Zyon McCollum: No Chance To Trick Aaron Rodgers
October 18th, 2026
Knows he has to ball out.
The Bucs, if everything stays consistent through the end of the season, will have one helluva pair of corners.
KitKat-eating Bucs coach Todd Bowles has bragged that Zyon McCollum is no longer bored; he’s playing All-Pro-level corner.
And then there is Jacob Parrish playing outside corner in the NFL full-time for the first time after a few starts for Jamel Dean last season. He has seven passes defensed, tied with five players and just one behind NFL leader Amik Robertson of the Commandos.
But today the Bucs are facing a different beast. Drama queen Aaron Rodgers may no longer be quick now that he is 42, but the Steelers quarterback can still sling the rock.
Further, McCollum said this week at One Buc Palace that Rodgers is as smart and savvy as ever. So McCollum knows he has to be at his absolute best when the whistile blows today at The Licht House.
“He’s seen every corner,” McCollum said. “He’s seen aggressive guys, guys that aren’t as aggressive. He knows how to play in all situations.
“We’ve got to do a good job.”
Well, as Joe likes to point out, Tampa is not one of Rodgers’ favorite destinations. It’s warm he generally doesn’t play well in warm weather. Then, Rodgers has it in his head the turf at The Licht House is awful. He once hurt his foot here and blamed the turf at The Licht House. LOL
Rodgers is 2-3 in his five starts in Tampa. The only time the offense he led scored more than 21 points in a game here was in 2009, when the Bucs won 38-28. It was Josh Freeman’s first start and it was Lee Roy Selmon Day as the Bucs retired his number and wore creamsicle to celebrate.
With Rodgers set to retire after this season, it’s a perfect time for the Bucs to give Rodgers one last bad taste in his mouth for Tampa.

Our corners will play great. Their wide receiver room is in bad condition. Their 2 and 3 are out and Metcalf is questionable. Their #4 is now their #1 if Metcalf can’t go.

Parrish came as a rookie making plays n hadn’t let up. He’s consistent n a playmaker. As for McCollum, in his fifth year, I still haven’t bought in to him. He’s passive n inconsistent. He’s been bored during his entirety in the league. McCollum n Dean are two bored players that are inconsistent play passive. I was so glad we were done with Dean. Parrish reminds me of a Brent Grimes on steroids who can tackle. Why do we continue to draft players who play passive, fragile, timid, scared, who shows no signs of aggressiveness with a violent approach. It took former players such as Suh, JPP, Brady, Fournette, n current player A’Shawn Robinson to bring an aggressive n violent approach to the players. The following former n current players below all have the same thing in common:
1.Vernon Hargreaves
2.OJ Howard
3.Jamel Dean
4.JTS
5.Jaelon Darden
6.Logan Hall
7.Cade Otton
8.Zyon McCollum
9.Trey Palmer
10.Chris Braswell

Maybe we should put these corners on the TE’S today. Steelers receivers are garbage. They won’t rush on bowles d that’s a given. I just trust veteran qb over our udfa qb. Unless bucky goes for 150 bucs lose.

Anzalone and Trotter are going to need help. Neither can cover Tight Ends worth the darn, Scitt us going to need to cheat down a little to tighten up the middle. That’s the area we’re exposed and why we can’t get off the field on third down.

Expecting a big day from Pittsburghs TEs, and backs in the passing game. Dennis on the massive Washington? Going to be a long day for our LBs. They can beat us without their wide outs.

Roger’s is an old man playing a young man’s game. Put him on his ass a couple times and he’ll get erratic.

Bucs cover WRs – no problem.
Bucs stop the Steelers running game – no problem.
But as Hodad points out, the Steelers TEs and RBs will destroy the Bucs with short/intermediate passes over the middle.

I hope at least one defender points out to Rogers that the Bulls played on that field late last night!
