“NEVER AGAIN!”

March 11th, 2015

Mccoy2014

Literally minutes after ghostly and ghastly Michael Johnson was cut today by the Buccaneers, captain Gerald McCoy took to Twitter.

McCoy wasn’t there to express regret for losing a comrade. No, McCoy had a message.

The link is to McCoy’s Instagram page, where he had more words and a video from one of his private training sessions, apparently with strength and fitness guru Todd Durkin.

McCoy says he’s ready to go for 2015 — to fight to get to the top.

Joe loves the timing of McCoy’s message.

He’s also recruiting by tweeting @ both Derrick Morgan (who has reportedly left ATL and will land in Tampa at 6pm) and Greg Hardy.

    This guy is the best!!

That is a Captain! Only hope that attitude will rub off on the players remaining and the players coming in!!

  6. CreamsicleBananaHammock Says:

Can’t wait to see what this defense, with McCoy and LaVonte, can do when Jameis actually provides them with a lead.

I think this team is poised for a big time turnaround next year

Put a smile on your face my brothers

It is AWESOME to see a guy say it out loud. GMC you will not have that slug Johnson to hold the line back this year.

  11. Skyline Crew Says:

    _____________________________________________________________

But….Mike Glennon gave them 4th quarter leads in 80% of hi starts. And they choked them away….

  14. MadMax Says:

Morgan and Hardy……HUGE upgrades!!! Although Hardy may miss a few games from being suspended, He’ll be a great help at freeing the triple teams on McCoy.

  15. MadMax Says:

who else is out there buddhaboy? And compare his play to the other two DE’s we just sent packing…..whatever dude.

  16. CreamsicleBananaHammock Says:

I’m not talking about 4 point leads….I’m talking “force them to pass, pin your ears back” kind of leads

  17. The Buc Realist Says:

I think GMC is pumped that Licht is cutting all the weaklings!!! Collins, Johnson and Clayborn is a good start!!!

  18. mikeh Says:

    MR WILLIAMS WELCOME TO TAMPA!

  19. feelthepewterpower Says:

Yuck Yeah! Let’s get The Kraken in here! My slogan with Hardy’s baggage: there is not such thing as moral victories in football!

  20. Alstott up the gut Says:

Love GMC!! Hard to get a current players jersey, but I’m getting #93 this offseason!! Go Bucs!!

  21. buccin cane Says:

  22. buccin cane Says:

4 yr deal per @rapsheet via twitter

  23. bucs55 Says:

    Bruce carter just signed

  24. Tye Says:

To be able to back up that statement you’ll need a much better HC than Smith and a much better QB than any that is available this year…… But kudos on the positive attitude!

  25. MadMax Says:

Finally….a signing……welcome to Tampa Bruce Carter!

  26. mikeh Says:

I JUST HOPE GMC feels the same way in September. get them going #93.

  30. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    Yes! Bruce is a Buc!!!!

So much for players not wanting to play here.

  31. BigMacAttack Says:

    Onward and Upward!!!

  32. The original "Kevin" Says:

Warren Sapp and his teammates had enough at one point of hearing the succaneers. Sometimes it just takes flushing out a few a holes and a higher level of effort all around. I still firmly believe Lovie tanked the season which is why I believe we will not trade down. You dont tank to trade and he tanked….with better coaching no tanking no jimmy grahmn and a reset in atl 2015 is prime for the taking. The bucs need to make sure to get to the playoffs in 2015 no matter what with the south the way it is now. If they can make postseason that will be a huge morale boost for the rookie qb and the entire team going into 2016. Obviously they would probably get knocked out if they made it in 2015 but it would get the postseason stage fright out of theyre system. I want mariota but feel they will take Winston. I think he makes the guys around him play harder. Man im ramblin…..love this from gmc though…

  33. mikeh Says:

hell ya kevin! even 8 & 8 would be much better lol

  34. Ray Rice Says:

    Yawn!….. Stop talking Aunt Geraldine.

  35. The original "Kevin" Says:

    @Tye

Go shove your head up your own ass this is a positive…..brief but positive moment for us here real bucs fans.

    Good day sir….

  36. The original "Kevin" Says:

Ray Rice be a gentleman and go hold your womans ice pack on her eye…

  37. Jack Says:

I overheard someone say McCoy wants to play LT too.

SMH. I don’t care how many times he’s helping someone up, so long as it’s AFTER he knocks them down.

morgan. ha ha. like he is the answer.

so tell us, oh great one. who is?

  39. Barry Says:

I hope GMC will stop the practice of helping opposing players off the ground. #SignOfWeakness

  40. The original "Kevin" Says:

I never had a problem with McCoy helping they guy up. He knocked him on his ass and did his job. I can understand from a fans perspective with the team doing so bad its easy to get frustrated but no need to take it out on McCoy for that move. The mans got some class and game…

  41. mikeh Says:

I PERSONALLY don’t care if he helps a player up just not all the time. he is not weak barry I just wonder does anybody ever help him up?

  42. mikeh Says:

and also #93 if its WAR! leave them on the turf brother.

  43. Skyline Crew Says:

Because 11 pts isn’t good enough? Believe that is more than 4 last I checked. Of course I didn’t get my education in Florida so maybe things are different there.

  44. MTM Says:

    Snow cones all around!

  45. Greg Smithwick Says:

Sorry, MadMax, but our first Hall of Famer was FAMOUS for doing that.

  46. a-bomb Says:

Bring in The Cracken- he might get 20 sacks playing with GMC.

  47. Skyline Crew Says:

Yup, all the Kraken has to do is picture them as a woman and he’ll be our all time sack leader.

  48. StPeteBucsFan Says:

Andrew Luck has become famous for congratulating guys who sack him. He does this sincerely because he was brought up to be a sportsman first. He’s been like that since grade school. He’s always been the best athlete in every sport yet all of his teammates and competitors offer nothing but praise for Luck’s sportmanship and humility.

GMAC is that kind of guy. I LOVE this kind of play. I’m going to kick you arse all over the field and then I’m going to shake your hand when you get the best of me. I am sooo confident in my ability that I have no lack to make up for by running my mouth. More GMAC’s and LUCK please.

  49. MadMax Says:

@Greg, if its a friend of his, or just a guy he likes, its all good. But remember, that takes energy to be helping big men up throughout the game…..thats what Im referring to more than anything.

  50. Iknowmorethanlovie Says:

Solid money GMC misses 4-6 games next year. Wish he had this kind of fight on the field

  51. tortured orlando bucs fan Says:

The easiest bucs player to love since brooks, class act and will be one of the greats, go get it (best Dt in the nfl)!!
Lets treat the nfc south the way psg just treated chelsea!

  52. Zam Says:

wow did he not like Michael Johnson maybe? oh to be a fly on the wall these last seasons

  53. 87ForJameisNOMariota Says:

    StPeteBucsFan Says:

    “More GMAC’s and LUCK please”

No wonder why we never agree, we’re polar opposites.

More Sapp’s and Winston’s please. Bring back the swagger!

  54. bucs4lyfe Says:

It took having a 2-14 season to finally talk like an actual leader. All the sacks sapp was getting it didn’t really matter until rice got here so defensive ends position that has more impact than DT sorry McCoy. We’ve had the best at defensive tackle, cornerback and arguable linebacker and it still hasn’t made a difference, need a quarterback to become the leader

  55. Skyline Crew Says:

That made no sense. You mean we need a leader on offense to make a difference. We haven’t had that in a long long long time. McCoy can’t be the leader on offense.

  56. Erik with CleanAthletics.com Says:

Luther, I actually agree with you 100%.

  57. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    87

Indeed we are opposites. So let’s go to the dictionary to be sure we are operating under the same meanings.

    swag·ger
    ˈswaɡər/
    verb
    1.
walk or behave in a very confident and typically arrogant or aggressive way.

    ar·ro·gant
    ˈerəɡənt/
    adjective
having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one’s own importance or abilities.

And this is why I’m not enamored with your love interest Fameis Jaboo.

i find arrogance to be a fault not a strength. When I see Richard Sherman interviewed away from the field he’s obviously articulate, very bright and educated and somebody I admire. On the field he’s obnoxious with his arrogance but he reminds me of most trash talking athletes. They need to keep telling themselves they’re great in the hopes that saying it enough will make it come true.

DB55 didn’t need to tout his own horn. Do you think that DB wasn’t ‘aggressive” or “mean” enouogh to be successful.

fameis Jaboo’s arrogance is one of his major turnoffs. Some people love trash talking braggarts, other people believe actions speak louder than words.

Fameis has obviously been told how great he is for a long time. And yes he is a great athlete but somebody forgot to teach him some fundalmental values like respect, modesty, and gratitude for God’s blessings. What has Fameis Jaboo done other than grow to be 6-5 240 with a 97 mph an hour fastball.
Incredibly special for an athlete, not such a really big deal in the scheme of life though. When he starts buying homes for single moms like Warrick Dunn another FSU grad who lacked swagger, then get back to me.

  58. 87ForJameisNOMariota Says:

I like players that talk trash and back it up. That was Sapp in his early years…the later years the mouth didn’t match the play.

There’s no humble in Jameis. He’s always been cocky, even in high school. Yet almost everyone loved his personality in high school. Teachers, principal and fellow students loved the kid, even before he was who he was.

So I say there’s nothing wrong with being cocky and arrogant on the football field as long as you back it up.

Do I like cocky, arrogant people outside of football? Hell no.

  59. 87ForJameisNOMariota Says:

Josh Freeman was a “nice guy”.

  60. worsethanlastyear Says:

    hardy! get it done!!

  61. BringBucsBack Says:

I thought the Bucs had a “no twitter policy”?

  62. LargoBuc Says:

Never again is right. Mccoy is a great player who can make an impact. However the elite players bring everyone around them to a higher level. Make it happen Gerald. I beleive in you.

  63. Matt Says:

Aahahahahahaaa GmAc. Dude stay on sides THEN you can talk. Mr Non-existent in the 4th quarter wants to.act like he ain’t part of the problem. Can’t wait to see Jameis get in his face after he jumps offsides. Hell, Trai Turner manhandled GMAc as a rookie last year. Do something GMac, get off a block…

  64. Matt Says:

AhhhHAHAHAHA still laughing. Go stretch or something GmAc so you dont get put on IR again.

  65. JFF Says:

    87JameisTOOL says:

“So I say there’s nothing wrong with being cocky and arrogant on the football field as long as you back it up.”

    You mean like this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWck-Dp-pdE

Jameis backs up his 4 INT game vs. Florida by sticking his hands up in the face of an opponent who’s standing still on the sideline. Just the right kind of cocky…for a prison inmate.
