“Way Too Much Firepower For Tampa Bay”

December 17th, 2014

Gulp!

In the three games immediately following each of the Packers’ three losses this season, Aaron Rodgers combined to throw 13 touchdowns.

Now comes rebound game No. 4 in Tampa. Green Bay lost its fourth game in Buffalo on Sunday.

Pat Kirwan, the former Bucs scout, Jets linebackers coach and Jets personnel chief, rolled out that scary stat in the Bucs-Packers preview below. He and prickly Pete Prisco take their weekly look at the matchup.

Both see the Bucs offense turning in its usual performance.

  3. Rob Says:

Sounds about right. The Bucs are severely outmatched here.. this will be the best team they’ve seen this year. Pack by 20.

  4. rayjay1122 Says:

Just another step toward the #1 pick. I hope we don’t get curb stomped though.

  5. Tye Says:

In what world could a Lovie led Bucs team beat an Aaron Rogers led Packers team…

In the old days, the battle of the Bays game was one to look forward to….And now, well, Lovie is mutilating the HC position!

  6. Cannon Fire Says:

Aaron Rodgers is coming to seek revenge for Jeff Tedford

  7. MadMax Says:

So you’re saying we dont have a chance…..lol, need this loss though to keep that coveted #1 overall pick.

  8. Waterboy Says:

As imperator I must remind you all of the amazing value selection Myron Lewis was over Richard Sherman. Because my last safety Mark Barron didn’t quite fit into Loverboy’s system, I will have massive hole at safety. Landon Collins from Alabama or Karlos Williams FSU could become the first ever safeties selected #1. Mike Glennon is the future. Anyone who disagrees I dare to meet myself, Glennen, and Lovie in the arena. Jason Light and Marco Arroyo will be sentenced at seasons end.

I give us nearly zero chance in winning this game. To beat them you have to rush the heck out of Rogers, and have excellent DB’s…as you must constantly mix up the coverage. On Offense, you can’t turn over the ball and you have to have a great running game, or a QB that can improvise well. A great Offensive line to stop Matthews, Peppers, and their pass rush helps, as they are an opportunistic defense. All those things are fundamentals that are basically our weaknesses…so a blowout wouldn’t be at all out of the question…in fact, it is very likely.

  16. mark2001 Says:

Rob…at least 20 point lead by halftime. The Packers must have this game…and they can’t afford to “call off the dogs”…I expect a massacre to the tune of the Ravens game.

  17. Drew Says:

All I want for Christmas is the #1 draft pick. Geesh!!! A Buccaneer fan praying for a loss.

  18. Drew Says:

    How bad is that?

  19. Soggy Says:

On sunday the packers will own 2 stadiums..

  20. Drew Says:

Hope we see a sea of green.

  21. MariotaOrWinstonOrWalkdaPlank Says:

Sure has the feeling of a trap game. Packers are such a much better team than the Bucs, it’s almost certain that they will win on paper, so they might not win lol. Bucs gave them a run for their money in Green Bay in 2011 (when they had quit on Morris, despite one of the best Bucs running TD’s EVER by Blount). They also punched the Seahawks in the mouth last year in Seattle.

But this is a “home” game and the Bucs suck major ass at home.

Prediction: Bucs surprise in the first half, don’t show up in the second, Pack win by at least 3 scores.

  22. tmaxcon Says:

After Rogers Loss last week and the pathetic treatment Tedford received from Liar Lovie and the Glazer Clowns… That could be a band. I bet Rogers hangs 55 on the bucs then goes home to his new hot toy Oliva. Especially since this will be a home crowd for the packers.

  23. Drew Says:

The Packers and Saints are trying to win their divisions. They’re coming to Tampa on a mission to play and win. Securing the #1 draft pick for Tampa in a neatly wrapped Christmas package with a pretty bow and a bottle of champagne to bring the new years #1 pick.

  24. MadMax Says:

    @Alex

If you care more about wins and really LOVE this team, then you’ll understand the sacrificial losses we must make these next 2 games! If you dont get it, then I wont call you an untrue fan, but I will question your ability to rationally think. We can use the #1 overall pick to improve this team in the future, whether we use it or trade down (my preference)

  25. Dirty Says:

    Cutler might be available….
That’ A lot of money to spend though….

  26. MadMax Says:

    Forget thinking upset…..McCoy isnt playing!

  27. finishers Says:

Will love go after cutler they are benching him and dumping next year! Love brought him to Chicago! Oh man here we go blah blah blah! !!!

  28. port richey george Says:

after the cheeseheads beat the bucs 50-10 on sunday lovie smith will say: things are starting to come together. I saw some good things out there. things are really starting to gel. what I would like to here lovie say: I can’t coach. I am resigning and not taking a penny more from the glazer family. I am an embarrassment to the NFL. please forgive me bucs fans.

  29. willie d Says:

how pretentious to come in and change 2/3 or the team while telling people he is a win now kind of guy. LIAR! here is the problem mr smarty pants Bucs are now about where they were last year at this time. Thanks for wasting a year just to get your guys in there.
