Why Not Give David Walker More Snaps?

David Walker might be living up to the hype.
While it is one thing to get a “sack” in underwear football, it’s quite different to get a “sack” when the pads come on. So far, David Walker has been doing both.
Until today, Walker had at least one sack in every practice. That’s seven practices, including three in pads. Walker’s streak may have ended as Joe did not notice him close to a quarterback today.
In practices, underwear or padded, defenders are not allowed to breathe on a quarterback. So a “sack” is very much a subjective thing.
Still, Walker has impressed. Today after practice, KitKat-eating Bucs coach Todd Bowles was asked why he wouldn’t play Walker more with the first team? Bowles basically said the outside linebackers have had close to an even number of snap eachs, as Bowles doesn’t want to fry them before the worthless preseason even starts.
But Bowles said he will give Walker more snaps in New Jersey next week and may add more snaps for Walker in two weeks when the Bucs return from New Jersey.
If this Walker really is him, imagine how much deeper the Bucs are at outside linebacker with both Rueben Bain and Walker on the roster?

Unrelated: The Patriots have been practicing without cornerback Carlton Davis for over a week and head coach Mike Vrabel said Davis is going to miss even more time before he’s well enough to return.

These scrimmages are good gauges for how good these young guys are.

Perhaps we should wait until the regular season to make these judgments.
Also, do we need to describe Bowles as “KitKat eating”?
That much about him is readily apparent.

With the availability of GLP-1s, there is no reason that the head coach of a group of elite athletes should earn a “Kit-Kat eating” adjective.

Our defense has lacked fire and swag since we traded Carlton Davis III.
We never should have traded him.

More snaps? At whose expense? Perhaps Diaby will play less. Or maybe he spells Bain which is going to be what, 20 plays a game? Keep in mind Jose that if Walker rushes the QB then Diaby / Bain likely will not unless it’s a blitz which we will not do every play. You seem to forget this sometimes (often). So we will see. Looks like Bustwell won’t play anything but special teams from here on out.

Apparently Braswell is having a good camp too? Crazy that all of a sudden we have loads of edge rush. Loving it! How is Walker doing against Goedeke? Have they competed at all? I think Walker is for real which means we may have our own versions of Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson! That would really be something and our team will be dangerous with all that offense too!

I gonna keep saying this. D. Walker reminds me a lot of Dwight Freeney. Go watch some footage Freeney and then watch D. Walker. The similarities are undeniable. Yes a i know its way to early to say he will be the next Freeney but his game is remarkably similar. Let’s hope his career is too.

Why do people say we should keep Davis? He was not that great in coverage and gets hurt .now he is hurt again.
