Ex-Players Have Baker Mayfield’s Back
January 22nd, 2026Whenever there is something that doesn’t make sense in football, a safe bet is that the source of the nonsense is the PFF tribe.
This is no different.
Joe spends a lot of time on social media, mostly for research, some for fun. That means Joe inhales a lot of Twitter smoke from the numbers nerds who are thick as fleas on the site.
Over the years, they seem enamored with new Dixie Chicks coach and former Browns failure Kevin Stefanski. Joe never understood this.
What was so special about Stefanski? How many playoff games did he win? The Browns sure seemed like they were picking in the top-10 of the draft most of the time Stefanski was in Cleveland.
Just look at all the quarterbacks that guy went through in Cleveland. Joe is convinced Chucky is jealous of all the quarterbacks Stefanski pulled in and threw out in such a short period of time.
The best quarterback Stefanski had was Baker Mayfield and he ran Mayfield out of town. How’d that work out?
Outside of possibly old man Joe Flacco, can anyone name a quarterback Stefanski made better? Bueller?
So why does Joe regularly read on Twitter that Stefanski is some modern day Bucco Bruce Arians? As always, when something doesn’t make any sense, Joe turns to the PFF tribe. And sure enough, last year the PFF tribe had Stefanski as the No. 10 returning coach. Ha!
On Wednesday night, Mayfield decided to liven up an otherwise boring late-January day when he unloaded on Stefanski on Twitter. Good for Baker! Since, a lot of folks on the national hollering shows are having Mayfield’s back, mocking Stefanski as arrogant, cold and condescending.
This drama is great for the NFL and it seems NFL fans throughout the country are waiting to find out when the Bucs and the Dixie Chicks next play.
Mayfield will be ready!
🔥 The Browns & Baker. National Media Slams Stefanski 😂

Zac Robinson as our OC. What a way to start the morning
January 22nd, 2026 at 7:21 am
What a joke, when no one wants to come here, you settle.
January 22nd, 2026 at 7:21 am
I am glad Baker had his say and that others are cheering on Baker too. I mean, a coach ghosting your calls is pretty bad. And just throwing you out like you are nothing is equally bad. Just not right.

Good way to start.
He coached under McVay and was there for Bakers short time with the Rams.
It’s a good hire.
I’ll let the rest of you clowns complain about it.

Staying in the McVay coaching tree is a good idea. Let’s hope the players come back healthy and we fix the defense with free agency and the draft.

@chuckys Bucs
You insult everyone before they respond because you know the second someone asks why, your entire argument collapses like Bowles’ Defense vs 3rd rate QBs.
Sit down Chucky. You’re clearly past your prime just like your handle name🤣

2027 Top Five pick guaranteed.
Hopefully Jason is not around to F it up.
January 22nd, 2026 at 7:41 am
Baker’s new offensive coordinator should help him get back to previous form.
January 22nd, 2026 at 7:42 am
Just noise to distract from the collapse.
January 22nd, 2026 at 7:44 am
I think Robinson is a good hire
January 22nd, 2026 at 7:46 am
Zac Robinson is potentially a great hire. What’s wrong with people?
January 22nd, 2026 at 7:53 am
its funny we keep seeing everyone talk about zac coaching with baker in LA, no one seems to be interested that hes shredded our defense countless times with guys like cousins, this hire isnt even about making baker better, its going to actually help bowles understand why hes getting leveled by some opponents. ( at this point we couldnt be much worse)

Scoring
• Buccaneers: 22.4 PPG (18th)
• Falcons: 20.8 PPG (23rd)
Yardage
• Buccaneers: 320.4 yards/game (21st)
• Falcons: 333.0 yards/game (14th)
3rd Down
• Buccaneers: 41.23% (11th)
• Falcons: 33.33% (30th)
Red Zone TD rate
• Buccaneers: 54.0% (24th)
• Falcons: 62.0% (10th)
Grizzard: scored more and were much better on 3rd down, but were worse in the red zone and produced less yardage overall.
Robinson: moved the ball better by yards/play and total yards, were strong in the red zone, but killed themselves on 3rd down, which dragged down scoring.
Just because he comes from the McVay tree doesn’t mean he’s automatically going to be a great OC. Production, adaptability and results do. Just because he was there when Baker was doesn’t mean he’s going to be Liam 2.0. He more closely resembles Grizzard and Canales.

I’ve watched the kid for the last 20 years. He may not be a Sooner but he’s a Cowboy and that’s close enough. I hated the idea of McDaniel and didn’t know if we could get Zac or not. Bravo if we got him. I remember watching him sitting up in the box orchestrating feeble Kurt Cousins to 500 freaking yards. He was laughing and high fivin his assistant’s. Very competitive, young, and we took him from the Falcons.
January 22nd, 2026 at 8:02 am
Who cares about the players. Coaches don’t like to coach Mayfield. He is way too self righteous/ entitled. Liam bolted because of him. Canales the same. He is a cup half empty guy. Just imagine Debbie Downer wearing a Bucs uniform.
January 22nd, 2026 at 8:02 am
When he signed on the bottom line let me know. Until then it’s another rumor like all the others.
January 22nd, 2026 at 8:05 am
Stephanski had 13 starting QB ‘s under his leadership and he is a complete failure as a coach., so I don’t know why everybody is so worked up about Atlanta. And if Zack Robinson is so great, how come nobody else wanted him? and why is he signing up to work with Bowles and Licht who are laughing stocks right now and who nobody else wants to work with? Might as well have just kept Grizzard whose stats are so similar to Robinson’s it probably won’t change anything. The only thing to be hopeful about for the coming season is that the Stephanski hiring seems to have reignited the fire in Baker which could lead to good things.
January 22nd, 2026 at 8:09 am
LMAO. Liam and Canales bolted because of Baker? Please tell us who you know that stated that. They were offered Head Coaching jobs! Coen was staying untill Jacksonville fired the GM. Which is exactly what was stated on GMFB what happened.

Boy most of you guys that comment on this site
would give Johnny [Randy Quaid] a run for his money

This is most of you..

Hopefully fish hawk was just being sarcastic.
Haven’t followed Robinson enough to have an opinion, but he didn’t have a ton to work with in Atlanta. One great running back and a receiver who was injured a good amount of time this year.
January 22nd, 2026 at 8:20 am
Fishhawkbuc what the hell are you talking about? “Coaches don’t like coaching Baker Mayfield” That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard on this comment forum, and it is also completely untrue. Everybody that has played with baker, and coached baker, for the most part, love him, loved coaching him, and love and respect the way he plays the game. Except maybe the browns who are nothing but a joke. . You obviously know nothing about football. I bet you blame our lost season on Baker too because he had a couple of interceptions and because you obviously don’t know enough about football to know how God awful our defense was all season. You aren’t even aware that if it weren’t for baker, we would never have been in a damn game, much less the season at all last year. Learn something about the game and the person before you criticize someone and something you know nothing about🙄

Grizzard was a disaster as a play caller. He had no imagination, was always very late in getting the play calls which left no time to audible out of the play and failed with called plays many times in getting one yard when the team was in the red zone.

Baker made those two skates. His excellence boosted them and their careers. When Baker finally gets a coach who knows how to shoot a big gun there will be no stopping him.
Its going to happen soon. Look at the Buc opponents this coming season,.
This will be Bakers greatest and most challenging year but he is ready now. Gut check time. Super Bowl or bust.
The greatest players player their greatest games whe the most is on the line against their greatest adversaries.
Can’t wait. Baker and the Bucs are going to face the whose who of the NFL. Many tremendous games this coming season.
January 22nd, 2026 at 8:28 am
Funny when jbf polled you clowns only 18 out of 544 voted for him. Today he’s pure gold. In 2 years with the Falcons he didn’t make the playoffs or even manage to win more games than lose. Yep he’s our savior all right. With him and fat a$$ we a destined for greatness. What a effing joke. I’m sure the Joes are getting ready to unleash a plethora of pro Robinson propaganda that would make any communist proud. Todd Bowles should have been fired after his monumental collapse especially with so many options to replace him available. Nope we got Zac Robinson. What a crock of sh*t

January 22nd, 2026 at 8:41 am
So we hired Robinson I’m ok with it
January 22nd, 2026 at 8:45 am
Robinson was stuck with aging Cousins and young Penix. Penix is so limited he can’t even take snaps from under center–dude has to be in shotgun or pistol, which takes away SOOOO many things an OC could do. Can’t understand why they drafted him
January 22nd, 2026 at 8:47 am
Don’t care who the OC is as long as we win. Hopefully he can do well for us, but wish we would’ve gotten McDaniel. Ah well, tough to get the top
OC on the market when your coach is a lame duck. Go Bucs!
More interested in seeing if Bowles’ defense can actually stop
People next year, adding teeth to the edge rush, and stop playing complicated, dumb ass zone defenses that get you torched. Simplify it, win, or be gone!
January 22nd, 2026 at 9:00 am
Sure. He can replace Bridgewater as QB2.
January 22nd, 2026 at 9:10 am
We should have kept Grizzard. It was his 1st time as a play caller and with all of the O-line injuries he had to deal with, he did a decent job. Kinda stupid that they only gave him one year to learn.
January 22nd, 2026 at 9:18 am
Joebucsfan2023 I agree with you. Grizzard was a disaster. In my opinion his unimaginative play calling ruined Baker’s passing game and slowly killed our offense as the season progressed, but it also doesn’t change the fact that Robinson’s stats are damn near identical to Grizzards. The only plus is that Baker seems to be ok with Robinson and did not get along with Grizzard from the reporting I have seen. Hopefully that will make the difference, but I personally am still not excited about Robinson. .
