Beleaguered head coach Todd Bowles.
Joe hates typing it, but the Bucs are a bad football team — with Tom Brady at quarterback and a bunch of big-name, big-resumé players.
Tampa Bay dropped a deuce on the field of The Licht House tonight after scoring 10 first-quarter points and coming out hot on defense.
No surprise, they couldn’t sustain it. Tampa Bay has now lost five of their last six games, and they haven’t played a complete game of quality all season.
The coaching is bad, the team’s passion is terribly inconsistent, the run defense is dreadful, and Brady is out of sync with receivers. Our beloved Bucs are 3-5.
In fact, the Panthers can seize the NFC South lead (via tiebreakers) with a win against the Falcons on Sunday!
Something is dreadfully wrong with the team. They are far too lifeless, far too often.
The Ravens ran for a whopping 233 yards on 31 carries. Disgusting!
The only upside tonight was the return of Julio Jones, and he actually made it through the entire game and scored a touchdown.
Joe is ill.
The Bucs entered this season on a 22-5 run. Now they have five losses before Halloween, a Lost Decade tradition.

I’m so glad we punted from the 50 on 4th and 2, when it was a 10-10 game, and the defense was clearly spent. What a great move by Bowles.
Only better move was not onside kicking with 5 mins left, because you know Bowles had so much faith in his defense to make the stop.

That was a complete team loss. Brady missing throws, receivers out of sync and dropping passes. Penalties from the lineman over and over at critical times. Failure after failure on 3rd down. And of course, Leftwich going Leftwich.
MeanWhile the defense just folded and gave up after half time.
This team stinks.
They’re now about 15-20 plays a game away from winning. That’s bad.

Don’t know where you’ve been Joe but welcome to reality. Most on here have been saying they’re bad for 3 weeks if not more. Aside from a handful of players (a very small handful) the rest of this team could be stuffed into a cannon a shot into space. Brady should walk away now. Brady proved his arm is fine tonight, so that helps get more value for him, although, again, to me it’s a 1 team race on the trade as the Dolphins will clearly give up, by far, the most for him.
Two 1sts, and I guess we’ll take Tua as well, although I don’t really want him, but him and Trask and compete for the job I supposed, that job, being to get the #1 overall pick in the draft next year.

Rod, I don’t know what game you were watching but White was repeatedly, constantly getting blocked away from the play. Even the broadcasters were showing it on replays. Just freaking pathetic. BUT, you are right. He wasn’t the only one. The entire D needs to take a good hard look at itself. I am so sick of the secondary hitting instead of tackling. And that was when they were near the other player…most of the time that wasn’t the case and they were tackling from behind.

Lol. I actually enjoyed the game tonight. I went in knowing we would lose. The team looked better and looks like it’s getting better. With that LG out, the offense looked promising. It’s a simple fix now. They need to fix the LT position and we will take off. Maybe if Hicks comes back and stay healthy or go get Suh… I can see a 11-6 or 10-7 finish. If they put the LG back in… all bets are off.

I wonder if Brady and Leftwich are red-penning any of the game plans now. So many idiots bought that Arians wasn’t the secret sauce for that offense when he did it before Brady got there and also in Arizona with a much worse roster, and Leftwich sucked in Arizona on his own. Also, the defense was number one against the run the last three years, and now everyone runs on them. They don’t just give up over a hundred yards, they give up 200 every week now. It’s only going to get worse because the Rams own them, and Seattle is a good team. Kenneth Walker is going to run for a mile.

We have a mini bye now is the perfect time to fire BL and get someone anyone else to call the plays. We lost this game because the offense can’t sustain drives and let the defense catch their breath. I’m not sure exactly how many 3 and outs we had but I know there were many consecutive ones.
Defensively Devin White has got worse each year since the Superbowl. Seem him get blocked for 15yds and then trip over his team mate on the opening drive of the 3rd qrt. He looks like he’s put on weight and is slower. Shaq actually was balling before he got hurt.
Ravens have an OC that made adjustments at halftime we as Bucs fans don’t know what that’s like this year. But I’ll admit Brady didn’t look great out there either. No matter what anyone says his personal life is taking a toll on him.

Horrible coaching. They get up by one touchdown, and take their foot off the gas. Get the ball first after halftime, back to back runs to the back up running back and an incompletion. Three and out. Punt. Advantage erased. No energy. No passion. Uninspired. A soft spoken coach can’t motivate players. It’s broken.

Why do we always wait until 6 minutes left in the game when losing before we go to no huddle offense. Poor coaching. Our defense really sucks! Devin White is garbage he just blows off hot air. He continues to over run plays n get blown off the line. I’d rather have Don Gardner in at corner than keeping this piece of garbage Dee Delaney. JTS is a bust, he’s a one trick pony. Our rookie kicker is a waste of a pick, cant consistently get the ball in end zone for touch back n where did he learn how to onside kick? Godwin is not the same post injury. Evans is missing passes. Brady is approaching that time, the game has caught up with him. Leftwich needs to go n Bowles should be on the hot seat.

Brady has a shoulder injury since whenever that hit was. Doesn’t have the zip and he’s under throwing everything. Also, shaq tore his Achilles. Clean house!

It’s hard to pinpoint the weakness of the team as it isn’t just one problem. First off the game plan was insane. The offense stalled out once the Bucs go the lead, as the playcalls got very conservative. It wasn’t like they had a 3 TD lead, it was just Leftwich and Bowles acting scared. That led to the defense being on the field too long as the Bucs badly lost the time of possession.
But that’s not all. The Bucs lack credible red zone talent. Other than Evans, there isn’t a quality red zone WR or TE on this team. That problem arose when AB went crazy and Gronk retired, and yet the front office signed players who do no produce in the red zone (Gage, Julio) or can no longer function in the red zone (Randolph).
The O Line still stinks, Licht has had months to replace Jensen, Marpet, and Cappa, and yet only now do they dredge up a deep reserve to replace the badly over-matched Goedeke. But the interior wasn’t the only problem, penalties and coverage sacks also destroyed drives. There are really only two quality receivers on this team. One of them has had a strange series of drops this season (Evans) and the other is simply a year away after tearing his ACL (Godwin).
The defense looked good the first half, but then the Ravens had a weird game plan. The first half they relied on passing, which isn’t their strength. The second half they overpowered the Bucs with their quality running game, something the Buc defense is no longer proficient at stopping.

Oh and for Devin White, it’s not his fault. You guys are barking up the wrong tree. He is a run and chase LB. He is not a down hill thumper. He needs big bodies in front of him to eat up blocks. He was Def player of the month when Hicks was in. There is a reason for that. If a lineman gets to him, it’s over. Ray Lewis had that problem for a couple of years.

Will Ghostbuster and Roaches are not Suh. They would not. I repeat, would not play as much on and other football team. Neither would Nassib or Nelson. ASJ would because of potential.

Looks like some ignorant people did not understand the gist of my comment and it went over their heads. I have no problem with black coaches…I have a problem when ANYONE is hired based on their race. BA stated he resigned so a black coach would have a chance to be a head coach. Well…that means Bowles got the job because he was black and it was thought to be his time. Well…I think we know how that has worked so far.

Brady needs ultimate protection and an offensive coordinator that can dial up plays to get receivers open.
Leftwich does not seem to be very creative with play calling, most are predictable. First down run up the gut is predictable.
A coordinator that can use a little misdirection, maybe a creative screen pass on first down, and not just once, keep the defense guessing. Mix things up.

Todd Bowles looks bored every time the camera pans to him! A stark contrast to BA who was always talking to or yelling at someone! I’m no fan of firing coaches quickly but Bowles does not seem like the passionate and inspirational head coach we need him to be. TB12 is obviously not himself and I’m sure his dumpsterfire at home isn’t helping.

Besides being terribly outcoached, our physical conditioning is very suspect.
We were fine in the first half, and were even beating them, but they killed us in the 2nd half because we are not in near as good physical shape.
