Disturbing Pregame Report

October 27th, 2022

Lavonte David

Joe was shaken just prior to kickoff tonight.

Amazon sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung said Lavonte David told her that the Bucs focused this week on “being on time,” among other things to get the team back on track.

Whaattt? Has lateness been a problem at One Buc Palace?

Keep in mind that the broadcast crew gets to meet with key players and coaches before a game, typically the day prior to kickoff.

It’s one thing for the team to be playing poorly, but it’s quite another thing for the Bucs, with a brand new head coach, to have so much tardiness that a team captain notes the club is working collectively to “being on time.”

Joe, like every other Bucs fan, is searching for reasons why this historic slide is happening to the Bucs and Tom Brady, who hadn’t lost three consecutive games in forever.

What will the Bucs work on next week? Paying attention in run defense meetings?

We better have a new OC next week or we need to all riot!!

  2. SteveK Says:

We need to get our heads out of our asses.

  3. Rob F Says:

Maybe this is part of why the Bucs haven’t forced a turnover since the Chiefs game in week four.

The offense is struggling, but they haven’t had a short field in a month.

  4. Caleb Says:

When is Devin White going to be benched? He is just plain awful. Bowles needs to start holding people accountable.

  5. CDubbs Says:

If this is true, the coaching staff has lost respect of the players and this team is done. Time to clean house.

  6. D-Rome Says:

    Being on time?

    SMH

  7. Greg Says:

That’s just a indication of what’s going on. When the guy who was setting the standard for professionalism has to take off and is more focused on personal life stuff (justifiably) and no one steps up? Well, here you go.

  8. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Surely he meant timing…in the game…..not being on time to meetings/practice…..
If that’s the case….that, among other things, is on Bowles

  9. BFFL Says:

Tell Brady to retire, trade everyone, tank then clean house

  10. Bosch Says:

Makes complete sense. Bowles < Ra(h)‘em.

  11. Shawnbuco Says:

    Bring back commander Schiano

  12. Frank Pillow Says:

Somewhere Josh Freeman is laughing maniacally.

  13. Mike Johnson Says:

just another excuse. We just are not that good this year. 3 new O linemen, A D line that is getting gashed repeatedly, A secondary missing 80% of its players, and a QB who looks and plays like Rip Van Wrinkle. We have our superbowl for the decade guys. Its gonna be a while before another rolls around. Let Brady ride off into the sunset. He deserves it. I would hate to see him carted off the field. he is starting to look old and disgruntled.

  14. Bucs Orlando Says:

    We had a good run.

    Thanks for the memories Tom.

  15. HawaiianBuc Says:

    #bowlesout

  16. Stormy Says:

This team has quit on Bowles. Fire him (and that mental midget Leftwich) now and make either Christensen or Garver the interim.
Joe allows the “mental midget” comment because it was what Raheem Morris used to describe fans/media years ago before he was fired for performance. Story linked here from 10-plus years ago. –Joehttps://www.joebucsfan.com/2012/01/thats-for-mental-midgets/

  17. Bucanero Says:

What? I want to know names or what exactly did LD meant?

  18. Greg Says:

Bowles lax style… 100% HIS fault

  19. Whoolio? Says:

Fuc* this I’m done. Where’s the crackhead ti cheer us all up? Funny he’s missing.

  20. Bosch Says:

I an just thankful that the Bucs lowered my expectations this early in the season. Going forward wins (if any)/ are a pleasant surprise. Losses mean better draft position.

  21. Jack Sparrow Says:

Belicheck releases a player if they are late. Even if they played great the day before.

  22. destinjohnny Says:

    Devin white sucks
    there I said it

  23. Bosch Says:

I will bet any one, even money, Bucs finish last in the division. Any takers?

  24. Jack Sparrow Says:

All I want for halloween is a headline that says Bowles and Legtwich FIRED !!!

  25. Curse of Gruden Says:

    What a clown show.

  26. Craig Says:

Two biggest problems with the defense:

    1) Hicks being out

    2)D. White being in.

Maybe it was about him being late on finding the ball. If so he missed the other way, he over-ran every single play tonight.

  27. Lamarcus Says:

They are just running towards Devin White all year long because he’s boo boo

  28. Tony1775 Says:

    @destinjohnny yes he does.

  29. DiehardBucfan Says:

This team is soft…Starts with the HC and trickles down from there

  30. Francisco Guzman Says:

Bowles sucks. BA wouldn’t take crap from these millionaire babies.

  31. LongSeason Says:

Players are late because Brady hasn’t taken this year seriously is what I get.
Nothing will work until Brady retires or makes every practice. He’s got one foot in and one foot out.
Defense is gassed as much by our offense as the opposing team’s offense. White looked like a confused rank amateur. He looked like a pee wee ball player against giants.
Likely this team will go 3-14. We won’t win another game. My only hope is Evans still get 1K receiving yards.

  32. Faspro Says:

    OC’s gotta go…

  33. HC Grover Says:

Bowles just said they have to make plays and be more consistent.

  34. Tony1775 Says:

Devin ride your horse up out of Tampa.

  35. Davenport Says:

    Get in on time?
Why should they? Its not like anything will happen to them, naybe a sarcastic but that’s about it.

    Bowles Bucs are irreparably broken.

  36. tampabuscsbro Says:

Hey guys. Did you notice how the coaches of the other team changed their play calls on both sides of the ball as the game went on.

It makes you think ours are either too lazy or stupid to do it.

  37. Vlad The Impaler Says:

    Hilarious

  38. Francisco Guzman Says:

Longseason Brady is far from the issue. This is coaching. Also the bucs offense has only two consistent players. Where’s that 3rd guy ?

  39. Tony1775 Says:

    Bowles lost the team.

  40. Ateonetree Says:

This team doesn’t respect Todd Bowles plain and simple!!!!!

  41. ClwJB Says:

Get ready to lose to the Rams in Our house again

We may not win another game before Xmas

  42. Elita Vita Says:

Well these last few games begs the question….who’s available in the 2023 draft?

  43. Vlad The Impaler Says:

Bowles combines the worst of Lovie and the worst of Raheem Morris into one horrible package

  44. Vlad The Impaler Says:

The Jets knew this day was coming

  45. Yucs2Bucs Says:

LVD is a leader ?? His days are behind him and Devin White sucks as well !!

  46. Yucs2Bucs Says:

I bet Todd Bowles is a good man, but he should not be coaching this team !! Brady Fd up along with the Glazers for looking at how much money they could make because how do you have two great years and run BA out the building ?! Please answer that and DEVIN WHITE SUCKS

  47. Vlad The Impaler Says:

Bucs are working hard to make meeting on time and not smoke weed during half time…but hey, it’s tough to do

  48. Redeemer Says:

Bowles getting into it with players on the sideline. Brady either slamming his helmet, or acting like Aaron Rodgers. Baltimore played with them tonight, without their best pass catcher for most of it. I’m going through all stages of grief at once. Dead ass team

  49. Melvin Junior Says:

JACK SPARROW: “ Belicheck releases a player if they are late. Even if they played great the day before.”

-YESSSSS…. An ex-Patriot disclosed during the off-season (can’t remember which one it was but it was a likable, kinda popular player), that he SERIOUSLY, once got into a ‘CAR ACCIDENT’ Intentionally, while running late to practice one day!!!! TRUE STORY. But, if this is ‘true’ about these Bucs… I’m Speechless. Mind-Blowing. Guess, that just says it ALL, right there… All Ya Need To Know.

  50. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Edwards had 11 tackles……White had 10……and even with that, White had a bad game.

  51. Rob Says:

This is a gutless, heartless team. They have quit on themselves, and are just going through the motions now. A damning indictment for Todd Bowels. He was given a turn- key playoff/ superbowl contender and turned it into probably the worst team in the league. LSU could beat these buccaneers.

  52. JimmyJack Says:

Somebody was late to practice? I guess Devin White because he has played like he dont care.

  53. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

    Kaylee is a real Honey!
Our team was outplayed and out coached, we just are not nearly as good as we thought we were.
Plus, we are physically badly out of shape!
The Ravens simply wore us down physically and mentally.
Stick a Fork in us, we are done this year.

  54. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Let’s go Byron…..

  55. Chris Stewart Says:

Owners think the fan base will revert to the old ways and accept mediocrity and a loosing culture. After all we are the loseingiest franchise in sports history. Party is over Bucs fan, welcome to real life.

  56. Your Mom Says:

    Next week, hygiene and grooming!

  57. PassingThru Says:

    Players not reporting on time?

Hardly surprising. More proof that they don’t respect this coaching staff.

  58. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

Bag coaching!! Same Bowels, same team! You can’t be a “players coach!” These players are young, rich, full of themselves, arrogant and will slack if allowed to! The only one not slacking, Dean, surprise surprise is in a contract year! … The others are old and can tell when a team is not going to make it anywhere and check out early and try to avoid getting hurt while they collect their check … Without a coach barking at them, punishing them for things like being friggin late, bench them when they suck and force them to play hard or find guys who will… Without that kind of coach this is the result you get!!

  59. bucs4life Says:

Well, well. So… it seems we have a coach that is not disciplined and do not demand discipline from his team. Who would have thought, right?

  60. Pewter Power Says:

This is a trend of disturbing takes by our linebackers. Even if Brady came back next year why would he want to play here. This team is weak minded and im exhausted

  61. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Does anyone on here actually believe that David was talking about players being late to work? He was obviously talking about them being on time for their defensive assignments. We suck right now but there is no need to misrepresent what David is saying for people who believe everything they read.

  62. chark Says:

we definitely need clarification on what that means.!! because if it means timing on the field that is one thing. If it means people being late to meetings and practices that is another thing, So please stop with the sensational journalism!! Be professional that comment has not been clarified as to what lavonte meant.

  63. Big Unit Says:

Is now the time the Buc’s start staying out late and getting arrested?

  64. LastDance Says:

Jack is right. The reason Brady has been able to be Brady is because he hasn’t had to literally carry a team and coach them and be the babysitter. That’s a coaches job. This is soft A stuff and I hope Brady gives us one more season with another team to show that dysfunction has nothing to do with him. If the coaches lose the room that’s on them not on him

  65. Bojim Says:

Next time we win a SB, I’ll be drooling down the front of my dirty tank tip and pee stained gym shorts.

  66. Anonymous Says:

It is alarmist and just plain wrong to inflame already desperate fans bordering on ignorance with a narrative that has not been thoroughly checked out and put in the proper context it was said. I am willing to bet Lavonte David was not referencing being on time to practice but rather speaking about the timing of defensive assignments. That in and of itself is bad enough in that it does indicate a lack of discipline and accountability if the same mistakes are repeated. But for people who have never played anything at a professional level to insult experienced coaches with things like moron and mental midget is way off base.
First, Lavonte David is an intelligent guy and a measured speaker and Joe is not going to ignore what the reporter told an audience of tens of millions. Joe did not claim she was accurate, but Joe also wouldn’t trust David would be candid if called upon to verify what she said, so Joe is putting it out there. As for the “mental midget” comment, Joe allows the “mental midget” comment because it was what Raheem Morris used to describe fans/media years ago before he was fired for performance. Story linked here from 10-plus years ago. –Joehttps://www.joebucsfan.com/2012/01/thats-for-mental-midgets Further to imply less experienced Coaches who have never proven it could replace them smacks of racist feelings of inherent superiority bereft of any evidence to support such feelings.

  67. Eli Says:

We look like an old team, we play like an old team, we are an old team. Bring in all of these old once big name players who can’t muster 2 games in a row without injury is on JL! They need to stop kidding themselves and start rebuilding. The only thing some of these clowns know is cash. Start taking some $$ away when they scrrw up, aren’t ontime etc, and this applies to coaches as well. Glazers wake up and make the necessary changes. OC is a joke and HC can’t focus on DC at the same time time trying to be HC. Nice guy style doesn’t worj wjth over grown, spoiled punks. Man up Bowles, do your job or go back to NY, oh that’s right, can’t do that, they fired you…

  68. Oneilbuc Says:

Pewter hell no Brady got to go you should be done with him this team is not hungry anymore.

  69. DungyDance Says:

You snooze, you lose. As I said before, you can’t have the undisputed team leader run out on the preseason and skip team meetings, but expect everyone else to play by the rules. And as bad as it is for players to behave this way, it’s even worse for the coaches to tolerate it.

Crisis of leadership. Sack Leftwich now.

  70. TOMMY MORDUE Says:

THIS IS A TEAM DECIMATED BY INJURIES..BUT,NONETHELESS, THEY ARE ALL PROFESSIONALS WITH A SINGLE JOB TO DO (THEIR OWN)..WE NEED TO GET KAREEM HUNT TO HELP SPARK THE OFFENSE ( ELIGA MOORE OR JULIAN EDELMAN ALSO MAKES SENSE )WHICHEVER ( PERSONALLY “KAREEM HUNT” ( I WAS PISSED WE DIDN’T GET HIM WHEN HE WAS KICKED OFF THE CHIEFS ! HE’S A DO IT ALL BACK LIKE LEONARD FORNETTE ( WHO NEEDS A BREAK WITHOUT A DROP IN TALENT ONCE IN AWHILE ( 2 BACK SETS WOULD MAKE SENSE AT TIMES WITH THOSE TWO..) WE CAN RUN THE TABLE IF WE DO THIS & RESTORE OUR OFFENSIVE SWAG…

  71. BucEmUp Says:

Season is over BA ran the team and held everyone accountable scrap it ….its over

  72. Ultra ClodHopper Says:

If this is true, it’s one person’s fault and is grounds for dismissal. This is the first thing you’re supposed to get right.

  73. Ontario Mike Says:

Have to wonder why their receivers can find massive holes in our D and our guys can’t get separation? Oh, and our guys can’t stop the run either. Could it be our DC is not up to stuff? A pocket passer with no reliable pocket is doomed ! Sad we had to rely on rookies to take the open spots on the OL. Our GM should have realized our last year with TB deserved a solid OL in addition to our great lineup of receivers (if they can stay healthy).

  74. Arnold Says:

I’m sure everyone would agree, they looked liked the Super Bowl team for the first quarter. Minus the obvious push from behind collision on the punt. Bowels is the same unfit head coach as before. Discipline is always the key to success.

  75. Daniel Robbins Says:

Being on time… you sure he didn’t mean on the field? On time to your gap, not blitzing late or early?

I am SURE I heard on time used that way before. Being in the right place at the right time.

  76. unbelievable Says:

    No accountability.

    Starts at the top.

  77. Lg55 Says:

Has Bucs ever run a trick play that worked?
Has Bucs ever did the hard count without making our offensive line jump early?
I can always tell when the ball is going to be hiked by Brady’s candence, always!
