The Confident Bucs Front Office
November 4th, 2025No trades for the Bucs today as the annual 2025 NFL trade deadline slammed its door shut at 4 p.m.
Joe needed to take a moment to lament the Bucs giving a high-five to the status quo.
The Bucs are 6-2 with several key injuries, an emerging defense and an MVP-caliber quarterback. They have a shot to reach the Super Bowl but will have to do it with their own players, barring a unique situation. The trade option is now off the table.
Buccaneers Ring of Honor general manager Jason Licht either was outbid for a player he wanted, didn’t like the ransom or refused to part with a draft pick because he’s proven his draft picks are so damn valuable. Or, and Joe hopes this is the reason no trade was made, Licht and the Bucs’ power brokers believe their injured stars will not only return to the field, they’ll come back at or close to their peak performance.
The injured list includes starting receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, beastly right tackle Luke Goedeke and running back Bucky Irving, among others.
Before the Bucs-Saints game two Sunday’s ago, Licht said key injured players will begin to trickle back to the playing field after the bye week. He gave no details, and Joe thinks that last could include right guard Luke Haggard and, eventually, defensive tackle Calijah Kancey.
Joe polled fans today to see how they are feeling about the Bucs passing on a trade. Most are not pleased, but the fan base is divided.
It’s fair to say a win Sunday at home against the red hot Patriots will have a lot of fans forgetting about what didn’t happen today.

Jason has nailed the last few drafts.
Tykee, Bucky, J-Mac, Parrish, Morrison, Roberts, EE, Tez etc
Who were we going to trade for that would add as much the guys above? And at what cost?
And with draft picks you get a few years of cheaper salaries…. So you can pay the players coming due – like Baker
Jason knows what he’s doing
November 4th, 2025 at 9:04 pm
Licht and staff are watching film for a 7th round pick in 2026 all season he while pissing this season away. Licht=Overrated. Who cares he hit on Tez. He could have fortified this team with additional proven weapons for 2025 and beyond.
November 4th, 2025 at 9:12 pm
As disappointed as most of us are, the truth is we only have 7 picks in the upcoming draft and have been one of the most injured teams the last 2 years. For longevity purposes keeping the picks make sense, team will need to be “retooled” again after the seasons end.
November 4th, 2025 at 9:13 pm
Licht also believed that Chris Braswell was gonna “shock the world.” Consider me not shocked in the slightest that Licht blew another pick on what amounts to a JTS clone while spewing the “future”s so bright ya gotta wear shades” about his upside, instead of trading a pick or picks on players that are proven.
November 4th, 2025 at 9:16 pm
Bunch of fuggin know it all dorks commenting here. Go back to your Arena League GM jobs perhaps?
November 4th, 2025 at 9:17 pm
I salute Licht for sticking to his guns. Yes, there’s some risk that injury projections could be wrong. But using a draft pick to trade for a player who’ll be a free agent in 3 months isn’t the way to keep your organization humming.
November 4th, 2025 at 9:20 pm
Bowles is no good, there are no wins

Okay smart guy, what trade would you have made? Demonstrate how he was wrong specifically, not through whining.
November 4th, 2025 at 9:22 pm
Licht clearly doesn’t think this is a superbowl team. This kind of inaction from the front office will reverberate for the rest of the season in how this team competes. What a waste of an opportunity to make a serious run. It’s like waiting for the perfect pitch.
Licht is definitely overrated around here.
November 4th, 2025 at 9:24 pm
NFL trade deadline had never been what the trade deadline is to sports like the mlb or nba. Very easy to plug in a player in those leagues. Much harder to do in the NFL where scheme and familiarity with coaches matter for success, some might argue more than raw skill.
To me, when I see teams scrambling at the trade deadline to add depth, it’s because they aren’t confident in their current team. Bucs Mgmt know this is a great team, and I think our competition do as well. based off of all the nfc moves.
November 4th, 2025 at 9:26 pm
Licht loves his picks to pad his job security, let the coaches take the blame for not getting it done with scraps, we’ve got another punter to whiff on in the 4th.
November 4th, 2025 at 9:28 pm
We CAN win it. We will be needing A Whole Lotta Luck and guys with their heads screwed on Tight!
Seems there is little to worry about concerning the defense. I “was” Red Hot on Todd’s backside but I’ve gotta say, He’s REALLY got his act together with his defense.
Are they perfect? No. And can I find flaws? Sure. Am I concerned about the defense? Not at all. It’s Really done a 180 and not only am I Impressed with such a Drastic turn around, I’m Proud of the guy for the first time Ever. He’s still got a good ways to go but at least he’s walking, talking, and DOING like a Pro Head Coach.
And finally the Real Question. It ALL now lies at the feet of Grizzard. I don’t think anybody really knows Except, himself.
Has he had enough of the futile and foolish “Leftwhich style” or Crazy? Is there more to him than what we ALL witnessed 7 or 8 times up the middle or was he proving some obscure point a d now will coach like a Real OC? Or was that a glimpse of our future? Can he come up with an impressively creative game plan??? Lord, I SURE “HOPE” SO..
Jason Licht’s “non action” today “may… May” reflect what he thinks about it. LET’S PRAY THAT ISN’T the reason for little confidence from Licht to ad a desperately needed, offensive weapon!
No matter because it’s all just conjecture at this point now.
And of course the O line performing like a solid unit again, and just as importantly, Mayfield gets his Groove Back On.
We CAN WIN THIS ONE COMING! The patriots ARE NOT a mountain we can’t climb!
November 4th, 2025 at 9:30 pm
Will be interesting to see tomorrow’s DNP, LTD, and FULL.
November 4th, 2025 at 9:35 pm
So Godwin is going to play? Mike for the playoffs?
Baker didn’t get any help when he should have.
Bucs traditionally dot do much in the trade period, but this way the year to break the mold.
The is the best team that needs help since Brady and not like any other.
A bad missed opportunity for a team that could benefit from a num 2 or 3 WR on most teams since our #1 and #2 are injured.
Name a Superbowl team without a real #1 War healthy. They better be the number one defence if that’s the case…..
November 4th, 2025 at 9:39 pm
Could be the last year of David and Evan’s and probably the best chance to go to the Super Bowl since you won it last time and nothing happens. Godwin won’t be 100%, Jalen won’t be back, Evans might be ready for playoffs, O line is hurt and pressure in QBs against good teams hasn’t happened. Dont make sense, but I don’t have the info they do so you can just hope it works.
November 4th, 2025 at 9:42 pm
D@mn… I see the fire still burns.
Get it out of your systems. All points of view ARE VALID. I have already moved on but it wasn’t that I wasn’t reading the room. There Wasn’t a room to read when I started writing.
Good luck to all of you trying to read the tea leaves. Only Kreskin knows the future and he passed away last year. So….. It was FUN AND WORTH IT to Stir it all up today.
It’s you guys turn to fight though the battle of for or against. Like I said, good luck but get it out of your system. It’s Important…
November 4th, 2025 at 9:42 pm
The players worth getting were overpriced in both salary and draft compensation. Jason has proven he will make a trade for he right price (JPP ended up being a STEAL), but there wasn’t anything enticing enough out there. Licht has earned our trust. LET’S BAKE
November 4th, 2025 at 9:43 pm
Wr depth was a must for any kind of playoff push. Evans is done, mcmillan is done and Godwin was never going to be a playmaker this year. Ebuka goes down and look at whats left. Not scaring any defense with that. Probably saving picks knowing that injuries have derailed a deep playoff push.
November 4th, 2025 at 9:48 pm
Frankly, the fanbase is in the dark about the status of the injured players. We know little to nothing. Where there’s a vacuum, it will be filled perhaps with bad information. Regardless, if the Bucs field an Oline with whoever at RG AND Heck at RT, they will lose the next 3 games…without question. But, we can always rely upon hope to come off the bench. My prediction 9-8, miss playoffs.
November 4th, 2025 at 9:50 pm
The Dumbest Trades Today
Indy = 2x1st = CB
Dallas = 1st + 2nd + Player = DT
The Bucs know how to build and maintain a winner. These other teams are desperate.
We’re build an NFCS Dynasty. Play the long game.
November 4th, 2025 at 9:51 pm
I’ve been hearing Baker MVP talk all season, and it was clear early on that he was putting the team on his shoulders.
Impressive, but I’m just not seeing the numbers aside from W’s.
Our offense is injured and not that good. It looks disjointed and sloppy. Even prior to his injury. Some bright spots for sure but not MVP level.
We don’t have the horses.
Sorry.
November 4th, 2025 at 9:53 pm
Garrett Greene is like a poor man’s Mike Evans. We need to activate him immediately.
November 4th, 2025 at 9:55 pm
Take a peak at what Philly did and dare say, “We’re good”
November 4th, 2025 at 9:55 pm
I think we’ll be able to to pull off a solid 12-5 season with our current injury-riddled roster. (If we get a few guys back asap, and if Baker can stay playing better again like he was in the 1st 6 games)
November 4th, 2025 at 10:05 pm
HOW many 14-year-olds are gonna make multiple posts under multiple names here to try and show the CLEAR rejection of Jasons’ policies?
November 4th, 2025 at 10:15 pm
Pathetic. Licht is so overrated.
November 4th, 2025 at 10:28 pm
Jason wasn’t aggressive in the offseason only signing Reddick on a one year prove it deal. Did you really think he was going to make some bold trade now? It is what it is, we are what we are. If it’s not good enough this year changes will have to wait till next year. Any trade we might’ve made wouldn’t be the difference between winning a SB, or not. Your kidding yourself thinking otherwise.
November 4th, 2025 at 10:38 pm
I agree with RagingBrisket that this is not a sign of confidence, it’s a sign that Licht & co don’t think this is an “all in” type season. I wholeheartedly disagree, and I’m sure he wouldn’t admit it, but that’s what this indicates. We saw what happened when Brady was here, that’s what all in looks like. Granted there were some misses, but Rudolph & Julio come to mind. Did we NEED them? No. But we got them because we were all in on trying everything to win the SB. We didn’t do anything to make the team better before the season and nothing now. All chips on drafted guys. How are Braswell & SVD working out?
November 4th, 2025 at 10:41 pm
I prefer building a dynasty with smart moves rather than sacrificing future capital for a temporary replacement to maybe make ourselves temporarily better. I guess it’s just matter of perspective.
November 4th, 2025 at 10:46 pm
It’s a risk reward play. No one player available, even for free, would solve the soft sieve of an offensive line. No one player available would suddenly make this roster’s fortunes any different. Start factoring in salary cap ramifications and draft capital losses, the choice is clear.
What the Bucs need to get to where we hope they can go, is a step change in coaching. We seem to have seen it on special teams, and on defense. (I hate saying that because I said it after 3 quarters of the Jets game and then Tyrod Taylor suddenly looked like Lamar Jackson.)
Can Todd pull the trifecta and help his rookie OC work with the talent he has considering injuries, and game plan realistically but at least creatively?
C’mon Todd. Do it .
November 4th, 2025 at 10:58 pm
I Remember 21…too many injuries to be “all in”.
November 4th, 2025 at 11:09 pm
The 7th round pick for CIN LB made by Dallas should’ve been a move we made. Can’t begin to understand how that couldn’t have manifested for us. Don’t get cocky that Tez is doing well. The only reason he fell is his size. Silly to think that will be replicated with any kind of consistency.
November 4th, 2025 at 11:19 pm
A 7th round pick for a LB who couldn’t even start on one of the worst defenses in the league, yeah, we totally should have made that move.
November 4th, 2025 at 11:21 pm
Joe is ignoring capeffects. 10 million for a slight upgrade may not be best long term choice
November 4th, 2025 at 11:25 pm
DailyRich
It’s well documented that the Bengals wanted to give their mid round draft picks a trial by fire approach, hence why he wasn’t played. He was their leading tackler last year and is a Captain. You don’t think it would’ve provided more depth to our LB room, which is already limited? Please tell me how that’s not worth a 7th round pick, LOL.
November 4th, 2025 at 11:48 pm
JTS was even involved in a trade today…
don’t get too caught up in the trade deadline for the nfl…
years ago, like 3 players were moved around the entire league…
now the nfl is trying to be cooler, and hype up the deadline, and have players ping pong around like in the other leagues…
no big deal…we’re still pretty good…if we can get some of our guys back
November 5th, 2025 at 12:00 am
Quit wishing we traded for defensive players. Our defense is fine, our IR is loaded with offensive players.
There was no deal made this past week that I envy or think would help the Bucs much. Too steep a cost.
We’ll either get players back or we have to win with who we have. We’ll see what happens Sunday.
November 5th, 2025 at 12:00 am
The Jags STILL have 11-PICKS in the next draft, after trading away their 1st last off-season to the Browns, and then 2-more today for Meyers. The Eagles STILL have at least one-pick in every round for the next draft, even after all the ‘wheeling and dealing’ they’ve done. We do literally NOTHING. Honestly, I really don’t care. But, HOW the hell is the Philly FO ‘smart enough’ to make a deal for Phillips, that more than likely, will cost them nothing at all… And, WE AREN’T!? Our FO isn’t even capable of making a ‘no-brainer’ move that involves ZERO risk. Oh, well then… Is what it is.
November 5th, 2025 at 12:15 am
After reading these posts it’s clear We have a lot of fans that base their decisions on emotion and not logic. No GM is perfect but the Bucs have arguably the best GM in the NFL. I’m going to trust his judgment.
November 5th, 2025 at 12:37 am
I absolutely, LOVED what the Colts did today!!!! The absolute PERFECT move for them. Sauce has not given up ‘multiple’ passes to any WR that HE was covering, in a single game this season. That’s a pretty wild stat, but teams do try to avoid him at all cost tho! The Colts definitely improved and that was exactly what they needed… A true ELITE #1 Lockdown Corner. They have a helluva roster, a young modern-day stud ‘play-caller’ HC, who’s a damn good coach. They play the right way, and are fun to watch. THIS was the ‘main move’ that B.A. was referring to. JTS was moved in order to just improve Cleveland’s 7th to a 6th (so just a few spots down in the draft is all) LoL.
November 5th, 2025 at 12:47 am
Indy BELIEVES they have a real legit-shot at the Super Bowl, THIS Season, and I don’t blame them. It’s a HELUVA BOLD move that can get them over the TOP. They had to go for it! 2 late 1’s for an perineal ‘All-Pro’ ELITE shutdown CB just hitting his prime and still wrapped-up for several more years… Total. No. BRAINER. And, they got rid of a problem WR that they were about fed up with, and ready to kick to the curb anyway. Great Move.
November 5th, 2025 at 12:49 am
If they win the Super Bowl everyone will see this as a master stroke. If they don’t, everyone will claim they were one player away from winning the Super Bowl.
November 5th, 2025 at 1:16 am
There wasn’t a single move out there, that I wanted. Other than, the Parsons trade. Nothing was making a big enough difference, to be worth-it. No game-changer out there, for us. The only thing that ‘irked me’ though, was HOW the Philly FO was smart enough to pull-over SUCH a ‘fast-one’ over on Miami, but OUR FO was not!? There wasn’t a more perfect, less risky move out there. PERIOD. You get a young former 1st-round talent, “EDGE-Rusher,” on a rental trial-period, for just the remainder of this season. And, IF he doesn’t pan-out, then you just move-on after the season and you will more than likely, GET BACK the ‘3rd-Round Pick’ that you’d just given up for him in the first place… In the form of a 3rd-Round Comp Pick. BRILLIANT. But, if he does pan out and just absolutely, KILLS-IT… Then, you can friggin’ re-sign him. A Total Win/Win. Typical Philly-move. 💯
November 5th, 2025 at 1:30 am
“ THIS was the ‘main move’ that B.A. was referring to.”
– Well, this sentence makes absolutely no sense now, since my very first post about what B.A said today on McAfee’s show, STILL has not posted!?
November 5th, 2025 at 1:52 am
This team gets 2 or 3 offensive players healthy and we’re basically operating at pseudo full strength (at least able to run the offense). That being said, they either need an elite speedster (waddle, Shaheed) or a possession guy (Jakobi Myers) to fully unlock Baker. To not even SIGN a receiver is puzzling.
November 5th, 2025 at 1:54 am
Well, just be real, the returning injured players wont be the same as they were if they’re over 26 and thats if they’re lucky. All good, back to the drawing board…. but i will say, we’re one and done if we make the playoffs
November 5th, 2025 at 2:28 am
I have not rated Edge as the Bucs greatest need. But, …
Letting the Eagles, an NFC opponent the Bucs may face in the playoffs, pick up Jaelin Phillips for a third round pick looks like malpractice when the Bucs could certainly use him to at least improve the edge rotation behind Diaby, Reddick, and Nelson. And, that is if Reddick gets healthy. If he doesn’t, the value of Phillips is even greater.
As a Buc, Phillips would be in a tie for the most sacks on the team. And, as a first round draft pick playing on his fifth year option, there is no dead cap to worry about after this year. And, if the Bucs get outbid for his services next year, they should get a compensatory pick.
Complacency kills championship chances.
And, there was enough potential upside to give Wilson a shot at ILB for a seventh round pick if only as a depth piece. Again, no dead money after this season. Just going with a peek at AI (which is almost always a mistake), Wilson’s overall PFF grade this year is 74.5 vs 55.8 for David and 45.9 for Dennis. And, he has fewer snaps this year. Just as part of a rotation, he has 7th round value, and he could be an actual upgrade.
November 5th, 2025 at 3:08 am
Big trades make fans feel good, but just as a football player can be a great Fantasy player but not a great real football player, big trade didn’t make sense for the Bucs. We are getting healthier, we are getting key pieces back… and we are NOT done rebuilding this team. We need next years and the next years 1st and 2nd round picks if were going to build this into a consistent Super Bowl caliber team.
November 5th, 2025 at 3:39 am
I knew for sure we getting healthier. I’m done with my opinion. on the trade.
I just want to where’s all this news about our health. Luke’s been out 7 weeks.
So this 21 day brings him back for the Rams ?
