“Great Wednesday”

November 6th, 2025

Bucs players had a true bye week. That’s rare.

What does that mean? Well, NFL rules say players must get four consecutive days off on a “bye week” to include Saturday and Sunday. So after the Bucs beat the slimy Saints two Sundays ago, Todd Bowles could have had his players come to work the following day to review film. He also could have given them their usual Tuesday off and brought them back Wednesday for meetings, for example, and then released them for a four-day weekend.

Instead, Bowles gave his team seven consecutive days off. Lavonte David said that was a bye-week first in his NFL career.

Players were back Monday of this week, got Tuesday off and had a practice yesterday. Pads will come on today for another practice.

Yesterday, center Graham Barton said he felt the a revived group on the field.

“I thought we came out and had a great Wednesday. A lot of energy, guys were flying around and practicing hard,” Barton said. “I think that is the benefit of having a bye week, a refresher mentally to go attack this playoff push.”

Todd Bowles has been magical with just the right touch to have his team ready to start a season. The Bucs have had a 2-0 record every year since Bowles took over in 2022. That’s not a coincidence.

Was a full week off the right move to have the Bucs ready to come out with their hair on fire Sunday against the Patriots (7-2)? That answer is three days away.

Bowles has this team ready to go!!!!

as barton stated:“I think that is the benefit of having a bye week, a refresher mentally to go attack this playoff push.”

bowles already has this team focused on the goal!!!!!

    LETS GO!!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!

I know this isn’t a must-win game, but it sure feels like one. We’ve got two tough games after this one, and a 0-3 start to the second half of the season would be demoralizing. I’m glad the offense is feeling mentally fresh, but it’s the physical side of the equation that’s more likely to influence the outcome of this game. Boys, you’ve got to bring it all on Sunday! GO BUCS!!!

This isn’t the start of the season. This is after the bye. Last year was only Bowles second win after a bye, the other coming in 2015. As the Bucs double coach he’s 1-2 after the bye, after going 1-3 with the Jets.

He has demonstrated the ability to send out a pancake flat team at home before, many times.

Make it different this time Todd.

I will take an opposite view. I think this is a must win game. The Patriots are on a roll and they definitely will come out swinging. The Bucs need to think this is a must win game or they could get embarrassed. The team needs to trend up with this game not down
This is the first of a tough 3 way stretch. Winning all three is unlikely, while losing all three could make things difficult. Winning this will propel the team on a big note forward that will help with the following 2 games. I don’t think you can rest on Car. At this point they are coming on . With that said, I think the Bucs as banged up as they were absolutely needed the rest. I think Todd called it right. I think anything else would have been counter productive.

We need to win this game most of all because it is a HOME game.

A full week off in the middle of the season has to be an amazing feeling for the team. They should come out of this break a lot healthier and ready to perform on the field.

I love giving the boys a full week off ,, I would have given every player and every coach , except grizzz, the week off to refresh ,,,
Grizz needs to be in the office 16 hours a week to work on his craft,,, let’s see how he comes out of the Bye

  9. D-Mac Says:

He may have them ready at the start of each season, but just as importantly, he needs to have them ready at the start of each game.

  10. Lightningvinny1 Says:

Ha Vinny(me) 16 hours a day was what was meant ,,, poor grizzzzz

Whatever it takes for you to not get put on your ssa Graham, we go forward moving forward.

I think this was a great move by Bowles.

Guys may not heal their bodies in a week but the mental refresh is so important.

The Bucs understand they can’t come out flat and this is a 7-2 opponent with Bills and Rams behind. Bucs are at home, they want it. This isn’t 0-3 Denver start of the year. Pats have 9 games on em, are about to face a physical team that just had a good rest.

We are set up to win this one. Missed opportunity if we don’t and won’t look good for Todd but I do agree with how he handled this bye.

  13. Aqualung Says:

We will see. Perform on all three phases with hair on fire.

    Do it.

  14. Freddy PA Moxie Says:

“Graham Barton said he felt the a revived group on the field.”

…What did he feel? Woof lol.

Regardless of what he felt, errors or no errors, let’s hope they’re locked in this Sunday.

  15. BucU Says:

I concur giving this team the entire week off during the bye week. They needed it mentally and physically. However they MUST MUST MUST start faster defensively and offensively on Sunday.

  16. MikeInRoc Says:

Useless factoid: New England is 4-0 on the road so far this season. Tampa Bay is 2-1 at home.

  17. Hodad Says:

This team really needed a bye month!

  18. mj Says:

win this game and buffalo will be happy! lol… we won’t feel as much pressure in buffalo, go bucs! defensive battle coming!!

  19. infomeplease Says:

This team needs a FAST START Sunday!! On both the O and the D. Get an early lead and drive it home!!!
