Report: Maxx Crosby Irked At Raiders Part-Owner Tom Brady

February 13th, 2026

Locking horns with Tom Brady.

Former Bucs quarterback Tom Brady is still making headlines.

And the headline that directly interests Bucs fans has nothing to do with Brady being handsy with Alex Earle in San Francisco last weekend.

Bucs fans want Maxx Crosby. What sane fan wouldn’t given how the Bucs have such a lousy pass defense, in part because the team lacks an edge rusher that makes an opposing quarterback wet his pants in the fourth quarter of games?

Crosby is peeved at the Raiders and wants out. Jay Glazer said at the Super Bowl that Crosby is done in Las Vegas.

Per Albert Breer of SI.com, who is as well-plugged in as any NFL reporter, Crosby’s beef with the Raiders stems from him being shut down the final two games of the season to begin the rehab on an injured knee. Crosby was outraged

And it seems he indirectly blames Brady. Why Brady, who is not even a coach on the team or a team doctor or trainer?

Crosby, per Breer, seems to think the order for him to sit came from Brady. And while Brady did not personally tell Crosby the news, Alex Guerrero did.

Yeah, that Alex Guerrero, Brady’s personal trainer and noted TB12 Svengali who got himself banned from Patriots headquarters years ago for encroaching on set boundaries within the organization.

When Brady was with the Bucs, Guerrero had an office at One Buc Palace, in part, to get Bucs players hooked on the TB12 potion.

Crosby, per Breer, views Guerrero as nothing more than Brady’s spy and personal mole at Raiders headquarters. As a result, Crosby is done with the Raiders unless somehow he and Brady can mend fences. So it seems as long as Crosby and Brady are feuding, there’s a chance Crosby could end up with Tampa Bay (or another team).

Brady seems like the kind of guy who, if you don’t like him and don’t want to work for him, he’ll happily grant one’s wish to get shipped out.

Maxx Crosby isn’t coming here #!!

  2. Baking with Robinson Says:

Todd’s son said Crosby can’t drop back and cover. He does not qualifies to play on TampaBowles scheme. lol

Guys, I think Lee nailed it in your latest podcast with Ira.

Bucco Bruce Arians told Todd Bowles explicitly that the far and away number one priority for our edge rushers would be to… wait for it… edge rush!

I don’t think Arians stuck his nose too, too far into the defensive play calling, but I do believe he set down a couple of larger picture rules/guidelines, whatever, that he wanted Bowles to follow. Edge rush was one of them.

I don’t mean this in a negative way, but I’m a little surprised we haven’t seen an article from you guys suggesting the same thing. I’ve mentioned it once or twice in past comments. Of course, it’s possible you did and I missed it.

Why else would we go from having an edge rush as a priority to it suddenly not being a priority, and more to the point that it’s literally dismissed? The only constant in the whole scenario is the current head coach. (Fair enough, you can add Jason Licht and the Glazers in as constants, who, for reasons I can’t understand, don’t seem to have a problem with Bowles’ philosophy.)

As for Maxx Crosby and Tom Brady, if that’s true, wow.

I can only go by what I see in press conferences/interviews, and what I read, but Brady doesn’t strike me as the type to sick his henchman on someone with news like that. I think he’d do it on his own. But, I could be wrong, and if I am, it was a bogus move on Brady’s part. I don’t know enough about Crosby “the person”, to offer thoughts on how true or close to the truth his claim is.

In the larger picture, I’m up in the air about bringing in Crosby or Hendrickson, etc.

Anyone playing at that level would be an upgrade, and I’m all for it. We need a serious edge rush. But, what’s the point given the position of our head coach and front office? We’d just be throwing good money away.

Yesterday in the Ira podcast, it was brought up about how much compensation the Bucs should give up for Crosby. Someone mentioned a first rounder and a “conditional” second first rounder if Crosby reached some set criteria like playing in 15 games and getting 9 or 15 sacks, etc…. I doubt the Raiders would go for that because I can see a scenario with the Bucs being 5-8 and circling the drain so that the Bucs bench Crosby to save the first round pick by not allowing him to reach those incentives. What stops a team from shutting down a player to keep from giving up another draft pick via incentive clauses if the team is in tank mode?????

  5. mg Says:

The dude could not improve the Raiders.

  6. DrunkInYbor Says:

We will draft a de and it will be a reach. One of those freak athletes that didnt produce many sacks in college. But…Boy..Oh..Boy with Todd to help mold him into a corner then the sky is the limit.

  7. Sal Volatile Says:

    Don’t forget the Spytek connection.

  8. Razorramone Says:

If they could make the Crosby thing work it would be awesome. But you know the parable about the scorpion and the frog? Well, Todd is the scorpion.

  9. Beeej Says:

That edge guy Howell from Texas Tech (mebbe A&M) has 7 picks over the last 2 seasons!

  10. Buc Fan in Phoenix Says:

Rest assured Bucs fans! The Bucs will find a DE in the draft who is a choir boy, is kind to small children and animals, knows which pronouns to use, and can drop back in pass coverage.

  11. Bucccnasty Says:

I really wish we would just trade a 1st and 3rd for this guy. Not saying Licht isn’t a fantastic drafting GM (he is amazing) but he can’t hit an edge to save his life… it’s worth it for a guy like Crosby especially given his favorable contract (compared to other elites like Garrett or parsons). I just don’t see the Bucs making this kinda splash play but I really wish we would, we seem a lot closer than people think. I mean keep in mind we just came off a season that seems somewhat similar to the Eagles collapse a few years ago (news saying we’re the best team in football to all of a sudden nose dive…) and look how that worked out for Philly the following season with the right offseason moves (Super Bowl champs)…. I’m just saying with a hell of an offseason and a swing on a guy like Crosby in all in on the Bucs being real contenders again, even if I’m starting to glance over at the Can Bowles Train with some good interest as of late…

  12. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“That edge guy Howell from Texas Tech (mebbe A&M) has 7 picks over the last 2 seasons!”

I smile when I see him get knocked on scouting reports as “undersized” knowing he’s the same size as Shaq Barrett lol. Kids’ ability to bend is so ridiculous, it almost looks fake.

  13. Mike C Says:

Love how people say “he is NOT coming to Tampa ” like the Bucs are some toxic waste land of football, Tom Brady came here…… if he can, anyone can.

  14. lambchop Says:

    @FortMyersDave,

Did you read the article? Maxx is pissed he was shut down. Another team would be so stupid to do the same and burn the boats with their shiny new FA acquisition. Maxx isn’t going to keep quiet about it either and there goes the locker room.

  15. Brandon Says:

Maxx Crosby is worth his huge contract and that is it. Winning teams are built through the draft… with picking up an important piece or two occasionally through free agency and sometimes shrewd trades. JPP is a great example… Khalil Mack, Darrelle Revis, Herschel Walker, are great examples of trades that hurt the franchises that received them. They gave up valuable picks for a player that was good but good enough to be paid both an incredible salary and also require premium compensation.

  16. Ballwasher61 Says:

My question is this: Bowles said during his tirade and at various times that the team needs to finish with sacks of the QB, also that it is important to sack the QB and yet I read that edge rushers aren’t a big deal to him. Where does one expect sacks to come from? “Edge” rushers can either be down lineman or linebackers, with most of the edge guy’s being linebackers today. Stunts are run to create confusion, Houston does that well but you have to have guys inside eating space for someone, anyone, to come free from either inside or outside. I think they should move Roberts in at end in their 3/4 and move Kancey to outside, he has the read & recognition to see the play quick plus the speed to get to the play.

  17. gp Says:

    Vanessa Anne nailed it.
What’s the use if he’s not going to be used as the pass rush specialist he is.
