Next Up, The Historically Miserable Saints

December 2nd, 2025

The Saints offense is on a miserable roll spanning seven games —  far worse that what Bucs fans endured in The Lost Decade.

What a great week it is to hate on the Saints with the Bucs hosting them this Sunday. But the fun is missing because the Saints are so horrible this season. The sport of it all feels lacking.

Consider the following facts:

New Orleans is on a streak of seven consecutive games scoring less than 20 points. Heck, the brutal Bucs offense of 2013 never went four games in a row failing to hit 20 points. And Tampa Bay’s heinous Josh McCown offense in 2014 maxed out at five consecutive games scoring under 20 points, and they were tanking!

During this ugly Saints streak, New Orleans’ worst day was against the shaky Bucs defense — three points back in October. What does that say?

Over the past seven games, the Saints have averaged 12.9 points per game. Joe doesn’t believe in NFL coincidences.

For all those who watched the Saints-Dolphins game Sunday and want to say, ‘but the Saints might have won if receiver Chris Olave didn’t drop a touchdown pass,’ Joe is happy to point you to Chris Godwin’s dropped touchdown right in his numbers Sunday. That cost the Bucs four points and a stress-free, two-score “W” against the Cardinals. That’s football.

Joe will offer kudos to the Saints for pulling off the desperation onside kick miracle late in the game after trailing 16-0 at halftime.

One Saints stat that surely has Todd Bowles drooling is through the past seven games, the Saints have turned the ball over a stunning 16 times — sixteen. For perspective, the Bucs have nine turnovers all season.

Yes, the Bucs will welcome the NFC’s most impotent team at the perfect time.

Well Joe don’t get over excited here. Yes the Saints are bad. However, this is a division game so throw everything out the window.
Throw everything out the window? That’s coachspeak silliness.–Joe
The Saints would love nothing more than to ruin any playoff hopes the Bucs have. The Bucs being the Bucs this year well, who knows. If they come out slow and playing not interested, who knows anything is possible.
Hopefully Godwin gets going more and Bucky too. The last game while not stellar did show hope that things may change offensively. I liked the play calling better too. I saw White being used more in the passing game and like when him and Irving were in the game at the same time.
The Defense still allowing people to run up and down the field. We have seen this defense is capable of giving up points.
Is this game a slam dunk?, I doubt it the Bucs seem to allow teams to hang in there. Yes, all you need to do is look at last week. I guess if we do fall to the Saints then the team needs to be done for the season. Thus far I just have not seen the hunger they all talked about in the preseason! Somehow I expect this game to be no different, until they prove otherwise

Should we win easily? Yes. Will we? Based on last week, I just don’t know. The OC can’t seem to dial anything in. The HC/DC’a approach feels stale. It just doesn’t seem like there’s a shred of fire, passion or urgency heading into this game. Can’t you see us coming out FLAT?!?! It’s what we do.

  3. Dan the Bucs Fan Says:

We should continue to look better on offensive as our weapons get healthy and play their way back into game shape. We need to get this at home continue to rebuild our confidence as a team. I expect us to win but Saints to be competive it is a rivalry.

  4. ModHairKen Says:

Stop writing how much they suck.

    Zyon is getting bored.

  5. Bojim Says:

Isn’t Cousins playing? Might not be so easy if you know what I mean. 🙁

  6. BA’s Red Pen Says:

    F the saints.

  7. Fred McNeil Says:

Well, the ads say football is only played to sell food, right? Well we finish the season with a fish sandwich on Carolina toast. At least I hope the bread is toasted.

  8. Itzok Says:

Tyler shucks will throw for over 300 yards against this Def. I see another game like the Cardinals. A team the bucs should beat by 21 will be a 6 point win as the rookie qb has a game killing interception

  9. Winny Testaverde Says:

Countdown to the Kiss of Death in 3…2…1.

Bucs will get the Taints best effort/shot. Taysum Hill might even turn back the clock 3 years or so for this one.

If you can’t beat this Taints team at home…you don’t deserve a spot in the playoffs.

  10. Smarter than Joe Says:

Aints will be within 1 score in the 4th quarter

Todd’s awful defense makes every game a losable affair

  11. Bartow Buc Says:

Joe, I wouldn’t count on the Slimy Saints to roll over and let the Bucs beat em !! The game could look a lot like last years home game with the Saints, and it was quite a contest !!
I believe the final score was 27-17 Bucs, but the game was led by the Saints until the fourth quarter. Us fans were all shaking in our boots !!
I’m sure the coaches and players are not overlooking the Saints game.
Hopefully, Tez Johnson and EE 2 will get some receptions in this game to help them sharpen up their skills.
Also, I’m looking for the Buccaneers to make use of BI 7, RW 1, and Sean Tucker as well !!
But realistically, the Bucs offense should put up a 40 burger on the Saints
And finally, the Slimy Saints are known for cheap shots on Baker, and in the condition he’s in, we don’t need any of that !!

Go Bucs !! Beat the Slimy Saints !!

  12. Bartow Buc Says:

Forgot to add that Chris Godwin, CG14 should burn the Saints for 2 or 3 touchdowns!!

Go Bucs !! Beat the Slimy Saints !!
