Team Glazer Spin Job On Mike Evans
March 9th, 2026Two years ago, then-Bucs receiver Mike Evans happily was talking publicly about how he wants to be a “Buc For Life.”
Logic says Evans was ripe to be signed for longer than the two-year deal he received in March of 2024. Logic also says Evans was ripe for a contract extension and a raise after the 2024 season, the one in which fans, the organization and Evans celebrated his NFL record 11th consectutive 1,000-yard season and another division title.
But that never happened. And there never appeared to be any urgency to make it happen at those times.
Fast-forward to today and the announcement that Evans will join the 49ers on a three-year contract. Team Glazer issued the following announcement this afternoon.
Man, that statement is under Joe’s skin, particularly the part where Team Glazer says, “Our goal was always to ensure that Mike would play his entire career as a Buccaneer.”
Really? “Always,” really?
Joe cautioned fans two years ago when the Bucs were celebrating the whole “Buc For Life” thing surrounding the Evans re-signing. The talk was fun, but it didn’t have the contract years to back up the statement.
Over the past month or so, the Bucs fought hard to keep Evans, but it was too little and too late.
Ball dropped.

March 9th, 2026 at 3:21 pm
IT WAS 3rd and 28!
March 9th, 2026 at 3:22 pm
two words and one stat
Todd Bowles
3rd and 28
March 9th, 2026 at 3:22 pm
3-28
I believe the Glazers did their part. Todd didn’t.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:22 pm
Yeah they made a mistake like they did for not paying Antonio Brown , especially by their own admission.
This is why Manchester United fans don’t like them, mamas they operate by saving money
March 9th, 2026 at 3:22 pm
he wanted the challenge of playing for a team that wants to win
March 9th, 2026 at 3:23 pm
FFS. What a pity
March 9th, 2026 at 3:23 pm
I’m with ya Joe. This blows.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:23 pm
Just another failure by this organization, in a long line of failures and underwhelming moves.
Don’t worry though, Mr. 3rd-and-28 is going to self scout and try to do things better. How could you not have faith in that?
March 9th, 2026 at 3:23 pm
Dude get over it
He wanted to leave simple
Taxes will eat everything he’ll make less his agent to thank for
March 9th, 2026 at 3:24 pm
Take it easy… Joe..
love mike and miss him but father time has caught up with him….
alot of injuries the last couple of years …. he can pay those california taxes now …ouch
March 9th, 2026 at 3:24 pm
After that game Mike was planning his future away from Todd.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:24 pm
It’s probably the best thing that could have happened for Bowles.
Honestly we need the money for Trey H.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:24 pm
Evans was totally done with raddio point blank!!!
Terrible defense that can’t hold a lead. 18 games under 500 trash HC
March 9th, 2026 at 3:25 pm
Ball wasn’t dropped Mike clearly didn’t mean it when he said he wanted to be a Buc for life. It’s been reported that the Bucs made an aggressive offer to keep Mike, so it’s his choice to not be a Buc for
Life. Sad because he’s a great player still and we needed him. This is the business side in reverse. I just wish he never said that two years ago so I don’t have to feel like he was full of it
March 9th, 2026 at 3:25 pm
I’m heartbroken. 🙁
March 9th, 2026 at 3:26 pm
GLAZERHOUSES SUCK!
March 9th, 2026 at 3:26 pm
Takes 2 to tango. Mike made HIS choice. Honor it.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:26 pm
Glazers suck for mainly keeping Bowles, and we all suck for supporting this team that is owned by these clowns. Screw them all we should give them empty stadiums this year, no support at all.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:27 pm
3rd and 28. The Glazers should be embarrassed at keeping Bowles.
The players that quit on the Bucs last year. Dennis, Dean, Mccolum, David,
Reddick, and Winfield. Blame Licht also thinking Reddick who quit on two teams already would not do the same for the Bucs. I would guess Bowles won’t survive the season. Could get ugly fast. Took him 2 months to figure out we had to kick it thru the end zone. Unbelievable
March 9th, 2026 at 3:27 pm
No Crosby, bye Mike and Dean.
Any good news from free agency? Or is our splash singing Cade Otton?
Teams should get better in Free agency time not worse
March 9th, 2026 at 3:27 pm
Gainwell, who turns 27 next week, caught 73 balls for the Steelers last year …. 73 catches from a running back …. hello … Voted MVP of the team by his own players ……… i think he will help… and stay on the field
March 9th, 2026 at 3:27 pm
Team Glazerhouse.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:28 pm
It stinks for sure,,, big Mike is fun to watch and I will still root for him in SF,,, that said , we have Godwin, EE, JMac and Tez ,,, Big Mike wasn’t a luxury but I think the Bucs basically have enough in the WR room! We need anything and everything D and quick,,, quit pinching pennys and go!
Good luck Big Mike !
March 9th, 2026 at 3:28 pm
Whoopie Doo
So Mike Evans is gone, a guy that missed 12 games the past 2 seasons
Too bad the world is not coming to an end
March 9th, 2026 at 3:28 pm
He wanted out no matter what the Bucs offered . He turned into a diva after all. Godwin is my new favorite and he does want to stay and showed it last year.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:28 pm
Clearly Mike Evans spoke of the crap that is the head coaching work of one Todd Bowles. The likelihood that the Bucs win half their games this upcoming season is not good. This is a poorly constructed team.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:29 pm
I am confident the truth was that when the Glazers chose Bowles that Mike chose to sign elsewhere in FA. His sideline emotions were pretty clear that there was a lot of questions about Bowles- the coach – last year.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:29 pm
The head coach sucks. If you can’t see that, it’s because you don’t want to.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:29 pm
3rd and 28. No chance to win with this D.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:29 pm
Voted MVP by his own team – a team completely devoid of offensive playmakers, and Gainwell was so valuable they didn’t bother re-signing him
March 9th, 2026 at 3:29 pm
Says everything about what Evans thinks about Baker Mayfield that he is fleeing the team. He knows that bum cost the Bucs the playoffs last year, and wants as far away from him as you can get, so he’s literally going to the other side of the country. This is 100% about Baker and him being a bum. Go watch that Atlanta, where Baker lost it by not being able to make a simple 3rd down throw that I could even make to a wide open WR, go look at that game where Mike is making ridiculous catches when he’s wide open because Baker can’t throw a decent ball – heck go look at the Detroit game where Evans where Mike is making amazing catches on the sideline that are 3 feet out of bounds because Baker can’t keep the ball in the field of play, not to mention the overthrow on the play where Evans got hurt. Baker is choke artist who will never win anything important, and Mike is getting out of town so he doesn’t ruin his legacy. Thanks Baker, you piece of crap.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:29 pm
He has no confidence in Todd, just like the rest of us….
My name change after the last game was a prophecy- we make a horrible decision to keep Todd and we let the best player who ever put on a Buc uniform walk…
I am devastated
March 9th, 2026 at 3:30 pm
Better Owners, QB, GM and Organization. Period!!!!
March 9th, 2026 at 3:31 pm
Wow, they were on top of this one. They don’t care. They want to make $ not win. Losers.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:31 pm
That is what happens when you have a Fat Ugly hillbilly as your GM.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:31 pm
I blame the organization not ME
Remember him coming off the field yelling 3rd and 28
He saw what we all saw
A losing team with no defensive heart
And they kept the leader HC
March 9th, 2026 at 3:31 pm
Can’t the Glazers even put in word that they are making changes for the betterment of the team??? Their silence on progressing is signaling, that they are done on free agents….
BTW Licht, take those glasses off, they do not make you smarter looking, your actions are what you will be judge on, not those glasses.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:31 pm
Very smart move by ME13. He now has a shot at the playoffs and the SB.
8-9 only impressed the Glazer kids and Licht. In the worst division in the NFL.
And Mike now has a real QB that knows what it takes to get to the SB.
Having to cover ME13 and McCaffery is going to be rough for their opponents.
I’m happy for him and Dean. They escaped the nightmare that is Todd Bowles.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:31 pm
“Joe cautioned fans…”
Yes, Joe cautioned fans in 2024 after the Evans signing. How many links do you want? Here’s the first one. –Joe
https://www.joebucsfan.com/2024/03/highlights-from-todays-mike-evans-news-conference/
lol cmon, Joes were the only ones in the word vehemently stating Mike would re-sign with the Bucs. Just admit you were flat out wrong on this one.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:32 pm
Like I keep saying Lovie Smith didn’t hire a general manager they hired a scout. The only time Licht is useful or visible is during the draft. So this is how GM’s who’ve won super bowls get fired huh
March 9th, 2026 at 3:32 pm
Still no def this team will suck . Welcome back lost years . Here we go again
March 9th, 2026 at 3:33 pm
@Boob, he meant it, he just wanted to win. He signed after what appeared to be a possible fluke flop season. Two more years of it made it clear-Bowles can’t coach. He wanted to win! The Glazers lost Mike when they kept Bowles – Period!
March 9th, 2026 at 3:33 pm
Mike wanted to leave, plain and simple. Im sure that 3rd and 28 played a large part. I also think EE, Godwin, JMac getting targets, played a small part as well.
Mike was my favorite Buc of all time, but taking off my sentimental hat, Evans was having a hard time with staying healthy and he came off the field after every catch.
Wish him nothing but the best, but I highly doubt Evans plays out that contract.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:33 pm
Well Joe can’t argue with you there. Yes before last years melt down it could and should have been done!!. However Joe while you were confident Evans would stay,I kept telling you it now appeared not so likely. His wanting to test free agency spoke volumes where his head was at.I think the meltdown last year did it and it now also appears he was concerned about a crowded Wr room. However, I still think if the team’s defense was not in such poor shape he would have stayed. San Fran has a proven Coach and it has been stated today he will be the primary target. It also appears he got more money to boot.
Definitely a sad day . It seems the Bucs are always a step behind teams like SF and others. They shot themselves in the foot yet again. Give J Lynch credit he saw a prize in the garden left by the Bucs and he said ok
Thank You I will grab it.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:33 pm
Licht effed up. Bowles defense and not making the playoffs sealed it but Licht sucks. He is a big reason this team is not very good.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:34 pm
The Glazer family don’t run the Tampa Bay Buccaneers like a franchise obsessed with winning — they run it like a low-risk investment inside the guaranteed-profit machine of the National Football League. For decades the pattern has been the same: stretches of irrelevance, conservative decision-making, and a tolerance for mediocrity because the money rolls in regardless thanks to TV deals and revenue sharing. The only time the franchise suddenly acted like a ruthless contender was when Tom Brady fell into their lap and instantly delivered a title at Super Bowl LV — which only proved the point. When winning requires real vision, urgency, and risk, the Glazers disappear. When it’s time to cash the checks and watch the franchise value climb, they’re right where they’ve always been.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:34 pm
3rd and 28.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:34 pm
Im glad we can spend the money elsewhere. Mike is in the twilight of his career, and this will peove to be a good thing.
And the 3-28 trolls can just go away now….don’t recognize half of those posters names…!
March 9th, 2026 at 3:34 pm
All the best to you Mike, thanks for the memories, you’re a class act! Time to turn the page and watch CG, EE & JMac cook with Baker.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:35 pm
Shanahan + Purdy > Bowles + Mayfield
March 9th, 2026 at 3:37 pm
The worst day in Bucs history.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:37 pm
Got my 49er’s voodoo doll ready – lose twice to Rams, Seahawks and Cards.
Mike’s choice. Screw him.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:39 pm
The 4th quarter play at Carolina where Evans and Mayfield weren’t on the same page and Mayfield threw the interception that sealed it for the Panthers – had to factor.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:40 pm
F the Glazers. F Jason Licht. And most definitely F Todd Bowles.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:41 pm
Good luck with fans next year
March 9th, 2026 at 3:41 pm
Empty words from a shallow. greed focused family, much like the video everyone raves about.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:42 pm
3rd and 28…..Mike knows Bowles was not a SB caliber coach….Jason Light better
damn well sign Trey Hendrickson or pack your bags!

Never seen your name in here either bud. LOL.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:44 pm
3rd and 28 is dumb. It’s easy to see why Evans left. Licht drafted. Egbuka. McMillan. Tez. Extended god win. Mike was expecting an extension before free agency. Specially with his hall of fame career. By not extending him. Mike felt unappreciated. Knew organization was going in a different direction. He left to a warmer climate. Not cold. Because he knows cold will brake him. He also made the best decision for a run at a title. It’s nobody’s fault but business.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:44 pm
The Glazers made a statement when they chose to stick with Todd and place blame on all his assistants.
So Mike made his statement in retort.
‘Keeping Todd? ABC U Later!’
March 9th, 2026 at 3:45 pm
No way that hamstring is holding up next to that power station.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:48 pm
screw u, signed us fans.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:48 pm
With the exception of NFC South and SF fans, I don’t think anyone wanted to see Mike Evans in another jersey. It’s a sad day.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:49 pm
Mike will get less than 700 yards. Seattle. Rams defense. And with kittle. Macraffey also the young WR pearsall
March 9th, 2026 at 3:50 pm
Can’t believe some of these comments!
“Evans turned into a diva”
You must be outta your mind. Mike saw what many of us saw… a team going nowhere with Todd Bowles at the helm.
I’m sure Mike liked and respected Todd but this is a results league and the results the D got and the team got after bye weeks have been bad as long as Todd has been here as HC.
Glazers and Licht fumbled the ball here so badly.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:50 pm
@jcscycles
I agree.
Would Mike have resigned if we’d matched the SF offer ?
If so you can all shut up with the he wants to compete for a SB bullspit. Hes just grabbing $ for his upcoming retirement.
No more forcing the ball to Mike to get his stats. Our offense could be better without him imo.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:51 pm
Unfortunately the reality of the salary cap, draft missteps and “running it back” with TB12 caught up to us. I am okay with this and wish him the best. It’s a business and with the three additions and one subtraction I still feel we improved as a team, today.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:52 pm
Evans wanted a 3 year commitment. That would have been a dumb move for the Bucs.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:54 pm
Mike is my favorite buc of all time. But the writing was on the wall when we resigned Godwin and drafted emeka. I knew then that we would be where we are today.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:54 pm
Buccaneers offered him a place to play and job/life security for as long as he wanted…but he did have to be reasonable to have that. He chose not to, and was foolish to give that up. He’s now wrapped up in the real world of NFL football and if he doesn’t perform to expectations this year (or is hurt), he’ll end up as trade fodder and end up bouncing around the league for the remainder of his 3 year contract.
This is on Mike…and for listening to his scum agent who only GAS about himself. The Bucs should feel good they did everything they reasonably could.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:55 pm
Forfeiting any chance of success next season by keeping Lovie Toilet Bowels was the last straw. Thanks Bucs! Your desire to suck astounds me.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:55 pm
Luv you mike but good luck else where
March 9th, 2026 at 3:56 pm
Spin job? Dude was free to leave and decided to leave. It was a standard press release. This fan base is ridiculous. Absolutely the right move to let him move on.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:56 pm
8-9
March 9th, 2026 at 3:57 pm
Do we want to try to be a contender, or do we want to overpay for past performance? Its hard to have it both ways.
Everybody loves Mike Evans and this sucks, but at what point is it alright to say goodbye? You don’t use a 1st round pick on a WR and then make him play #3 reciever for most of his rookie deal. McMillan and Egbuka need to be what you build the passing game around now and Godwin can work the slot.
March 9th, 2026 at 3:59 pm
You are Mike Evans. Future Hall of Famer. Super Bowl winner. You hold virtually all the records for Bucs. You are well respected, loved and adored in Tampa. Yet you only have so much football left in you. Why would you stay? What has this organization done where it would fire you up to come back for another year? The Bucs are a sh!t show. 3rd and 28. Todd Bowles. No pass rush. Can’t tackle. Cant cover. Soft coverage. Crappy scheme. Todd Bowles. 3rd and 28. Team quit on their coach….
Then after all of that happened Team Glazer brings back Todd Bowles. Like I said, it’s a sh!t show. I wouldn’t come back, especially if I want to win a ring. He went to a better organization, with a better GM and a MUCH better head coach and they will play meaningful games. Bucs will be lucky to win 6 or 7 next season.
Thank you Big Mike. You are one of the greatest Bucs of all time. Now go win another ring.
March 9th, 2026 at 4:00 pm
Business decision. Mike was already generationally wealthy. Courtesy of the Bucs. If he’s wearing chasing now, good luck to him. They are a good team. Probably closer than we are. But we’ve lost other Legends and have won without them. It’ll be easy to see soon enough how this impacts both teams.
March 9th, 2026 at 4:00 pm
A proud Texan will regret going from FL to CA. 60 mil sounds nice but CA gonna take a large % of that.
March 9th, 2026 at 4:01 pm
* Ring chasing
March 9th, 2026 at 4:02 pm
If some of y’all will get out of your feelings it was better for both parties and for joe who is on this buc for life stuff it was just a marketing gimmick it happens all the time. I hope for Mike’s continued success and he will retire a buc either way. Go bucs.
March 9th, 2026 at 4:02 pm
Love Mike, but if he wanted to stay he would have stayed. the WR room is fine, spend the money elsewhere. You don’t run a business on feelings. Mike wanted more money, he got more money. Next
March 9th, 2026 at 4:03 pm
He’s washed, cannot stay off of IR, time for a change.
March 9th, 2026 at 4:03 pm
Props to Mike. He saw the writing on the wall. Time to burn it all down, get head coach and a defensive coordinator, and rebuild. Credit to him for not ending his career in a dumpster fire.
March 9th, 2026 at 4:04 pm
60 mil is a lot in any state the cope is crazy around here lmao I’ve lived in California and Florida both are great you guys are weird.
March 9th, 2026 at 4:04 pm
All the fans shaming fans for being bummed out about the Evans news need to explain why this team under Bowles and Licht will be a playoff contender next season? If we make this stupid non-move, then how much more likely are we to make the playoffs? I don’t see it.
Evans should be a Buc.
March 9th, 2026 at 4:05 pm
MIKE CHOSE TO LEAVE. He knew he wouldn’t get the targets and volume to get himself in the top 10 for receiving stats with so many mouths to feed on our offense. From a xs and os standpoint, this could actually be a good thing for our Bucs. I love Mike and am grateful for a dozen great years, but im a Bucs fan first. Im gonna focus on the 53 guys wearing red and pewter this fall
March 9th, 2026 at 4:07 pm
Could have restructured some deals and made some big splashes including keeping Mike. Either the Glazers or Licht or them in tandem didn’t think this team was worth it. If Mike had seen that commitment or at least been assured that they had big plans to go all in, Mike, I believe, would still be a Buccaneer!
March 9th, 2026 at 4:13 pm
I would advise Baker to be like all other quarterbacks and to protect himself more on the field and if injured, not to play. I’m not sure I believe Licht when he says that all that the Bucs do revolves around Baker. I would advise him to look out for himself because the Bucs clearly aren’t all in on him.
March 9th, 2026 at 4:15 pm
I hope I am wrong in saying that and that maybe they do have a plan in place!
March 9th, 2026 at 4:16 pm
Yep. Should have never happened. They should have signed him 2–3 more years after last season.
By keeping Bowle but throwing out the entire defensive staff under him, thus showing no clear path for the future and towards the Super Bowl, they but guaranteed he was walking.
They have a great receiver room and are set for the future, but this should’ve never happened
March 9th, 2026 at 4:17 pm
They went 2-7 in their last nine games and Bowles and Baker and basically the rest of the team did nothing to stop it. The Brady effect is gone. Evans felt it and he left. He’s been getting hurt and I wasn’t paying him that much money anyway.
Enjoy shaky town Mike. Good luck with Purdy throwing it to you.
March 9th, 2026 at 4:17 pm
32 year old wide receiver who puts his hand up and wants out after every catch. Is good for hamstring problem every season. Hope that things work out for ME in San Fran. ME is smart enough to know that the Bucs are rich at the WR position and there is only one ball. His chances of competing in a SB are very much better with San Fran. Pretty sure he won’t have 3rd and 28 anytime in his 49er career.
March 9th, 2026 at 4:19 pm
Between Todd and his poor arse decision to hire Grizzard, Mike has seen enough. Let’s not forget how long Mike played at an elite level during the lost decade. Todd blew it. Jason blew it. The Glazers blew it…BUT we still actually have one hell of a receiver corp
March 9th, 2026 at 4:19 pm
MIKE SAW THE WRITING ON THE WALL WITH THIS COACHING STAFF ! JOHN LYNCH WAS OUT TO GET HIM. THATS GREAT .HE HAS A LOT LEFT IN THE TANK . GO GET ANOTHER RING WITH A BETTER COACHING STAFF AND BETTER OWNERS ! FOOTBALL OWNERS ! ALL THE BEST MIKE YOU MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE ! 😁
March 9th, 2026 at 4:20 pm
Thanks for all you did for or team Mike!
Now I need to go vomit.
March 9th, 2026 at 4:22 pm
Bro you think Jerry Rice ended his career with the Niners? He had a decent year with the Raiders when we beat them in the SB but after that nothing to write home about
March 9th, 2026 at 4:26 pm
Glazers need to fire JL and Todd immediately.
March 9th, 2026 at 4:27 pm
This is day by JL cooked his sorry ass
March 9th, 2026 at 4:28 pm
Jason Licht cannot draft a mf Edge. Etcetera
And Todd Bowles is a garbage HC who lost M1K3 many Etceteras and needs to go immediately
March 9th, 2026 at 4:28 pm
Explain howcthe literal fck we arent getting any compensatiry picks losing evans and dean and San Francisco is getting freaking 4 draft picks this is literally the biggest crock of sh ive ever seen. The nfl is a scam
March 9th, 2026 at 4:32 pm
Bro, he always wanted to play elsewhere. Even two years ago, he wanted to but it just didn’t happen. Now, he gets to experience an elite coach and be the prima wide receiver. Screw this talk about Mike being a team guy, he wants to be the main guy and now he will be, and why not? I just pray he stays healthy so he can get some games and add to his illustrious resume. Just not in the post-season 😉
March 9th, 2026 at 4:35 pm
Heart-broken to hear this…but even the best leave one day for one reason or another. God bless you ME, been a fan since day-1 in ’74, no doubt you’ve been the Bucs best WR ever, bar none.
That said, Bucs have a covey of very good wide receivers so give Baker better protection and this can still be a top 5 offense next season.
And with a big hole in the payroll now after ME has left, let’s go get some damn defensive help so 3-28 turns into 4-35 or a damn interception!
Go Bucs!
March 9th, 2026 at 4:40 pm
Lots of teams would trade their ownership for ours when you look at SuperBowl and Division wins over the last 30 years. When the Glazers have had a good QB, we’ve done well.
We are loaded on offense and something had to give so we could load back up on defense. Good teams part ways with players before they drop off the cliff. Love Mike Evans but we’ve started 3 receivers in the last two years that are producing and need defense.
March 9th, 2026 at 4:41 pm
Correction… drafted 3 receivers in last two years
March 9th, 2026 at 4:42 pm
I have always liked JL but keeping TB was probably the reason Mike left. I hold JL accountable for Mike leaving. JL job should be on the line if this season is a bust again too.
March 9th, 2026 at 4:44 pm
It sucks when a legend moves on but given the fact we will still have a damn good receiver group. it wont hurt to have the money to spend elsewhere. Next year is a crap shoot anyway with Bowles still here.
March 9th, 2026 at 4:47 pm
Mike did his fan base a big favor with his league-wide (lack of) endorsement of the Bucs organization from the top down.
We’ve been singing the “you stink” song to the Glazers, Jason, and Todd, but to have ME chime into the chorus with a loud, clear voice is really remarkable and significant.
This will give Bowles something he can reflect on from this day forward.
Everyone seemed to understand the raw emotion behind the “3rd and 28” that Mike made so abundantly clear for the Bucs faithful — except for Licht and the Glazers.
The goodbye note posted by the Glazers was heart-warming. I hope they look forward to eating copies of it daily when Mike finds success and establishes a new home in San Fran.
Buc for life? Not with you losers.
March 9th, 2026 at 4:49 pm
it’s all about the optics with these creeps
March 9th, 2026 at 4:53 pm
For three years I’ve been treated to a wide receiver who seems to run to the sidelines every time he catches a pass. Can’t seem to squeeze out any yards after the catch. Lucky his arms are freakishly long and Baker is a great QB or he’d be lucky to get a target considering he can’t seem to get any separation. Seems like he was dropping as many as he was bobbling perfect passes before catching them. Good riddance there Mike. We’re a better team now, not a doubt in my mind. I guess you could say Mike Evans has really pi$$ed me off today.

For everything Mike did and meant to the fans of Tampa the Bucs should have paid the man. How many times did he restructure his contract? How many times did he take a team friendly deal? How do the Bucs repay him? By not paying him. Also he had a front row seat to the abortion known as the Bucs defense. I can’t blame him at all. Unlike others I will be rooting for Mike to have a fantastic year next year and hopefully get to the Super Bowl. What a freaking shame the Bucs owners and brass really don’t understand what he meant to the real Bucs fans who have lived and died with this team.

I so agree with your comments. Mike has aways been about team and community. The Bucs ownership and brass could use more of that attitude. Dang…..

I guess we know why we went with Ebuka in Rd 1 last year. Can’t convince me this wasn’t a done deal before the season started at this point.

@Ricki
I’ve said that, too! The fans should seriously consider boycotting the team.

@John
I’ve even said the same thing about how sometimes the fans could probably do just as good.

I think Mike just wanted out and I can’t really blame him, although it had to be a LOT more money to offset the high taxes in California. He knows Bowles is not the guy, as most of us know, getting the the GM and owners to know it is another thing.

Let’s just rename him Coach 3-28.

The writing was on the wall when the Bucs drafted Evan’s replacement in the 1st round last year and now all of the sudden everyone is acting surprised. Get real.

He’s hurt 10 games a year, will be 33 – spend it on youth and the D.

Dude get over it
He wanted to leave simple
Taxes will eat everything he’ll make less his agent to thank for

I’m thinking that, money wise, his agent DID NOT want him to take this contract.

The bottom line is Mike Evans wanted out. A new challenge, SB ring, or anything he’d yet achieve wasn’t going to happen in Tampa. No spin. Reload, rebuild, whatever, but disappoinment and frustration likely lingers

There are still players out there who fit our needs so we could still put together a very solid free agency.
We kept the status quo at TE which isn’t terrible Otton is more receiving TE than blocking so he will fill the role of Kyle Pitts. One need filled.
Gainwell is a solid RB so probably about a wash there but the immediate need is filled at RB. We will sign another RB in FA.
We upgraded at ILB and while we still have a need there we aren’t out two starters.
We still have of course a big need at Edge but there are players still out there who might be upgrades for us.

We will never hear the truth
But I would love to know why Evans left
Money was not it ~~Bucs couldn’t beat 20 million from a California team
Just the taxes in California give us a 1-2 million dollar advantage
Bucs wouldn’t give 18-19 million for Evans we gave Godwin more than that
Sorry Mike THE FANS WILL MISS YOU
ALWAYS A BUC TO ME!!!!
