in San Francisco”?

    Or something?

  38. BuccoMarty Says:

Joe is still pining for Evans like a high school bot that lost his hot girlfriend.

Joe… it’s time to move on. She’s not coming back to you.

  39. Josh Says:

Evans=Enemy now hope he doesn’t play another down…

  40. Adam's Angry Says:

I think it’s ironic that Evans moved to the other side of the country, and his nagging injury moved to the other side of his leg, simultaneously.

I’ve seen Evans in short. The dude is allergic to leg day. SEVERELY allergic.

  41. Marky mark Says:

People blame baker for post bye swoon. It was Evans fault..Hurst will be better.
