Baker Mayfield Kicks Off Slimy Saints Hate Week
October 22nd, 2025
No use for slimy Saints.
Alright, there’s no sense pretending there is anything good about New Orleans except for world-class, all-night drunken parties, tailgating on Bourbon Street and shoveling top-shelf grub down your gullet all day long.
It’s a dirty, filthy, stinking, corrupt, mule-dung-infested, sweaty, crime-ridden town. And its football team embodies it so well.
When is the last time you heard of an NFL team paying bounties to players and members of the football staff linked to missing prescription painkillers?
That’s the slimy Saints for you.
And while Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield has only played the slimy Saints four times in his 2+ years with the Bucs, he has learned the hard way what the slimy Saints are all about.
Earlier this summer when appearing on “Pardon My Take” co-hosted by Big Cat and PFT Commenter, Mayfield said he had no issue throwing on the slimy Saints late last year to get Mike Evans his receiving record because he has “hate” for the slimy Saints.
Today, Mayfield was asked about that specific quote and he interrupted the interrogator by saying, “Yup,” when Mayfield’s quote was read back to him.
Then, Mayfield added why he has no use for a team that dresses in black and gold and why he loathes them.
“It hasn’t exactly been clean play from their part,” Mayfield said. “When we play them, it’s a physical game.
“It is what you expect it [to be from] a division rival.”
Mayfield made it very clear he wasn’t joking.
“Not much I’ll say,” Mayfield said. “Besides the fact, I don’t like them.”
Two years ago in Mayfield’s first game as Bucs quarterback against the slimy Saints, defensive lineman Nathan Shepherd cheap-shot Mayfield. In the second meeting, a loss to the slimy Saints, “Honey Badger” Tyrann Mathieu gave Mayfield a cheap-shot late in the ribs.
The next week in a win-or-go-home game against the Stinking Panthers, Mayfield could barely throw the ball because of that hit. That game was way, way closer that it should have been because the Bucs literally became one-dimensional on offense because Mayfield’s ribs were so bad. But Mayfield sucked it up and gutted his way through the division-title-clinching win.
So Mayfield knows firsthand what the slimy Saints are all about.
And it’s why Mayfield has no problem running the score up on the slimy Saints last year in Lincoln’s Tomb and passing late in a win at home.
Eff those voodoo-loving freaks!
If you need a reminder why Baker Mayfield hates the New Orleans Saints, he was injured twice against this team in 2023, his first with Tampa Bay.
Both of the hits were late, cheap shots (and flagged accordingly). pic.twitter.com/ARicc21WmJ

This is a game we really need to win. After the bye we are against New England, Buffalo, and the Rams. Brutal three game stretch could go 0-3 during that stretch so this game against the Saints is a must win!
Thankfully after that 3 game stretch we should be favored in every game rest of the season.

I think Baker knows his offense got their butts kicked physically Monday and he’s gonna try to put a stop to that. After the bulletin board material he just gave the Saints they will come out fired up and we better be honery every snap of the ball. Way to go Baker. Good strategy. Now if you guys will just go out and hang 40 all will be well.

Dirty Saints….cheap shots……
We need to be more physical…..
Run Rachaad down their throats from start to finish……punish them.
October 22nd, 2025 at 5:21 pm
Heavy dose of tucker amd white mixed in with quick play action.
This game maybe closer then most expect. They hate us we hate them.
Gotta have this one. After the bye 3 really tough match ups.

The slimy Saints HC is long gone and all the players that made up the” Silmy” saints are either traded or retired.
Calling their Current HC and players Slimy is getting seriously Stale.

Still bounty gate at Peyton place.
October 22nd, 2025 at 5:42 pm
Sorry Joe, But your 1st 2 paragraphs of this article is why I luv partying in New Orleans.
October 22nd, 2025 at 5:46 pm
Yeah I say the same thing, run it down their throat till they bleed. And then pass over their downtrodden heads for 40 points. In “Nawleans”
October 22nd, 2025 at 5:47 pm
To be fair, Sean Payton left the Saints 4 years ago and coaches the Broncos. Plus the old players left and retired. So they are no longer the slimy Saints nor are they a dirty team.
October 22nd, 2025 at 5:55 pm
N.O. is a crime infested garbage dump. Joe said it best, it fits the slimy Saints.
October 22nd, 2025 at 5:59 pm
The saints is not our rival like that they don’t even look at us as their rival . They look at us the same way they look at the Panthers. The saints rival is the Falcons they would rather lose to us and the Panthers than the falcons. To me I hate every team we have to play on our schedule because I want to dominate every team we play.

We haven’t blown anyone out not even the Jets. This would be a good time to throttle someone.

That’s my quarterback!

Not even close. I’m sure Godwin would agree with Joe and Sean Sullivan. Love that guy when he starts in on the absolute Slimy Saints! Can’t pile on enough!

Their bounty pay of injuring opponents is despicable, plus coach Peyton only getting a one year suspension is criminal.
He should have been banned for life in the NFL This doesn’t speak well about the integrity of the leadership lead by Roger Godell.

Always remember, the Aints own this distinction:
“The Tampa Bay Buccaneers secured their first franchise win on December 11, 1977, defeating the New Orleans Saints 33-14 in the Louisiana Superdome. This victory ended the Buccaneers’ historic 26-game losing streak”
October 22nd, 2025 at 8:25 pm
No chance this game is a blowout. We will be lucky to win this. I fully expect a lackluster effort leading into the bye. If we lose this we will undoubtedly hit Bowles 4 or 5 game losing skid he gives us every season. Prove me wrong Tampa!
October 22nd, 2025 at 8:59 pm
Bucs win but it will be closer than some would think. The wise-guys bet the game down from -5.5 Bucs to -3.5 before it rose again to -4. The moneyline did not move much which indicates a wiseguy play might be to bet the Saints on the spread (especially when it was north of -4) and the Bucs on the moneyline where a 23-20 Bucs win would be a big winner for the educated better. Of course judging by all the trolls who have emerged after the Bucs loss on MNF, I guess a lot of the money on the Aints might be from them if they are putting their money where their mouth is though a few who post here probably realize they cannot make bets using their SNAP card.

Allen Lofton, in addition, Sean Payton was a scab during trhe ’87 strike.
October 22nd, 2025 at 9:20 pm
Saints have been the dirtiest team in the NFL for 15 years. Cheap late shots and shots out of bounds constantly.
I hope he whips their ass with back ups
October 22nd, 2025 at 9:23 pm
I’m glad Baker put this out there. Maybe it will be in the minds of the officials and they’ll keep a lid on the extracurricular hits by the Saints. That’s part of their MO to intimidate the opposition. Clean hard hitting football is the way the game is supposed to be played but the Saints have taken it too far for a long time now.
October 22nd, 2025 at 9:49 pm
It is hard to hate the city of New Orleans because my father was born there. (Yes, back in the Old Stone Age. 😀) I do think the Saints still have the reputation as guys who play dirty.
So, yes, Go Bucs! Stomp the Saints!
October 22nd, 2025 at 9:57 pm
Dude the only one I’m counting as a loss is the Rams. Pats have faced no one and have the softest schedule in the league and who the hell even knows who the Bills are. We will not go 0-3 when we come back from the BYE when we will likely have a lot of people back. I got us beating the Pats coming back from BYE.

Remember that like it was yesterday, was working in the garden shop of the K-Mart at Florida and Waters when it was announced on the PA

Talking about Philly, Detroit or New Orleans? Could be any of them.

Beeej – That’s a great story. I used to work a couple of red lights from that Kmart at a fast food place in the early-to-mid 90s, and the most iconic win I can remember from that time is… Well, none. But I do recall for some reason the Bucs playing a Sunday night game vs the Lions and losing.
Wow, I was right. Before posting that I decided to look it up, and sure enough, Nov 3, 1994, Sunday 8p, the 2-7 Bucs vs the 4-5 Lions – Bucs lost 9-14. Had it on the radio as I was leaving work. No idea why I recall that so clearly. Strange the dumb stuff your brain keeps in it. Anywho, TNN, who I think was doing Sunday Night Football at the time had to love having that exclusive.

My hubster (retired) did high-end live tech broadcast until he retired about 5 years ago. He worked for the City, and the Magic. He knew both audio and visual. He ran around with the engineers, and partied. He didn’t care for live sports, but man, he learned the tech end. He went to NOLA back when he was repping pro audio. He came back and told me Bourbon St. sucked. He said you would not believe the smell. The Bucs will win. One of the numbers factoring into the game is 9. It’s an actual team, and they know what went down Monday. GO BUCS!!

Hate the aints. Cheap shots. Low blows. Extra hitting. Taking out our players. Oh don’t forget helping the catholic church covering up inappropriate relationships (to put it not too graphically) between the clergy and minors.

Beej/Rod Munch, the Bucs winning 33-14 vs the Aints is also a vivid memory for me. I remember being in an Eckerd Drug on 56th Street with my Dad as a 12 year old kid where he was picking up a prescription and we saw a few people gathered around the front check-out counter where Eckerd had their limited inventory of AM/FM radios and 12 inch TVs. We stopped and listened to the final 5 minutes on the AM dial. Everyone was high-fiving. This happened with me and my Dad one other time, at the same Eckerd a few years later, “The Miracle on Ice” when Team USA upset the Soviets in the ’80 Olympics. The game was not on TV, it was a tape delay but it was on the radio so we heard the countdown as the US won and guaranteed themselves a medal which would be gold after they beat Finland a couple of days later.

Rod, I always remember working at Busch Gardens at USF during the Perkins years anbd we had the Bucs Packers on one Sunday. It was one of years the Bucs were 5-11 and actually finished 3rd in the NFC Central because Detroit and Green Bay were even worse, I think it was 1988. Bucs won in Milwaukee 13-10, always sticks out in my mind. As an in person memory I remember being in the Sombrero that year when the Bucs upset Buffalo 10-5 with the Bucs actually stuffing the Bills on a goal line stand; probably the high point of the Perkins era. Tickets were still under $20 back then and the beer was relatively cheap.

Oh, love partying there too. And the restaurants are the best.
But it still is a filthy, mule-dung-infested, corrupt, sweaty, crime-ridden city.

Loving Baker! He is the guy! I am right with him too. Never forget Bounty-Gate.
Sometimes it feels as though some players on other teams are still in that Bounty mode too… Haven’t gotten over Godwin’s injury. What about Mike’s injury? The guy was celebrating while Mike was laying on the ground. It’s not right.

Was there earlier in the year. We had a great time but went every other place but Bourbon Street.

My forever connection to the Bucs was the following week.
At 17yrs old, selling programs outside the stadium with the Tampa Jaycees and getting in free, I got to watch Leroy and the boys dismantle Jim Hart’s St Louis Cardinals. The crowd, the goal posts coming down, history made with the first home win…
I had never been to a live NFL football game before…I was hooked.
Over the years I had an Uncle who use to always needle me about the Bucs lack of success. I suppose he could tell it bothered me LOL

I saw someone above saying it to run it down the saint’s throat.
That could work, but it’s not the best idea. As a saints fan, I can tell you thlat the entire secondary is practice squad players and people I have never heard of. Let the tight end block, keep the rb in to give baker time (our pass rush isn’t terrible). Baker is accurate enough to destroy that secondary. Everybody will get separation. You don’t need a mike evans quality receiver.
Another person pointed out that the falcons are actually our rival, not the bucs. This is true. This is just another game for us, that we will almost certainly lose. But during a season like this, playing the falcons is our super bowl.
