Emeka Egbuka Injury Not Considered Serious — For Now

August 13th, 2026

Toe injury.

NFL teams do not have to disclose injury information until the week of Week 1 games.

Given how paranoid NFL teams are about injuries, Joe doesn’t trust injury reports and Joe sure suspicious of teams releasing injury information when they do not need to. For example, Vita Vea allegedly has a hurt checkbook — eeerrr... back. It’s a good cover for his hold-in. Joe doesn’t buy the hurt-back narrative and Joe doesn’t know any sober people who do.

So when the Bucs, via Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, who was at the Bucs-Jets controlled (?) scrimmage Wednesday, said receiver Emeka Egbuka had a minor injury to a toe, Joe’s eyebrow was raised.

Egbuka got rolled up on in practice. Thank goodness it is just a toe. But that doesn’t mean it’s minor.

You never want to see any player, much less a receiver, have a bum wheel. Receivers need healthy feet to succeed. Joe would sit Egbuka for the next week or two. He doesn’t need a worthless preseason game.

Given what happened with Carl Nicks with the Bucs years ago, Joe does not trivialize toe injuries.

FOUr articles about injuries to players on page 1. Love you Joes but hate to see the injury bug so soon. Hope everyone heals up for Cincy.

Not sure who to take in fantasy between him and Godwin. Godwin is way cheaper and has a ton of upside. But Emeka could be the next JSN and that would be insane production
