“You Kind Of Lose Your Mind For A Little Bit”

Tom Brady speaks

It’s hard to believe Tom Brady can still find something unique and special for himself on the football field.

But that’s what happened yesterday as the Bucs offense enjoyed the rare walk-off home win against the Bills in dramatic fashion. That kind of stuff is usually reserved for an extra-innings baseball game or a three-pointer to end a college hoops game.

It doesn’t happen often in the NFL like it did for the Bucs against the Bills: Brady throwing underneath to Brashad Perriman who housed it 60-plus yards to end the game in overtime.

Speaking on his SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio show tonight, Brady likened the experienced to making a 50-foot putt or an eagle in golf.

Brady noted the Bucs called the Perriman play simply to get a first down. When Perriman had running room with a Bills linebacker, Brady said he started screaming to himself. “In my mind, I’m going, ‘Run B.P, run run run! …

“You kind of lose your mind for a little bit.”

Brady said the wild win made him reflect on his career and he remembered a game at Miami 18 years ago when he threw a TD to win in overtime. But this time it was in front of an amped home crowd.

What a moment!

What a game!

Almost as good as the Amish Rifle would have tossed it.
2 years and Brady hands the reins back over to Fitz for another half decade of Glory!
    Go Bucs!

Your “60 plus yards” play that went for 58? Cuz I’m pretty sure it was 58.

I kinda lost my mind for a bit in the last few seconds of the regular game. I was sure the Bills were gonna run a touchdown in for the win. I actually even closed my eyes. It was a horrifying moment for me.

Thank God we have Brady “The GOAT” as our QB. He has the nerve of steel. He is Compose and very focus. I hope we get to keep him for at least 2 more years. The feeling of winning is so good, you get addicted to it. 😀

No way they release AB. First of all someone else would sign him for playoffs. And Bucs fans would go nuts if we then didn’t make it to the SB.

Highs and lows. The first half I was jumping off my seat. The second half I wanted to throw up from disgust. Thought for sure Buffalo was gonna score a game winning touch down. Wanted to puke at how easily they moved the ball on us. Where was that staunch defense? Where were Brady’s perfectly placed throws? How could this be happening? Really good teams don’t collapse like that. Ah but luckily they have to settle for a field goal. Did our defense make a great stand or did they choke with a win right in front of them? Who cares, we are still alive! Then the shock of the night! A simple slant crossing to the right breaks wide open and a perfect pass leads him to the winning score. A desperate line backer gets oh so close! But Perriman kicks it into high gear and we win!!! What a beautiful sight as he high tails it down the right sideline for the score! From agony to ecstacy! Is it true the best teams win ugly? We sure did. A win is a win is a win I tell myself. But that whole second half was troubling. How can I feel joy and disgust at the same time? They say the best teams find a way. Even if it gets ugly.

Lenny broke another long scoring run. More and more he looks like a bell cow runner who also catches passes! Big pay check to keep him a buc. Rojo flashes but not enough to pay big dollars. Say bye to Rojo if another team is willing to spend. Not sure Brady comes back next year Super Bowl or not this year. This year looks like it is wearing on him.

    @Wild Bill
I love when people just make crap up out of whole cloth. What signs are there that this season is wearing on Tom Brady?

    Lenny is balling out.

Reminded me of a great Clint Eastwood movie “The Good The Bad and the Ugly. The first half was GOOD. Second half Bad. And TB left the Ugly hanging out to dry in OT. This game had it all but a Win is a Win. Go Bucs go Brady!!! And by all means bring AB back!!

Well sparky the signs I see are the grim expressions on his face too often. Last season he was an enthusiatic cheer leader. This year he looks very tense most of the time. Trying to repeat on a last years success may have an extra burden. I see less joy and more tension. But then maybe I’m just projecting my own feelings. Last year was sweet. This year seems much more of a struggle. With all the team injuries and being a huge target because of winning the Super Bowl I think the expectations and pressure are much harder this year. And stress takes more of a toll as we get older. And boy was I stressed in the second half of that game! So maybe I am projecting on Brady. He is the GOAT. But the pressure he is under could make him more like me ( an old goat) haha.
