Rueben Bain Has Bucs Ties

New Bucs edge Rueben Bain.
Newest Bucs edge rusher Rueben Bain traveled to Pittsburgh to be at tonight’s draft. Even though he was far away from his new home Thursday night, Bain already has Bucs connections.
Bain’s cousin is Carlton Davis, the former Bucs corner who helped Tampa Bay win a Super Bowl. Bain also knows Miami-area native Calijah Kancey and he is pretty confident he will hook up with Miami native Lavonte David.
And, of course, when Joe asked Bain about Warren Sapp, he broke out into a huge smile — maybe the only time Bain showed emotion in his Zoom call with the local pen and mic club Thursday night.
Obviously, Bain knows the Hurricanes and Bucs legend well.
Bain said he’s stoked to stay in Florida because so many of his family can come to all of his games. Bain said he had a family entourage of some 25 people with him in Pittsburgh. Five live in Tampa, he said.
So in a sense, Bain is already home in Tampa and already has a Bucs support system in place in Miami.
Joe suspects Sapp is a happy man, too.

All you naysayers: The draft is about VALUE! Bain was the consensus #9 pick. We got him at 15. That’,s like getting a 2-1 horse at 4-1. Every pick is a gamble. This one is a damn good bet.

T-REX BAIN would sell a ton of merch. Just imagine thousands of people in early September in the stands wearing huge giant plastic t-rex heads- you could tie that into the AdventHealth sponsorship. You got all the TREX toys, TREX shirts, TREX shoulder pads, etc. Could be EPIC!

Bain and AQM in a third-down sub package playing with Kancey and Elijah Roberts. On a per snap basis, Roberts was better than YaYa in sacks.
