With Raheem the Bucs were a second half team, with Schiano they are a first half team. So take your pick, would you rather watch the Bucs storm back by a bunch of scores and fall short of a comeback, or watch them dominate the other team for 30 minutes and then choke on a huge lead. They’ve done the latter a lot this season. Choking on leads of 24, 21 and 15 points. Hopefully Schiano and the Bucs can hold Atlanta down, not let that Douglas kid make a fool out the secondary again.

They let Bryant go because he was getting older and he had a leg injury. It took him a couple years to get back to his old self.
Barth was really, really good. Hopefully his injury won’t change that.

@BracketBuc – I will not retract my statement about the 15 point choke. They had a 15-0 lead and choked on it. Props to the offense for finally finishing a game and scoring another TD to win the game. They won, yes, but they choked on a 15 point lead win or lose, but the other games they didn’t get so lucky.

Barth was only with the Chiefs before the Bucs. And he spent much of his time on the practice squad there.
Bucs went thru multiple kickers because they were trying to find a good one. At least they moved on when needed.

@BracketBuc – I don’t care what you want to call it. Going up 15-0 and and giving up 19 unanswered points is unacceptable. Whether the Bucs won or lost, they gave up a 15 point lead without so much as scoring a FG before scoring the TD after losing the lead. I’m happy they won, but that doesn’t excuse giving up 19 unanswered points and losing a 15 point lead. It shows Schiano and his team can’t hold a lead. I’m hoping they prove me wrong in this game.

I’m not on the Schiano bandwagon but in fairness we should see how the rest of the year plays out.
The MRSA was not Schiano’s fault. Now we know that Freeman was not Schiano’s fault and a cancer in the locker room.
The stupid penalties and horrid play calling were on Schiano but that’s seems to have improved.
And I don’t wish to bum out the Schiano haters but the Glazers are likely to give him another year.
What we don’t know is the behind the scenes story. Just how hard did Schiano lobby Dominik and the Glazers to dump Josh in the off season? If Schiano made a compelling case and management told him to eat it because they had already wasted a high pick on Josh…then that’s on management not Schiano.
@JOE Can you dig for us and find out what happened last off season. Was Schiano lobbying hard to dump Josh and told he had to keep him because of the high draft choice?

Man- this was what we expected in the Begininning.

We have to stop this “franchise QB” nonsense. Yes it’s great to have a Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, Brees or Rodgers but those guys are far and few between.
It’s a luxury to have a Q.B that can put a team on his back and carry it. It’s also uncommon. And even with a “franchise QB” there’s no assurance of a SB. Can you say Dan Marino?
Were Brad Johnson or Trent Dilfer “franchise Q.B’s”? Joe Flacco. Matty Ice?
These guys are very good players but not able to win without a great team behind them.
Defense wins championships. We have some real promise there. We have the potential of one great running back…another potentially great running back and now a third running back. The offensive line has finally started living up to it’s rep. Davin is getting healthy. Imagine this line if Nicks ever gets healthy.
Do not bet the family farm on a “franchise QB” in the draft if it appears that Glennon can at least be a competent professional that wont PREVENT us from getting into the playoffs. The TEAM can make the playoffs with a “competent” professional at Q.B. Don’t waste all the money on one position and make another big Josh Freeman like gamble.
Hell even when we guess right we run them out of town. Dilfer…Young…Williams..

You do not need a Manning or Rodgers or Brees to get to or even win the S.B.
Flacco doesn’t carry the Ravens by himself. We see Matty Ice is human. Does anybody call Trent Dilfer or Brad Johnson a “franchise QB.’ I don’t. But I do call them smart men, great competitors and blessed to play with great defenses.
This defense has a chance to be great. Don’t gamble the family farm on a QB and spend all that money. I want another great pass rusher to help GMAC and another great DB, perhaps a linebacker for depth and obviously we need depth at WR and TE.
Glennon doesn’t need to be great…just solid. He has one huge advantage over many other Q.B.’s He’s really, really smart. He gets it. He works hard.
Give him this O line with Nicks back and now 3 terrific RB’s and another target and we’ll be ok next year.
