Rash Of Receiver Injuries Hit Buccaneers
August 4th, 2026UPDATED: Receivers Tez Johnson and David Sills did the kind of walkoff you don’t want to see in sports.
Second-year receiver Johnson, who has been having a strong training camp, walked out of the Glazer Shed tonight in the middle of practice. He was limping because of a groin injury, Todd Bowles said.
Sills, the newcomer free agent from Atlanta, walked to the sidelines slowly and stopped practicing.
This all comes as the Bucs hit the one-week mark of camp — and as Jalen McMillan has had the past two days off because of a banged knee, per Bowles clarification after practice. And Emeka Egbuka didn’t practice yesterday and was limited today after lower body soreness.
The Bucs are not required to issue an injury report in August. Joe’s glad about that. Reading it might induce vomiting.
If it makes you feel better, Mike Evans is dealing with a quad injury with the 49ers.

No it doesnt? Mike Evans has done more for us than all these guys together. And you should not blame Mike E for leaving you should blame ownership and garbage coaching.

So Atlanta and Carolina have injuries. Now from the practice fields of One Buc here come the injuries. How many injuries do the Saints have?

Quad now hamstrings to follow.

Next el be the hammy for SF5

Quad and hammies is a tradition for the great Mike Evans. Hasn’t no one year that he didn’t pull something lol.

I’m more worried about the Saints than I am Atlanta or Carolina honestly. Saints are going to be sneaky good. I see them being anywhere from 7 to 10 wins.

Rocky
You forgot to list the front office. The group directly responsible for contracts.
I hate these injuries. Hopefully tweaks.

Practicing in the shed always seems to bring out the injuries . Boycott the shed till real grass is put in.

Here comes Tyreek Hill.

I’m glad none of the injuries seem to be serious. In any case, Stephon Diggs is still on the street

Mac is right, I think the Saints are the team to watch. They have the easy 4th place schedule (while Carolina’s schedule is tougher than Tampa’s) and let’s face it; they would not have to do a lot of things to pass by Tampa or Carolina. The ATL has a lot of issues, I think I will take the under of their win total.

“We don’t want to run routes anymore in this heat” Union 151 Tampa.

Looks like Jalon Walker torn his ACL so the Falcons lose another edge rusher. Pearce will probably be suspended to start the year too (but back in time to sack Baker). Looks like the ATL might be in the Arch Manning sweepstakes.

It actually makes me feel a lot better, thank you Joe.

@Rocky & OR Buc: Mike left for less money to join a third-place team in it’s division. I think Mike’s concussion that he suffered last year was waaaaaay worse than we know. You can (and should) blame Mike, and Mike alone!

Every team has these tweaks/strains. The players are responsible for keeping in shape in the off-season. I know they need down time but they get paid more in a 10-12 year career than most of us will make in a lifetime of working all year round for 50-60 years.
They need to stay conditioned during the off season so these things don’t happen as often.
So.e of it may be that they need a break from going 0 to 100% trying to impress the coaches.
Either way, LETS GO BUCS

Compared to Carolina and Atlanta’s injury report, I would gladly take these minor injuries. Let’s just hope the Bucs avoid any major injuries before the start of the season.

medical/training staff sucks
GO BUCS!!!!

Nothing new with Mike Evans. Every year event with him.

Personally, I will be glad when folks stop slurping on Mike Evans. Geeeeezzzzz, enough already.

I’m glad that Kam Johnson is getting a good look. His speed and moves are exciting to watch.

Welcome to Tampa Bay; the NFL capital of non-contact injuries.
