Extra Motivation For Mike Evans

October 19th, 2025

Joe was glad to watch this unfold this morning, even if it was part of the rival Rams clobbering Liam “El Serpiente” Coen’s punchless Jaguars.

While the Rams pounded the Jagss 35-7, Los Angeles receiver Davante Adams scored the 107th, 108th and 109th receiving touchdowns of his storied career. Before Sunday, Adams was tied with Bucs receiver Mike Evans with 106.

Each was drafted in 2014 and both are destined for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Adams’ big day now placed him alone in ninth on the career receiving touchdowns list. Evans got kicked by to 10th all-time.

Evans said publicly this year that watching Adams thrive motivates him. Evans entered this season leading Adams in TD catches 105 to 103.

Joe does not discount Evans’ desire to be the unquestioned best of his draft class. Adams also leads Evans in total catches. Evans has never been named first team All-Pro; Adams got the honor in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

While Joe is just happy Evans is on track to play tomorrow night against Detroit, returning after missing three games with a bad hamstring,  the big picture is also on Joe’s mind.

Motivating Evans to want to keep grinding on his NFL career with the Bucs is a good thing. He can help the team immensly next season even if he’s past his prime.

More importantly is that 1,000 season. He needs to ball out.

  2. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Evans will have more than Adams when all is said and done…assuming Evans doesn’t retire first.

    Absolute disgrace.

At least 2 were less than 5 yards. Stafford padding his td’s.

I am thinking Evans might have a huge game tomorrow since their db are out.

Can’t do much if you are not on the field. Hope he stays healthy the rest of year

Mike will be motivated for sure to get 1k and the TDs.

I’m not happy about a Rams win with the Bucs competing for home field advantage.

    Carolina moves up..

  14. MadMax Says:

Theres a pic of all three, Doug, Vjax, and Williams celebrating on the field….man, life is too short when you see this kind of stuff.

  15. MadMax Says:

    whoops wrong thread, sorry.

  16. garro Says:

Adams? He is not half the player Mike is. Stats are just stats. Watch the games. Way more to the game than TD stats. I will take Mike on my team all day over all but a very few WRs in the league.

    Go Bucs!

  17. Hodad Says:

We know Coen’s offense works. It ain’t the Xs, and Os, it’s the Jimmys, and Joes. We have Baker, they have Lawerence. They have Hainsey, we have Barton. Talent matters. They gave up draft picks to move up for a tweener DB, WR. We drafted Egbuka. See the difference? Coen should’ve stayed here, and waited out Bowles retiring. He’ll be done in two years in J Ville. Grizzard, you listening?

Cannot wait to see what Mike does! Go Bucs!

I was at a public event in eastern Pennsylvania over the weekend and saw a guy wearing a Mike Evans sweatshirt. The crowd was too much to overcome to talk to him, but it just felt great that I wasn’t the only Buc fan in Fleagles’ territory.
    GO BUCS
