@Joe – unrelated to the podcast, but your navigation between articles is broken on all the posts which are ads (Dolman, Hooters, etc.). It’s not broken, just not there. –Joe You can’t navigate to the next post afterwards, only the previous post navigation exists.

Been like this for about 2 weeks now, just a heads up.

  2. Stpetematt Says:

Mike Evans left because he wants to be the #1 receiver for the rest of his career, he doesn’t think San Fran has a better chance or a better QB or anything else, he was butthurt we drafted Egbuka and didn’t want to be a 1c or 1d receiver. Our receiver room has way too much talent for there to be much room left for him. Someone is going to get open before Baker is forced to throw a 50/50 ball to him when he’s rarely ever open anymore. It’s SIMPLE. There’s no other explanation that remotely makes sense other than the selfish one about the HOF. Certainly they don’t have a better chance at à Super Bowl in that division! There’s a decent chance of not making the playoffs at all.

Not broken. That’s the new norm with a recent software upgrade.

  4. Let em bake Says:

Targets. Mike wants targets. He’ll get 10 catches a game . In Tampa , this year, he may have had 5. A diminished role is the last thing Mike wants during his final years.

  5. BA’s Red Pen Says:

I don’t blame Mike for leaving, Bowles is the head coach.

  6. Stpetematt Says:

Again, it has nothing to do with Bowles and everything to do with competition at his position. He’s been playing for Bowles for ages. What changed? We drafted another receiver in the first round, that’s what! It was purely a selfish move to be the clear-cut #1 wr again. It’s obvious. It’s not a ring. The Bucs just beat the 49ers last year! So it’s definitely not a ring. It’s his personal statistics in the drive to make it to the HOF. Little does he know, he’s already a first balloter.

Let’s make him look like a fool and stay healthy and win the Super Bowl!

  7. Miller5252 Says:

I agree with most all that @Stpetematt typed up. I think for the first time Mike went full selfish and he 1000% has earned that right. I think Mike got tired of the Bucs constantly drafting WR and taking away his numbers and causing it to be a lot harder to make the HOF. I also think Evans saw what the change in venue did for Brady and Evans wanted to play in a spot where he can be talked about nationally a lot more. I 100% stand with the Joe writing all the articles about Evans, what was the real reason he left and how bad this is going to hurt the team for the next few years. They had 9 tries from the 1 yard line while Evans was hurt last year and the offense had not 1 solid play to score. Think they tried a fade to Tez. Bucs should have done anything to keep him.

Its crazy how fans cannot realize its a business! They take everything from the heart ! Step ,,Evens left Brady left manning left the list goes on and on .Yeah you can say FA killed the game..But in the long run its about winning fans included..Evens took his bumps and bruises in tampa ,he feels its time for a greener pasture however it always doesn’t work out…Go Bucs!

  11. Steve V. Says: Says:

I was in Tampa when the nfl awarded us the franchise, it was nothing but optimism in the worst time in Buc Life ! The past few years they’ve won a SB made the playoffs regardless if they won 8,9 or 10 games The fans here are spoiled now saying hateful things etc.. My family was in Baltimore when the hapless Colts left even though the fans were ugly as they are now here in Tampa .They cried literally cried..When Cleveland left for Baltimore they cried and cried ,however they supported the Broncos unlike the Colts they got to keep their name also..Anyhow you dont know we hate you got till its gone…No one’s perfect get over it people and remember its just a game!

  12. Steve V. Says: Says:

    Perdiction sorry

  13. JMAC Says:

I completely agree with Steve, and we’re in way different generations. Fans are so spoiled and trolling making me not want to ever read the comments anymore because it makes me depressed

  14. SenileSenior Says:

I love the “all things Buccaneers” you guys provide.

Some of the trolls of the past have never re-emerged as far as I can tell. Kudos to the Joes for that.

  15. LynchMob50 Says:

    Please ban the trolls??? Hilarious.

The Pom Pom waivers want an echo chamber of their own thoughts repeated back to them.

As if that would change anything regarding the results on the field.

Bowles will still suck as a HC\DC no matter what is spoken on this site.

Thank you very much for the kind words. Glad you like the site.

Joe has been around for 18 years. Do a lot of pods and media appearances. Not like this site was hiding. 🙂

Tell your Bucs friend about Joe. Appreciate the feedback. Thanks!

all due respect to m1k3… I agree with @stpetematt 100000000%

  19. Oneilbuc Says:

Why do everyone think Mike Evans left because of Bowles maybe he left because of Baker Mayfield throwing a pick and losing the Panthers game or the Dolphins game.

  20. Glass Half Full Guy Says:

A lot of good points, even though I may not agree with all of them. I love ME13. Great player, great guy and a true Buc. Yes, there’s no “I” in “team”, but in big time pro sports, lots of money (not “gotta feed my family” money but “generational wealth” to take care of your kids, grandkids, etc.) plus pride. Winning championships. Cementing your legacy within the ame, etc.

True, Evans (if healthy) will get more opportunities for the ball in SF. Unlike other places (Philly, for instance) the fans won’t kill him when he has his occasional drops. With the merry-go-round of OCs the Bucs have had (and most weren’t good) he has a chance to play for a HC/OC in Shannahan who knows his stuff.

Evans isn’t a guaranteed 1st ballot HOF’er. Many great players had to wait. In SF he gets far more media coverage for his final years that can only help his case as long as he performs fairly well. The broadcasters will discuss his career stats and records even when he’s having a so-so game. It can only help his HOF chances.

Evans gave the Bucs and the Tampa community his all for the entire time he was here. When he retires, he’ll likely return and continue his good works in the community and possibly even more. With the uncertainty here in Bucs World, you can’t blame a guy for wanting to think about his legacy and, yes, himself, for his final years as a player.

I’m not a betting man, but it’s probably a sure bet that he’ll retire a Buc on a 1-day contract and go into the HOF in a Bucs uniform.

I’m excited to see what our Bucs will look like this season without big Mike, but I’ll still be pulling for Evans in SF. I hope he gets 100+ yards per game in all of their losses. Lol
