Bucs Now Have One-In-Four Shot Of Playing In Europe This Fall

Most folks don’t like it; most folks hate it. But these games aren’t going anywhere. In fact, there will only be more.
NFL regular season games being played overseas aggravate fans of the “home” team. Joe gets it. That’s one less party day that you’ve waited for all year long.
But Joe also gets that there is a whole lot of gold in them thar hills in the Alps, in the Serranía del Ajuscos, in the Sierra de Guadarramas, in the Serra dos Órgãos and in the Blue Mountains.
NFL owners aren’t known for turning down cash laying on the sidewalk.
What does this have to do with the Bucs? Well, two teams the Bucs will play on the road this fall, the Lions and the Dixie Chicks, will have home games in Europe.
The Lions will host a game in Munich. The Dixie Chicks will host a game in Madrid. Both are on the Bucs’ 2026 road schedule.
The Bucs have eight road games this year. Two opponents will host a game in Europe. So that’s a one-in-four chance, 25 percent, the Bucs will need to have their passports up to date. (Yes, Joe knows the math on probability doesn’t add up that way, but it’s fun to think of it that way nonetheless).
If the Bucs play in Munich, Joe can only advise fans to start looking for loose change in between your couch pillows.
Back in 2022, Joe didn’t know what to expect covering the Bucs in Munich. The experience blew Joe away. Not just a football thing, but a life experience.
If the Bucs play in Munich, Joe just has one word to offer.
“Go!”

But ‘fun’ – not so sure.
Also the Eurotrash are never going to accept real football, just like we’re never going to accept that 3rd world game played by girls in middle school, known as soccer.
The NFL has been trying this nonsense since NFL Europe failed. It’s never going to take off. The tiny Eurotrash brain can’t understand all the rules of real football – all they know are soccer rules, “kick ball in net,” anything more complex than that and they get lost. Also whatever their watching needs to be simple since they’re all drunk – which of course is a byproduct of watching something as boring as soccer since you need to entertain yourself for 99% of the game (well 99% metric, 100% imperial).
Anyways, give it up already NFL. It’s never going to happen, we can not drag up the rest of the world to our standards.

Had a great time at the last 2 international games we played. Lost 1 and won 1. Wins are always better but they were both great experiences. Madrid or Munich, I am there!

I looked up the TV ratings for Germany, and you’re right, they’re quite a bit better than I was expecting. Also, I’m reminded of one of the two NFL Europe teams I still remember by name, the Frankfurt Galaxy – and I do recall them doing big numbers way back in ‘the day’.
Also Joe, if you end up going to Germany again, here’s some Grade A comedy you can use on the locals there, they’ll love it.

I saw the Bucs game in Munich in 2022. I’ve not been to a Super Bowl but it was an amazing experience and I’d do it again. Would love to go to Madrid.

Bucs never travel as the road team overseas so doubtful on a trip to Germany or Spain. Jags giving up 3 home games to go to the London area. What free agent would want to spend a almost a month in London? That should impact Liam’s ability to sign Buc free agents.
