“Low grade”…sounds like best case scenario?

Also…I’m gonna give Sterling Shepherd his flowers. Always steps up when needed.

  2. Stpetematt Says:

Is it the type that goes away before next week? Lol

  3. jason honeycutt Says:

See you in 3/4 weeks big mike. That hamstring is garbage.

  4. SB~LV Says:

On the play he tweaked his hammy he had a slight trip and the explosive move to catch his balance is what did it.
No explosive moves on Sunday, run and catch while making the defense respect his being on the field.

  5. Buc2Blame Says:

    SB~LV you smart

  6. Mark Says:

Saw it live at the stadium, and wondered if the no call face mask caused him to turn funny and injure it.

  7. SlyPirate Says:

Google says 2 weeks to recover. He’ll need to get 72 yards per game in order to hit 1000 yards. Definitely doable.

  8. Adam's Angry Says:

    Squats – 4 sets
    Leg Extensions – 4 sets
Lying Leg Curls – 4 sets
    DB deadlifts – 4 sets

*Keep the weight light, reps high. Like 15 reps per set.

Evans and his rubber band hammies, madon…. every flippin’ season.

  9. Aqualung Says:

Go Bucs Medical and Training! LOL.

  10. Adam's Angry Says:

    Squats.
    Leg Extensions.
    Lying Leg Curls.
    DB Dead Lifts.

4 sets each. Keep the weight light and the reps high.

Evans and his flippin’ rubber band hammies. Good Lord… who is the Bucs’ strength and conditioning coach? Fire him and the Special Teams coach. Put them both in a box on the corner of Himes & Hillsborough.

  11. D-Rok Says:

Let’s hope his low-graded injury will be upgraded to full health soon.

  12. heyjude Says:

Sounds positive! Can’t wait for the MRI update.

Thank you for the research info, SlyPirate. Definitely doable.

  13. Brandon Says:

Low grade means one to three weeks recovery meaning he is probably questionable against the Eagles.

  14. Jeff Says:

Take the time to fully heal. 4 weeks and F! the stupid 1000 yard record. Only SuperBowls matter. Need a healthy Mike to have a chance.

  15. MelvinJunior Says:

Wow. With how he acted and carried on, you would’ve thought that it was going to be something major. Damn. Well, that’s some great news! Could’ve been and ‘looked’ a lot worse.

  16. Will I am Says:

@Mark it crazy no one notice that

  17. David Says:

People on here giving recommendations on what Evans can do for a workout? LOL That’s hysterical.
You seriously think the Bucs trainers and Evans’s trainers in Texas and doctors that they employ don’t know as much as you people?
    Get a grip.
He has hamstring problems, it’s been there since Texas A&M. And the extreme heat doesn’t help.

It’s very mild and they’ll be getting him and Godwin back a couple weeks

  18. mj Says:

he got off of it real quick so hopefully that helps start the healing

  19. Pewter Power Says:

The eagles have average corners at best but Mr Evans I’m gonna need you to pick up the pace because so far that 1000 streak isn’t looking so hot

  20. JA Says:

    David——

Agree. Cracked up myself. One must have a high opinion of themself to think a coach or GM in the entirety of the NFL gives the slightest care in the world about what we think.

  21. Two thumbs up Says:

No call face mask appeared to be somewhat to blame for his awkward twist.

  22. Jeffrey Becker Says:

yoga would have prevented a few of his pulls i bet

  23. Addb Says:

As someone 1 inch taller and 30 lbs heavier than Mike, yes Hammys have been an issue my whole life. Quads all day but weak hammys. Just comes with the territory

  24. Hodad Says:

I learned not to believe a word Todd says about injured players. Wirfs knee was nothing to be concerned either.

Wow, I didn’t even notice that until now.

Seriously? Do you think any of we bloggers have ANY advice to give ME on his hammies.

He’s a PROFESSIONAL athlete earning millions. Do we think he’s lying when he talks about how much he’s done to work to keep his hammies active. He does all the standard stuff as well as the “new” stuff like cold plunges and using advice from a dietician to make sure he gets absolutely the BEST nutrition.

4 sets of 4 different exercises are not going to mean “squat” pun intended.

I’m a 77 year old amateur with a more sophisticated workout than just those 4 exercises. Stretching is also as important, perhaps more so than the strength training.

I have no advice to give to ME despite years of “amateur” experience and study, the operative word here being AMATEUR!

  27. Tony Says:

    @MelvinJunior

He was probably upset because he realized he did it again.

  28. Pickgrin Says:

Guessing that the heat and resulting dehydration contributed heavily to Evans tweaking his hammy….

I would rather that #13 not play vs the Eagles as its probably going to be another hot day – and especially remembering last year when he tried to play vs the Ravens following a mild hammy tweak – and wound up really tearing that hamstring to the point he was out for 3 weeks and not himself for a total of 6-7 weeks….

  29. PNW Buc Says:

    Rest up ME13
Godwin, Egbuka and Sterling will do work against the eagles…

  30. Stu Says:

Death, Taxes, and Chronic ME hamstring problems…

  31. David Says:

    MUNCH

I noticed that too. On an earlier play, when he caught the ball and carried a defender out of bounds, he came back to the filed looking ever-so-slightly iffy. It seemed like nothing until the play later that he left on.

  32. geno711 Says:

    My under educated understanding:

    The Anatomy of Reinjury
A history of recurrent hamstring tears, as is the case with Mike Evans, leads to a fundamental physiological reality that athletes must confront.

Each time a muscle fiber tears, the body’s natural healing process involves laying down fibrous scar tissue. While this tissue provides structural repair, it is inherently different from the original muscle. Native muscle tissue is elastic and pliable, designed for dynamic stretching and explosive contraction. Scar tissue, however, is significantly less flexible and more rigid.

This cumulative buildup of scar tissue creates a weak link in the kinetic chain.

The hamstring loses its natural elasticity, making it increasingly susceptible to strain and reinjury, especially when an athlete pushes to the absolute limits required for high-level performance.

This isn’t a matter of poor conditioning or coaching; it’s a well-documented biomechanical consequence of repeated trauma.

  33. stpetebucsfan Says:

    @Geno

“This isn’t a matter of poor conditioning or coaching; it’s a well-documented biomechanical consequence of repeated trauma.”

How dare you bring FACTS to an opinion blog. You do this all the time Geno.

Which is one reason I read all of your posts.

A question for you not just about ME but the overall effects of the short week.
Wonder if that hard fought game down in Houston and then coming back on a short work week may have effected the team and may ME’s hammy?

Sounds like the scar tissue is the real culprit.

  34. orlbucfan Says:

stpete, ain’t NO WAY you’re older than me! I doubt very severely Big Mike reads idiot fan blogs.😂 He needs to just chill, let his bud CG14 take the field when he’s healed, and enjoy watching Ungodly Godwin and EE2 strike fear into a lot of defensive secondaries while he’s healing. I sure am looking forward to it. Plus, Wirfs gets his buns back, and finally the RBs and TEs can start catching balls again. Cripes, this walking wounded and new OC act is getting stale. Looking forward to Sunday, win or lose.

  35. BradyGronkFan Says:

i’m on the ME 1000 yard watch and HOF march before even a Bucs fan. This is not the 80s or 90s. His stats to get in HOF is just not that impressive for 2025. His ticket to HOF is 2 or more 1000 yard season. That will give him the longevity (most wr HOF played 12 to 15 year) and the story for NFL (tieing Jerry Rice 14 1000 yards).
