San Francisco Does The Bucs A Solid

November 25th, 2025

Helped Bucs out.

The 49ers put the hammer down on the Stinking Panthers last night.

Why is that important? Because with a win, the Stinking Panthers (6-6) would have taken over first place in the NFC South, pushing the Bucs (6-5) into second place.

The way the Bucs have played since the bye, specifically the defense, this team is trending down. Teams with bad defenses generally crumble late in the season and Joe fears that is what is happening now.

If the Bucs are to make the playoffs, they are going to have to win the division. And the Bucs need all the help they can muster the way they’ve been playing after the bye.

With Baker Mayfield now hurt and his immediate status uncertain, the Bucs very easily collapse.

What once looked like a sure thing (playoffs) is anything but a lock.

panthers schedule = tough road ahead

  2. FortMyersDave Says:

Bucs were lucky that Bryce Young had a horrible night. Brock Purdy was not much better with 3 picks but the Niners controlled the clock. Canales went for 2 after the Panthers scored their only TD, he must have been channeling Bowles on that one. Rams 10 point favorites at Carolina next week.

  3. Waterboy Says:

Purdy tried his best to give it to them but fortunately they didn’t want it.

  4. WestCoastBucsFan Says:

A Panthers loss and news that Baker’s shoulder is (just) a low-grade sprain–I’ll take it. Redeems at least a little bit what was a bad showing Sunday night. Could’ve been a lot worse. I just hope this year’s mid-year slump is over soon, like now.

  5. ModHairKen Says:

    It’s just prolonging the inevitable

  6. Rod Munch Says:

At least we have the week 6 ESPN Power Poll title and week 6 MVP, that’s got to count for something to the playoff team selection committee.

  7. Rod Munch Says:

You guys are all wrong about the Rams game. The Bucs had nearly double the rushing yards of the Rams and easily won the time of possession. Outside of the score, it was basically a perfect game.

  8. Christos Says:

So after all the preseason hype, after all the contenders talk during the first part of the season where are we now.
In the standard midseason yearly tradition of waiting other teams in the division lose so we go to the playoffs.
    Day of the marmot.
Nothing changes. We just have to make a couple more tackles and a couple more plays. That is the only problem.

  9. MadMax Says:

    We already collapsed….its over.

Where Im at so far…..will probably change a little according to our 1st rd placement.

    1. Christen Miller
    2. Whit Weeks
    3. Sawyer Robertson

  10. MadMax Says:

Of course I’d love Sonny Styles or Cj Allen, but they’re probably gone by the time we pick.

  11. MadMax Says:

But, if we pick at 19 and hes there

    LB Sonny Styles
    DT A’mauri Washington
    TE Michael Trigg
QB Sawyer Robertson (we need a capable young bu)
    RB Leveon Moss

  12. LVMYBUCS Says:

Bucs organization has low expectations from Bowles.

  13. Obvious One Says:

Boy I gotta say I’ve read it All non stop since Sunday night. Now repeated Thousands of times over and over. It’s a shame it’s come to this. BUT IT HAS..

It’s not as “refreshing” as you may think to have spelled it out all Off season and the Off season before, and to have been “Spot On”, on All the points that have been laid out concerning our Desperate Need for a New Answer at head coach/DC by the HUNDREDS of different fans. Seems many were reading what I and a few others were so desperately pointing out. WARNING the Entirety of Bucs Nation to DEMAND BETTER Before it was Too Late!

Now I’d preferred that Todd kept trending upward. We STILL need a competent head coach after all and for a short time it Really “Looked” like Todd FINALLY turned the corner. I know it’s Easy to forget, but IT WAS the Defense that saved our bacon for a few games and Not the offense. Did everybody forget that? It seems so.

But it Really leads to the point of why we Desperately Need a change of the ENTIRE coaching staff. Because IT ALL FELL APART FAST! AND I DON’T MEAN IN SOME SMALL WAY!

I’ll tell you all EXACTLY WHEN it happened. And if you look back and ponder it for a minute, you’ll realize that, that’s Exactly WHEN the Implosion began….
It WAS DIRECTLY AFTER THE TRADE DEADLINE…. The defense WAS Balling Out just before the deadline and ABSOLUTELY CALAPSED afterwards. Tell me I’m wrong if your crazy enough to CONTINUE TO DENY THE TRUTH. That IS when it happened…
Don’t care if some short sited few don’t understand the relevancy of ‘”TEAM SPIRIT”. The fact that the GM DID NOT SUPPORT THE EFFORT NOR VERY OBVIOUSLY DID NOT BELIEVE IN “THIS YEARS TEAM” ENOUGH TO GIVE THEM “HOPE” when THEY (the players) “NEEDED IT” the Most!

It Must Have been DEVASTATING to the them. Look, they quit after that. It was ALL THE SUDDEN that they had no heart. They quit trying. If you demonstrate that you don’t believe in them, and “their cause” then they aren’t going to believe in “your cause”. And neither would you. When they realized that the management wasn’t going for a Super Bowl, they STOPPED PLAYING FOR ONE!

  14. Obvious One Says:

Also, this year Won’t Be like years past when Bowles was “bailed out” by the Offense..

I’m sorry to say, neither Bowles or us fans will taste Satisfaction this time. We will be playing scared as fans. We Already Knew the luck would eventually run out with the Defensive play NO BETTER and perhaps Worse than years prior.

The BIGGEST Reason is Starring us In The Face! Our luck has run out with this last shot in the dark OC! He’s (Grizzard) Not talented enough to save Bowles job for him. He’s NOT EVEN SORT OF QUALIFIED TO RUN OURS OR ANY PRO TEAMS OFFENSIVE GAME PLANNING! NO WAY THIS BAILS BOWLES OUT OR US THIS TIME as Bowles has so “Homer Simpson” like relied on for YEARS now. THAT LUCK has Run Out…… Gizzard has demonstrated that he never was qualified. But I suppose if someone got a little ahead of their ski’s in an Over Confident High on their finding talent abilities and past luck (Bowles), I’d of taken the job if I’m Grizzard For Sure! And SO WOULD YOU!

I’m Actually nervous and scared that going forward, if the Glazers don’t get this right… It’s BACK to another lost decade.

  15. Defense Rules Says:

Obvious One … ‘I’m Actually nervous and scared that going forward, if the Glazers don’t get this right… It’s BACK to another lost decade.’

Todd Bowles has now been here for 7 years, 4 as our HC and all 7 as our DC. We’re now stagnated, and maybe even sliding backwards. Even if we win out & finish 12-5 (rather unlikely I know), this team is missing something & NEEDS some new blood. And that’s not just on the roster; that’s also in the coaching ranks. Our OC, DC & S/T coordinators are all woefully lacking. And yes, our HC is circumspect also.

Yes BIG CHANGES like that can go either way, but the Glazers have much more to lose than any of us do IF they make bad decisions about HOW to move forward. We definitely need ‘rebuilding’, but the Bucs have a solid ‘core’ to work with, making this a desirable destination for quality coaches.

I remember the TV show ‘Kung Fu’ from years ago, and the wise old teacher’s words in about every episode ‘Patience Grasshopper’. Over the years I’ve decided that’s really good advice. If only I’d listened …

  16. Jerseybuc Says:

Cool. So Bucs will crawl in the playoffs get cooked. Bozo will save his job next year repeat

Cool. So Bucs will crawl in the playoffs get cooked. Bozo will save his job next year repeat

    ^^^^^^^^^

I’m not sure the Bucs beat the Cardinals, I seem to remember a Bowles defense making Brissett look good…Several backup QB’s have looked good vs. Bowles defenses. If the Bucs lose to the Cardinals at home, the wheels might completely come off the cart.

  18. Vinicius Says:

To be honest, I would rather we don’t even go to the playoffs. Maybe then, they will do something about the coaches. Like this, we will be crushed in the first game.

  19. TBBucFan Says:

What SF has that the Bucs lack is a willingness to play disciplined football for 60 minutes. I called it back in the spring when I said the 49ers would be good and responses on this site called me crazy. Proof is in the pudding. The good news is that the Bucs have the talent to scratch back in this long season. The bad news is that it didn’t have to be this way. It’s extremely difficult to turn character and effort on and off. That’s on the coaches for sure but far more on the players.

  20. Bucs33Saints14! Says:

And to think they fired Tony Dungee for not getting it done. At least we don’t have Raheem Morris 2.0.

  21. BucU Says:

I can see the Bucs losing at home to the woeful Cardinals easily. When a team has quit playing for a coach they can and will lose to much lesser opponents.
The bottom has fallen out at this point. This season has turned into a nightmare.
I blame Jason Licht and Todd Bowles DIRECTLY.

  22. Baking with Grizz Says:

What if the best is yet to come?
    Healthy players?
    Playoffs?
    Super Bowl?
    Super Bowl Win?
    Todd gets fired?

  23. Kenton Smith Says:

“If only I’d listened…” Hehehehe. DR, we were told we’ve got 2 ears and one mouth for a reason.

  24. Stpetematt Says:

Ok we’ll see how the Bucs do this weekend. I say they beat the Cardinals soundly.

  25. 813bucboi Says:

    thanks 9ers lol

    GO BUCS!!!!

  26. Henry Says:

Including the score in your article would have been appreciated.

  27. Beeej Says:

We need a couple guys like Myles Garrett, and you don’t GET guys like that at #19, gotta trade up. I know JL hates wasting picks, but Braswell, Hall and JTS represent 2 two’s and a first, none of whom will be with us next year

  28. Smarter than Joe Says:

I hate losing but wouldn’t mind losing out if it means Todd Blows is gone

  29. Outrigger Says:

The absolute best possible record I see the Panthers finishing with is 10-7 and that’s assuming they sweep the Bucs and beat either the Rams or the Seahawks at home. More likely record is 9-8 or even 8-9 so 10-7 should win the division for the Bucs. That means we will have to beat the Cardinals, Saints and Dolphins and win one of the games against Falcons and Panthers (2 games). Vet doable but if we lose this Sunday look out.

  30. Conte Piscatelli Says:

Is it really a favor? I guess if your only goal is to win a crappy nfc south. This team will be destroyed in the playoffs. I’d rather pick top ten than be a first round exit again.

  31. Obvious One Says:

    @DR

I guess I appreciate you echoing what I’ve already said but what was the point in acting as if I didn’t already state that?

Yeah, I grew up on Kung Fu as well. Including the TV show. Grass hopper ended up as mellow as Bowles. He wasn’t much for action “until it was a bit late” with massive damage “Pre Determined” and Far too many bad deeds were done before Grass hopper seemed to have a clue…. So in a very real sense, I disagree. ACTIONS were Required Long Ago! And “Now” it’s to the point of absurdity

Please don’t pretend you’re championing a new movement. The TRUTH IS you finally opened your eyes to what I’ve been standing up for, for years now.

I’ve noticed that you’ve finally decided to be Done with “being patient” and making up Excuse after Excuse for Bowles with your disdain for anyone who Told The Truth concerning Todd Bowles. You were a Bowles acolyte just like the rest. What I Will give you is that you had more class than the others BLINDLY making excuses for the Disturbingly Bad product that Bowles was putting on that field, for a Very Long Time.

You have Very Recently opened your eyes and You have Now acknowledged the TRUTH…. What? For the last few months? Well, welcome to the club….

And WHY did I champion for the truth tellers? First off because it WAS ALL TRUE. We were Heading In This Direction Fast! As you finally surmised, THIS TEAM WAS HEADING DIRECTLY AT THIS WALL WE JUST HIT! And it certainly isn’t ANYTHING new.. THIS WAS PREDICTED BASED ON FACTS IN THE FIRST PLACE that You DR, threw to the side as a joke..

The time for patience is becoming Very Stale sir. PATIENCE IS OVER! And You should have seen THIS COMING SOONER (not a soothsayer) Instead of the Cheap Shots YOU Leveled Out!

Why did it take you so long for YOU to figure it out DR? And PLEASE… DON’T BOTHER WITH SOME STATS. That’s NOT going to get it! You’re a Johnny come lately in this fight for the teams soul on the “enlighten side” that is.

If you’re going to speak to me, You should Start With an APOLOGY for your nasty little two cents FOR FAR TOO LONG! You are no more than a Johnny come lately to this truth that has the ENTIRETY of Buc Nation flipped upside down, it’s true. And You KNOW IT!

If you’re “man enough” then apologize. And if you find you’re not strong enough to do just that, then…… your a hypocrite.

And if you’re NOT MAN ENOUGH to apologize then I suggest that YOU BETTER NOT TREAD ON ME AGAIN! If you surprise me then I’ll be taken a back and I’ll be more than happy to continue Without disdain to acknowledge Your two cents.

  32. Mike Johnson Says:

Somebody here says we need a Miles Garrett. Well, we had our chances to get him or another great Pass Rusher. But what did everybody say? Its too costly. You gotta wanna be great guys. An NFL Championship is never too Costly! Never!!
How many of you cringe like me everytime an opposing QB goes back to pass on us? You cringe because you know he has had time to pinpoint his reeiver with accuracy because nobody defensively is near him. YOU GOTT WANNA BE GREAT FELLOW BUC FANS. And the Glazers are content with just a divison championship and their profits.

  33. Woodman Says:

Obvious One you need to start your own site if you are going to write short stories that are longer than Joe’s articles.

  34. Kenton Smith Says:

Obvious One. Let’s wait and see where we are in 6 weeks. This is Bowles 4th year as head coach and he’s had 3 divisional titles and is still in first place through 12 games his 4th season. He’s had three home playoff games amid pretty much a total rebuild. The Glazers wouldn’t dream of firing him before season end. So try to be patient fella. Just because you think our team is finished this year doesn’t make it so.

  35. LakelandSteve Says:

I want to see the Bucs make the playoffs as much as anyone but we all know that defense is even more important in the playoffs. So if they do make the playoffs the Bucs are probably one and done again. They definitely won’t make it to the Super Bowl with the way the defense is playing.

  36. bud liked tht bucs Says:

on any given sunday the bucs might well not a very good team or defence hard to even watch
