Tom Brady Will Play Golf During Bucs’ Spring Practices

April 18th, 2022

The Match is back, and Joe might wager against Tom Brady because his golf partner in the charity event will be whiny choker Aaron Rodgers.

It was announced today that Brady will be back playing golf on TV — hopefully with Charles Barkley poking fun at him again — live on June 1 in Las Vegas. It’s the next installment of The Match, which will have Brady and Rodgers teaming up against young-gun quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen.

Perhaps the guy happiest about all this is Bucs third-string QB Kyle Trask?

The Bucs are scheduled to have their final four (of 10) spring practices at One Buc Palace May 31 through June 3, before mandatory minicamp runs June 7-9. It’s pretty clear to Joe that Brady will skip those final four sessions in favor of the golf festivities and travel. So that’s more opportunity for Trask to prove he’s better than Blaine Gabbert and/or Ryan Griffin.

Will Brady be at One Buc Palace at all this spring? Joe will guess Brady shows up for minicamp and one or two other sessions, maybe more if the Bucs draft an intriguing receiver or tight end.

Brady doesn’t need spring practices. He will be ready by the start of the season, there’s no doubt about it.

  2. kyle Says:

Brady needs a DT, and pass rusher….

  3. Casual Observer Says:

No question at all about drafting a TE. They will. The thinnest area of the O.

  4. Marine Buc Says:

Good. Let Kyle Trask take 80% of the snaps. We need to know if he is any good or not…

If KT isn’t the backup QB this year it won’t be a good sign.

  5. Upstate NY BUC Says:

Brady needs a Cornerback who can make a damn tackle!!!! when it matters….

  6. Dooley Says:

Trask looks like he slimmed down and toned up in the offseason photos on the team site. All he needs to worry about is beating out Gabbert to be back up. Think about that, regardless of your opinion of Trask, this is a team that’s afforded the opportunity with Brady at the helm to ACTUALLY develop a guy who’s already behind another guy who ISNT the starter. That’s the best case scenario for ANY draftee entering the NFL, to be steadily integrated into a role w/minimal repercussions. Hasn’t been the case for any QB drafted to Tampa Bay this century

  7. SB Says:

Trask waited his whole career as a back up ready to answer the call.
When he got his chance all he did was almost win the Heisman with Zero starting experience. It is in the kid’s genes. When he gets his chance he will make the most of it.

  8. ModHairKen Says:

Brady can do what he wants, when he wants, why he wants.

  9. GOB Says:

Only so many bullets left in Brady’s arm, why waste them. Don’t worry bucs fans, he’ll be ready when it counts. If Trask can’t beat out Blane Gabbert for the number two spot, it only proves the reach.

  10. Hodad Says:

Tom Brady will be on national T.V. with three great QBs, from storied frachises, representing your Tampa Bay Bucs. It doesn’t get any better than this Buc fans. Thanks for coming back Tommy boy. Oh.. and come in when you feel it’s time. No worries, they need to wear out Trask all spring, and summer anyway.

  11. SlyPirate Says:

I like the idea of Trask getting more opportunities to sling it with the starters.

It’s a win for Trask and a win for the team.

  12. Tbbucs3 Says:

Id assume that Brady stopped giving a crap about spring practices after his 5th Superbowl

  13. Iistnfrmafar Says:

I am big Brady fan but he is boring as hell off the football field. I’d rather see Joe Namoth & Ken Stabler, party time.

  14. Chris K Says:

He can do whatever he likes. See you in camp Goat.

  15. David Says:

    Listnfrm……

? I think the greatest quarterbacks of all time, guys like Brady and Manning and Montana are the exact opposite of what you are saying.
Stabler was great but never reached elite levels, probably because he was a party guy. Namath… Most overrated QB in the Hall of Fame. The guy had 2 good years.

  16. David Says:

I was so disappointed that he was teamed up with arrogant diva A-Arod.

  17. Oneilbuc Says:

All this Brady needs a corner back Brady needs a DT this is what I be talking about . Yall are Brady fans not bucs fans I’m so glad it’s his last year with the bucs so yall can leave . Yall care about more about Brady than the bucs winning a superbowl. I can’t wait to see Trask as the starter if not another young quarterback that the bucs draft . I’m a real bucs fan I hate you Patriots/ Brady fans yall ain’t real at all I’m not like the suckaneers fans who esept fake fans like Patriots/ Brady fans. I’m a true bucs fan !!

  18. BuucccNASTY Says:

O’Neil, real Bucs fan here. Been since late 90s when I was old enough to watch.. I still love Brady tho lol and I think your crazy to wish for task to start. I am excited now for this franchises future than ever before, but you gotta enjoy the now brother. Love Live Brady!!!

  19. GOB Says:

Oneilbuc, what’s good for Brady is good for the bucs, this year at least. How about a little appreciation. The man single handedly made your pathetic franchise relevant. If you’d like to return to the yucks, you’ll have your wish granted when Brady leaves. Instead of praying he’d stay, fans like you would’ve been happy with Kyle Trask, BA and a 6-11 season. Trask is a stiff. He’ll fit perfectly for fans like you.

  20. Oneilbuc Says:

Gob . Again you are only a Brady fan so fake fans like you will make me very happy once Brady leaves.

  21. Oneilbuc Says:

Bucnasty . I’m enjoying watching my bucs win however I will never make one man bigger than the whole team. Brady does not sack the quarterback, catch interceptions , cause fumbles or block for himself or catch passes . Brady needs all of that to go right most of the time just so he can play well and more importantly for the bucs to win !! Brady will never be bigger than the bucs to me .

  22. SB Says:

    Oniel…………..take a pill.

  23. Esteban85 Says:

Hate is a strong word. We welcome all fairweather fans and bandwagoneers! We will all talk trash about you whenever you jump ship or are forced to walk the plank.

  24. Rod Munch Says:

Brady does what Brady wants to do.

If you have a problem with that, you’re an idiot.

  25. Bucsfan13 Says:

I hope Brady doesn’t show up fat and out of shape. He really should’ve attended those voluntary workouts.

  26. Mikejp Says:

Why do people call bandwagoneers? I am living a place without any team, so I like some players and follow their teams. So I like the teams of Tom, Gronk, Godwin. Similarly, Ronaldo and Messi’ s fans do not care much about the old teams when the players move to a new team.

  27. Bucsfan951 Says:

“I will never make one man bigger than the whole team”

Yes, because every time the ball is snapped while the offense on the field, the play doesn’t run through the qb. Or the fact that the highest paid players on the teams are the qbs. Yes, the entire team is important but except for the center, the qb touches the ball the most so yes, it makes him pretty darn important.

    Defense, Defense, Defense ?
