Contract extension coming?
Yesterday on The Rich Eisen Show, Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht floated the possibility that park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, trophy-throwing Bucs Super Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady could get a contract extension.
Brady is currently signed through the 2021 season. The way he played this past year, he doesn’t look close to washed up. So not only would it add up that the Bucs keep Brady around to at least reach his stated goal of playing until he is 45 (he will be 44 this summer) but why would you want to turn a guy loose like Brady the way he played last year?
By extending Brady, the Bucs could find loose coins between the cushions and beneath the remotes, bottle caps and Doritos (also known as salary cap room) that may help keep Bucs sack king Shaq Barrett and receiver Chris Godwin.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported this afternoon that a Brady contract extension “should happen,” based on the folks Rapoport has spoken with.
Super Bowl-winning Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians and Licht are scheduled to have media sessions this afternoon to discuss the annual draft and more. The combine this year is kaput, and this normally would have been the week Arians and Licht would have held press conferences at the combine.
Maybe Licht and/or Arians will be able to shed light on a possible Brady contract extension. Meanwhile, you can watch Rapoport’s report in the NFL Network video below.

Do it!…and get him to talk Godwin into a long term deal thats cap friendly this year. Forget franchising anyone, costs too much.

Pretty soon they’ll have to offset his salary against his Social Security Checks.. that will help the cap.

I think signing Brady to an extension that has him under contract to the Bucs through his 45th birthday would be a great idea. Then, use that data to keep every Bucs player under contract for less money than Brady gets paid in every year he stays with us. I’d love to see Brady retire as a Buccaneer, and nobody in the NFL should ever make more money than Brady. That just wouldn’t be right.

We also should restructure a few other contracts like Brate, Evans, Gholston, Marpet, Jenson and Smith.

It’s a no brainer if TB wants to stay. Extend, create cap room and take another run in 2021. If Father Time tackles Brady and 2022 he’s horrible so what; I’d take 2 rings and then step back into the abyss.

And the other guys would fall in line with 2 more years of title run

Brady played in New England his whole career. No offense but not a place of good year round weather. After playing in blistery cold michigan. (I know he grew up in CA)
Now he wins a super bowl in beautiful Tampa bay. They have a aick boat parade on his new 2 mil boat. He gets to live on the water which can change your life. His old bones get the florida heat. Salt water healing in so many ways.
This is like a working vacation for him. He loves tampa which makes me feel good and a few brady haters so sad 😞
They win a championship and some dont want to give brady his due credit..compare him to brad johnson situation With a great defense really winning it 😂. .and its spun that it was the team. These are the same people who trashed the rest of the team and put the former qb on a pedestal…free from scrutiny. 😂
Let brady play until the wheels fall off. Trust me. He will not tarnish his legacy and play if he does not have “it” anymore

Absolutely. Can save a few million on the cap this year by extending him. Should also extend JPP and restructure Evans and Donovan Smith,

Spread the numbers through the next couple of years evans, jenson, and maybe marpet will reconstruct now Donovan is gonna be the tough one he’s 27 he’s comin up on his last year wit no cap hit so he knows he has 1 last chance for a big payday so doesn’t make sense for Smith to reconstruct because he’s gonna want a big payday next offseason but we can find other ways ie cam or oj
