Todd Bowles Sings Haason Reddick’s Praises

August 1st, 2025

Happy with free agent.

If being a good teammate equals Pro Bowl play, then the Bucs hit a home run this spring.

A lot of Bucs fans were uneasy about signing edge rusher Haason Reddick in free agency back in March. Reddick had a bad experience in New Jersey with the Jets last season for all sorts of reasons.

This may have unfairly tainted his street cred with fans. So when the Bucs signed him — while Joe was in ecstasy — there were many who were equally dismayed. More than a couple of fans thought the Bucs were bringing in a homewrecker.

That image should have been shattered the way Anthony Nelson explained to Joe how good of a teammate Reddick is. Today, Bucs coach Todd Bowles echoed what Nelson told Joe.

“He fit right in,” Bowles said of Reddick. “The first day he came, he just fit right in.

“He picked up the scheme very well coming into minicamp. He picked it up very well.”

Like Nelson, Bowles said Reddick has been a sounding board for young players. And he is always willing to help teammates.

“He talks to the guys, he communicates with them well, he has a great relationship with all of the guys up front,” Bowles said. “It’s like he’s been here the whole time.”

So, now that the Bucs have established that Reddick is a great teammate and a valuable addition to the locker room, it’s time to get down to business.

Let’s see if Bowles can unleash Reddick to do what he’s paid to do: bury quarterbacks.

Joe says: “Let’s see if Bowles can unleash Reddick to do what he’s paid to do: Bury opposing quarterbacks.

That would make my day, week, month, and probably year!!! Bring it HR!! Bring it!!!

  3. Robert Azrak Says:

Glad to hear this – Coach B does not give out a lot of compliments. HR5 must have bought in to the program. He can be a leader like VV, LD, & Winfield.

  4. LakelandBuc Says:

Hassan Reddick will be a one man wrecking crew

I only hope his production will rub off on the other guys

  5. Hawk Says:

I noticed that Bowles didn’t say a word about Reddick’s skills at dropping back in coverage.

  6. Bucsfan951 Says:

I will absolutely lose my ish if I see Reddick drop into pass coverage.

  7. Aqualung Says:

Any unleashing will need to come from Reddick himself.

  8. Bucswin Says:

Let’s get down let’s get down to business. Go Bowles Go Bowles!

  9. OR Buc Says:

The problem with one man wrecking crews is the other team knows who to consistently Double cover. Cmon Yaya 🤞

  10. LakelandBuc Says:

Warren Peeples might move up on the OLB depth chart

He’s still a long shot to make the final 53
But he can get on the Practice squad

  11. CleanHouse Says:

    Trade for Micha Parsons!

  12. Ufc Says:

This is where you trade for Parsons. Thats how we win the superbowl and Jason has to see this. You want everyone to remember you as the greatest gm in bucs history. You swing for the fence and grab the most dominant defensive player in the league. If you dont. Youre nothing more than a chance. You did it with Brady. You offer two firsts and braswell call it a day.

  13. Aqualung Says:

Someone has been eating way too many magic mushrooms before getting booze hammered.

  14. Beeej Says:

If Reddick kills it this year, I hope the Bucs sign him for life (WHICH, is probably about 2-3 years)

  15. Jmarkbuc Says:

Dean, Palmer and a #1, an whatever else is reasonable.

    Micah is generational.

  16. VOT Says:

I think it’s no coincidence the home opener is the J-E-T-S

    Trade for Micha Parsons!

  18. Hodad Says:

Trade for Parsons that’s how you win superbowls? Remind me how many rings has Parsons brought to Dallas in the four years he’s been there? You win superbowls by not bringing in money first players. To make Parsons happy you’d have to pay him more than Wirfs, and Baker. You won’t be able to pay Goedeke, Zyon, and many others. Remember that little thing called the salary cap. Making Parsons your highest paid player wouldn’t sit well in the locker room now would it?

  19. Hodad Says:

Forgot the fact you’d have to give up at least two first rounders, and more. Stick to fantasy football, NFL GMs you’re not.

  20. MadMax Says:

Lol, we aint doing that! (trading for Parsons) LOL

  21. MadMax Says:

Besides, if Reddick balls out, we gotta keep him on and have room to pay him.

  22. David Says:

Only a HR if he gets double digits sacks and helps Yaya and Kancey get to 10 as well. The pass rush needs to be consistent without the blitz

  23. Aqualung Says:

Maroon is as maroon types. Micah Parsons.

    ROTFLMAO.

  24. Jmarkbuc Says:

    From the shield site…

The Bucs appear to have the salary cap flexibility to take on a massive contract, and they might be closer to title contention than some realize. The last time they were this close, the Bucs swung a trade for Rob Gronkowski to help his buddy Tom Brady. As long as the odds would be to land Parsons, the seismic effect might be even greater

  25. View from 132 Says:

Go get Micah Parsons! He asked to be traded. That would change this and future seasons. Get it done Licht!

  26. cmurda Says:

It’s always a crapshoot no matter how good the move looks but my goodness I think Jason just swooped in and found a bar of gold just sitting there for the taking. Welcome aboard Reddick. Super pumped that we got him. Who woulda thunk it but a player went to melt away with the Jets. You can’t judge anyone while tenured with gang green. Rodgers will have a comeback year, Bowles just got a big extension as a Head Coach, and I’m confident Haason returns to form just to name a few.

  27. 1sparkybuc Says:

If the Cowboys trade Parsons, it won’t be to an NFC team.

  28. cmurda Says:

No way we get Parsons. Relax dreamers. Let’s just be thankful for my dude Reddick.

  29. Daryl Green Says:

Here’s What I would like to say. When got S.Rice are team chang, when got JPP, our team changed, when Git Shac, our team changed, welcome HR do yo business, it will be a change 🤙🏾❤️👊🏾

  30. matthew a veal Says:

im glad hes not a bad guy and never worried about that.

at age 30, barrett was headed to 6 sacks before his achilles gave out.

jpp maybe was a taf better by 33 he was effectively done.

wally chambers was done at 28, we bet big on him at 27 and only got a year

    lee roy finished at 30.

im hoping for one good year and not totally sold we will get one due to the toughest blocker an edge rusher will ever face – age

  31. Brian H Says:

So glad that steaming pile of dung not trying Shoystinka is gone!

  32. BigBucsFan Says:

Following more and more in love with HR signing, especially for the effect he should have on the D squad. it’s a cheap one year rental with the option to buy. Getting in full training camp and preseason and know what the bucs defensive philosophy is and what they want from him versus jumping in essentially mid-season as he did with the Jets. Then you factor in having a healthy Vita V, C.K., Yaya, D Serovicia, Lavonte David, Chris Braseell’s supposed to be sprying up,, plus a revamped defensive back field this defense can wait to see who the offense is worried about and attack with another level and just keep the offense chasing them. It will bemake a mistake if they double up one of our two nose tackles then our edges are going to get through and they want to double up Hassan then they got Yaya to deal with or from the sounds we have a full rotational cornererback squad with two great safeties this year versus very spottiness in the backfield from last year. Parsons would be a fun ad but who here thinks Jerry Jones is just going to let some team trade peanuts for him, dallas is going to want a treasure chest inreturn. After the accomplishments of the offense these past two seasons suggest that should be just as good again this year adding anywhere near a top 10 defense should make this team a very serious contender without having to give up draft picks and players just for the fun of a beast on the team. If this was fantasy football maybe but don’t mess up my real team

  33. Famu_Rattler Says:

I like the thought of Micah Parsons coming to the Bucs. But lets request permission to speak w/him and see if he is willing to come cheaper with better hopes of winning multiple Championships. If he will be open to cheaper, so that we can maintain our winning roster, then package Braswell, Palmer and 2026 or 2027 1st round pick. If he wants winning Championships more than highest pay check, go for it. And the Bucs fan will go for it also. Go Bucs…. Go Bucs
