A handful of Bucs got the full Mark Dominik rockstar treatment yesterday at Bevis Elementary School in Lithia, where the Buccaneers donated physical education equipment and dedicated a Buccaneers Fitness Zone.

A contingent that included Lavonte David, Kwon Alexander, Cameron Brate, Keith Tandy, Kevin Pamphile, Andrew DePaola, Josh Keyes and Darcie Glazer Kassewitz dropped by to honor students for winning the 2015-16 Buccaneers PLAY 60 Challenge.

Kids at the school logged a whopping 92,605 minutes of physical activity during four weeks in January to win the challenge, which included students at more than 20 area schools. In all, kids throughout the program combined for more than 6.8 million minutes of physical activity during the PLAY 60 Challenge.

That’s 10 times more sweat than Joe will produce in a lifetime!

Yesterday afternoon, the players interacted with the kids during an event that looked like a little tykes training camp, with drills from tackling to footwork and more.

Here’s how Brate described the experience:

“It’s so much fun,” Brate said. “Every single time I can come out here, I try to do it. The kids aren’t going to look up to me forever. I can only play football for so long. So I think I have just as much fun as these kids do out here. So it’s pretty cool.”

Bravo, Bucs!

Whew!!! I am so glad that Joe clarified this article!! When I heard that some players got the pop-star treatment, I thought that they received undeserved credit for something that they instantly did, that would later would become a unmitigated disaster!!!!

But it is great to hear Bucs players giving back!!!!!

    Go Bucs!!!!!!

It’s nice that players can interact with youngsters who will be bigger Bucs fans in the future.
