So on the series, you had the Lions literally drag to the ground two DE’s on a play and the refs called defensive holding, then you had St Brown with a blatant push off causing Parrish to fall, which also isn’t called.
Wonderful.
Just remember that St Brown push-off, because I 1000% guarantee the refs will call Evans for an OPI today.

Has nothing to do with Baker, you’re way to early in the game to whine about him based on his history this year. You do however need a more coherent gameplan. They’re getting away from what Coen was doing – the quick passing game was what the Bucs went to last year when the offense finally took off, that and not being predictable in the run game. Tonight they’re just going out and throwing deep over and over again, and seemingly abandoned the run before the game even started. Baker has been mostly great this year, but he’s best at that short passing game, and why they’re not using it, makes no sense.
With that said, some weeks you’re just not that good, just make sure it’s a one week thing is all.

So the Lions get their first TD on an OPI when St Brown pushes Parrish to the ground.
The Lions then later are stopped on third down, but the refs throw a bogus flag on Dean, unrelated to the play, where the Lions receiver literally puts his head down and knocks Dean over, and Dean is somehow flagged.
Then Evans gets hurt on a play where the Lions defender clearly is grabbing Evans before the ball gets there, and there’s no flag.
Then for the first time in my life, the refs decide that a tie doesn’t go the offense.

How do people not understand how math works.
If you’re down by 5… and you get 2… you’re now down by 3, which is a FG, which now means you just have to get to around the 45 yard line of the opponent.

The reason is to turn what’d be a 4 point hole, into a 3 point hole. 4 points ya gotta score the TD, you make the 2pt’er you can tie with 3 or take a 4 point lead with 7.
You go for the one that gives you more outcomes, with failure just leaving you to deal with the same scenario you start with: score a TD next to go up. All this presuming your D can make a stop, obviously.

well, it all caught up with us. Outside of a few plays, defense played well, Gibbs was just a beast. This is where we miss McMillan but Bake also really off tonight. Now we can go back to being the underdog

Bucky needs to get healthy, we could use a DE that gets consistent pressure. Oline got whipped tonight, Grizz called a weird game, Baker missed a lot. Def eas inconsistent and gave up a horrible long run TD.
Refs sucked as bad as I have ever seen.

I need more than 2 hands to count the number of open receivers Baker overthrew tonight. Just downright awful. The Lions and the refs threw everything at us and we still had a shot at getting this game (score a TD on that drive and get the ball back with a chance to tie). The cookies got burnt to a crisp in the baking oven tonight.

Bucs D played pretty good once they got settled in.
The issue is they get gashed early every game til they figure their stuff out….
Wish Bowles could make adjustments quicker….
This was one of the worst games I’ve seen Baker play in at least a year. He was missing wide-open guys tonight.

We lost some key players tonight. They will undoubtedly play flat as all get put next week like we always do with the saints and they will give us everything. I’m not expecting a win next week at all. This likely begins Bowles standard 4 or 5 game losing skid like we have every season. 10-7 is where we will be if even at seasons end. Detroit whooped our rear ends tonight. Baker looked scared all night long. Disappointed to say the least.

Take it easy on Baker. He was off in this game, but he’s also down to receivers 5, 6, and 7. And Heck was not good in pass protection causing the Bucs to have to chip with White or Otton. Offensive injuries caught up to them tonight.
Also give credit to Detroit D. They were embarrassed last week and played like they had something to prove. And prove it they did.

Baker was off point all night his throws were constantly high or short.
What concern me even more was how little separation our receivers had especially when you compare it to the Lions will always seem to have a man wide open for an easy completion. It seemed like we had to fight for every yard we got tonight. I think Grizzard has to do a little bit of work on his scheme because it was really pathetic tonight. There were no wide receiver screens to speak of I did not see much of anything to be honest with you.
Also everybody raved about Devin Culp thinking he was going to be this great receiving tight end why are we not using him. I saw multiple plays that Kate Otten made and he just had no speed for separation to get any real significant yards after the catch.

Baker couldn’t step into any throws, that’s why he over threw. The Bucs did not play well. The coaches stunned up the game. The offensive line was offensive. A loss is ok but being overwhelmed is disappointing.

Its like the Eagles game; the Bucs can’t play a complete game against playoff teams. One game, its the offense playing well & the defense doesn’t show up…let me take that back…it’s more like one half, half of the team shows up & other half sh*ts the bed….
