“Raise The Flags” Marathon On NFL Network Begins Tonight

For the two dozen or so Bucs fans who didn’t see the “Raise the Flags” docuseries on Amazon last fall, fear not. The NFL Network has you covered.
The “Raise the Flags” series, directed by eight-time Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Trent Cooper (a native of the Tampa Bay region), will air tonight, Monday, at 8 p.m. on NFL Network. Each night this week, NFL Network will air two episodes of the 10-episode series.
(Cooper sat down with Ira Kaufman and Joe for a recording of “The Ira Kaufman Podcast” and at some point, Joe hopes to publish this interview.)
The documentary begins with the NFL awarding Tampa Bay a franchise right through the 2024 season. Cooper told Joe he was adding material for the docuseries right up until the very deadline to have it finished for Amazon, where it was shown originally.
If something happened with the Bucs in the first 50 years of the franchise, good chance in this series. Testimony from The Sage of Tampa Bay sports, Ira Kaufman, is sprinkled throughout.
Some cool things Joe learned more about were the backroom dealings getting Tom Brady to Tampa, which included the insane obstacles to physically get Brady to sign a Bucs contract before he could have a change of heart and be plucked by another team.
Joe also learned a popular Bucs coach was removed, in part, for what Team Glazer believed was insubordination.

Since Team Glazer produced the docuseries, they make many appearances to offer insight and background. Specifically, Bucs co-chairman Ed Glazer was/is superb in this docuseries.
Chucky, Bucco Bruce Arians, Father Dungy, Derrick Brooks, Warren Sapp, Rondé Barber, Tom Brady, Mike Evans, Mike Alstott, Brad Johnson and many, many others make appearances, including some surprises of the past.
This is a must-watch for Bucs fans and if you couldn’t drop money on Amazon to watch it previously, this week is your time to watch.
DVR it if you must. You’ll be thankful you did.

Unfortunately, Xfinity and the NFL Network are at odds and it won’t be shown here in the Detroit region. Go Bucs!

One thing the documentary revealed that I never knew was that Rhonde Barber had a torn PCL in the Eagles playoff win that led to the first SB. One of the greatest defensive performances of all time was accomplished with an injury that would have kept most guys out.

Larry – Unfortunately, it will not be shown ANYWHERE via Xfinity, including the Tampa area. And, per Xfinity, no timetable for it to return! Bummer !!

I just binged the whole thing last night with my son and let me tell you guys, I fully understand why the Glazers are sticking with Licht and Bowles. Watching the revolving door of coaches an GMs in the lost decade was depressing and sad. Some success is better than NO success.

I’ve been so excited now, for over a MONTH, about this WWII documentary (eleven LoL) with Tom Hanks, starting TONIGHT. It’s been waaaayyy too long since the last ones, like “in color” and “HD,” etc. Though, I am a big fan of footage being shown about life back home during that era (so that people can get a good ‘feel’ of the background, with what all was going on ‘nationally’ behind the scenes, & etc.)… I am kind of worried about ‘this one’ having the potential of being way too ‘heavy’ on it. So, guess we’ll see!? I would MUCH prefer it being heavy on actual BATTLE footage, that we’ve never seen before. There was more footage filmed of this war than ANY other war in history! So much so, that we have probably only seen barely even 1% of it. I WANT TO SEE MORE. A lot MORE. As MUCH as humanly possible. People really need to watch all of the movies from back in the 30’s and 40’s, if they really want to get a good ‘feel’ of the way of life from back in the homeland, during this time period. We are soooo damn lucky to have the TCM Channel. Take advantage of it! There is NOTHING worth ANYTHING that Hollywood is putting out there today, anyway. Seriously, I heard they were going to produce an all-new “Godfather,” from a FEMALE perspective… With a “GODMOTHER,” I suppose. What a HUGE JOKE. I knew that Francis Ford Coppola had just recently filed for BK again, and had to sell his watch collection, & etc. But, Come On Mannnn… That is SUCH a TOTAL DISGRACE. I mean, if YOU would watch THAT… Then, you are a TOTAL CLOWN. How Pathetic.

They really need to promote this documentary HARDDDD all over on social media. For LOTS of reasons. Young people are thirsty right now, about life pre smart phones and Ai. This would be THE PERFECT opportunity. We have to get back to teaching about our great country from a ‘POSITIVE’ viewpoint. All of this CONSTANT ‘NEGATIVE’ propaganda that is being taught now, is just absolute ABSURDITY. It is only meant to DIVIDE us. By people, who are jealous and HATE US for who WE ARE. It’s because, they hate THEMSELVES. They want YOU to be like THEM.
