Sean Tucker Silliness Returns II
October 2nd, 2026
More threats to play Sean Tucker.
It’s getting old and it is frankly a slap in the face to a guy who has done nothing but bust his arse for the Bucs and has provided a needed spark in the run game.
Joe blew off steam yesterday after the usual smoke-blowing about how Sean Tucker is a valuable asset but he’s buried on the bench near the used towels bag.
Wednesday, KitKat-eating Bucs coach Todd Bowles was asked about Tucker and he agreed. Tucker needs to be on the field.
“Yeah, we talked about it. He definitely needs to run the ball a little bit more.”
Talked about it. Does Bowles not have any authority with the offense? He sure did last year when he admitted he had to help out former Bucs offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard. Yet, Tucker was more rumor than fact.
This year, Tucker has just as many carries as you and Joe. Combined. That would be zero.
Bucs offensive coordinator Zac Robinson got into the Tucker smoke-blowing yesterday when asked if Tucker needs to be on the field more.
“100 percent,” Robinson confidently said. “Got to get ‘Tuck’ going. He is special with the ball in his hands, as you guys have seen from his time here.
“So, that’s up to us as coaches – we’ve got to find spots to mix him in there. Again, some of the rhythm of some of those plays where we’re getting into second-and-longs, third-and-longs, knowing he’s a little bit more, especially, [of a] first- and second-down back.
“So, I’ve got to mix him in there. That’s our responsibility as coaches. But looking forward to ‘Tuck,’ when he gets those opportunities, taking advantage of them for sure.”
There you go, Coach. You have the power to put Tucker on the field and get him more involved if he truly is the asset coaches claim he is. Robinson has the authority (allegedly) to put Tucker in the game, or to craft plays to use him for peak performance.
When you’re 0-3 and you’re down to an undrafted rookie free agent at quarterback, it might behoove the Bucs to play as many talented guys as possible to help Jalon Daniels.
All hands on deck for the rookie and to maybe save your season.
All the Tucker hype is just empty words to make Tucker feel good if he’s not on the field.

This is the same O-line that ranked fourth in the league in rushing yardage in 2024. This year’s team ranks 31st in running plays called. What gives? It is not as though they are falling way behind and have to catch up, they haven’t been two scores down all year. Well, Mr. Robinson?

Tucker, Walker…both sides of the ball. These coaches are so deficient.
October 2nd, 2026 at 4:36 am
These guys are really beyond clueless. I say fire them all and let the players call their own plays the rest of the way.
Lord of the flies.

Browns on that 3 game winning streak 🤣
October 2nd, 2026 at 5:04 am
They overpaid for Gainwell and can’t seem to get much for him either. Interesting how some of these players have just disappeared. At some point the OC has to answer for that.
October 2nd, 2026 at 5:22 am
Todd seems like he is uninterested and just biding his time.

Z Rob thinks Bucky is Bijan clearly. This is definitely a RBBC situation, we love Bucky, but 20+ carries is not sustainable. Feed Tuck, its getting so tiring at this point.
October 2nd, 2026 at 5:44 am
Maybe we should have promoted Tucker to RB2 and kept Josh Williams or brought in a new UFA. I think Gainwell was supposed to be a RW knockoff.
October 2nd, 2026 at 5:50 am
How about we utilize Godwin first then we can figure out Tucker. Why we sign Gainwell for $14 million for 2 years, and what is his role.

I don’t like this guy. So many problems with the offense in what was the strength of the team. Now the O-line suddenly cannot block. WRs are not getting separation, except on occasion. $14M man is not getting half the touches. Cade is are go to guy? What is the common denominator? Zac Robinson.
Another great hire by our defensive wizard.

With the horrible protection that the line has been giving, I don’t see how you put a pure runner in the backfield. I threw up while typing that but Tucker can’t block. On the other hand, with a rookie QB you’re probably going to run the ball on all first, second and half of the third downs so maybe this is the game to put him in. What a disappointment the offense has been so far this year. Never saw that coming.

Bowles is meddling with the offense, no wonder it is going belly up.

“Does Bowles not have any authority with the offense? He sure did last year when he admitted he had to help out former Bucs offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard. Yet, Tucker was more rumor than fact.”
It’s been 4 years and 4 different OCs, we’ve heard about OCs getting free reign over the offense and Bowles chimes in others aspects of the offense in-game every single year. Don’t understand the shock, and him helping Grizzard was what White talked about saying Bowles spread himself thin. Funny enough in that same interview White mentioned Robinson as a potential replacement for Grizzard.
“With the horrible protection that the line has been giving, I don’t see how you put a pure runner in the backfield. I threw up while typing that but Tucker can’t block. ”
If you get a chance, go back and watch the Eric Wilson sack from last Sunday. Bucky got absolutely steam rolled by Wilson who went through Irving to sack Mayfield. So all this “can’t block” stuff doesn’t really matter. Now, when we run inside zone or gap stuff, those are usually the plays we saw Tucker make some things happen. Like that power sweep, with the left side of the OL pulling to the right. That’s the type of sh*t we need early.

This was exactly my point in the other article. Todd Bowles probably doesn’t concern himself with specific players for specific packages, but Zac Robinson should.
October 2nd, 2026 at 7:51 am
Yes Tuck should be getting carries and so should Gainwell. That we can’t figure out how to use these three who have all proven they can play at a high level is absolutely an indictment of the OC.
Running the ball successfully which we have done at times will also help the pass blocking when not in obvious passing downs.
October 2nd, 2026 at 8:15 am
Bet he could start on more than a few teams.
October 2nd, 2026 at 8:19 am
lol can’t even get the highest paid rb on our team the ball and have good stats but yes let’s get tucker some run. wtf is wrong with this team? 7 mil for gainwell to block and get murdered before he reaches the line of scrimmage. He didn’t just forget how to run the ball. I like Tucker but damn this love affair with the guy is wild. You’d think he’s Barry sanders the way people pine for him
October 2nd, 2026 at 8:31 am
Dude looks like Michael Pittman 25 years ago. Let him run the freaking ball 7-10 carries a game. I don’t have time to look back, but, I think it’s safe to assume Tucker was a nice accessory to have with an innovative OC – e.g. Liam Cohen – finding ways to utilize his strengths.

Coaching Malpractice!
McDermott 2027!
October 2nd, 2026 at 9:35 am
Right now this team has been so dysfunctional, I’m speechless. So many mistakes especially by the offense. They’ve have put the defense in tough situations. It’s difficult to assess if the defense has improved or not.
Right now this team is in disarray. Fans have been hating on Todd Bowles for awhile and it’s about to enter into another level.

2027 coaching preference rankings:
1) Sean McVay – in last year of contract & Stafford retiring. If he doesn’t re-sign a new contract, pay him whatever you have to and bring him BACK to Tampa!!
2) Sean McDermitt – awesome coach!!
That’s it. Nobody else!!!
October 2nd, 2026 at 9:51 am
Seems like Tucker is in exactly the same boat as Rachaad White…. hot hand, earned the touches, doesn’t get them.
October 2nd, 2026 at 9:58 am
He’s so awesome he’s out of job.
October 2nd, 2026 at 10:31 am
Mcdermott and Tomlin would obviously be better than what we have as coach, but I don’t see the owners ers going with another defensive-minded coach. Historically they go the opposite direction. So hot young, offensive assistants or possibly pedigreed offensive minded established coaches is likely the direction they would go in.
October 2nd, 2026 at 10:48 am
Yes, “spots”, but Tuck unfortunately can’t get on the field when the Bucs offense is always 3rd and 12, 3rd and 9, or 3rd and 15, usually the result of sacks and penalties.
October 2nd, 2026 at 10:57 am
$7 million dollar man Kenny Gainwell has tallied 10 carries for 21 yards rushing and has 6 catches for 22 yards. If they paid him that I expected there was a plan and that plan would be a significant upgrade over Rachaad White. I’m sure Gainwell can prove he is worth his contract but with talk of “finding ways to get Bucky more touches” and these assertions about Tucker’s role it’s hard to see Robinson’s yapping amounting to anything soon.
It seems his “plan” is dump-off passes for everybody! That plan sucks.
October 2nd, 2026 at 11:40 am
Ok, so this really irritated me. You mean to tell me that Zac Robinson knows that Tucker can tote the rock but just can’t seem to get him carries. After we are 0-3, now he’s going to try and get him the ball. To me that is coaching malpractice. You got an offense which has struggled. The only one running the ball with any success is Bucky. When Gainwell has ran the ball he was ineffective. So if you know that Tucker can run the ball why didn’t you at least try him a couple of times in the first three games. The Bucs have to really make an effort to run the ball. If you look when they have been the most successful it has been when they have had a good running game. It is especially important now that we have a rookie QB starting his first game. Hopefully Zac Robinson will also tell Daniel’s that it is ok if we have to punt sometimes, you don’t have to be Superman.
October 2nd, 2026 at 11:43 am
No offense, but this offense isn’t being saved by giving the 3rd string RB more carries, and the fact that someone actually asked about him in a press conference just shows how unserious about football the local media hacks are.
October 2nd, 2026 at 11:45 am
Steven, I’m for McDermott but not Tomlin. Tomlin is also a 3-4 guy, so you’re not really changing anything with Tomlin other than getting a more disciplined and respected coach (something that can’t be said about Bowles).
October 2nd, 2026 at 1:05 pm
I’m a big Tucker fan, but I have to admit that the less he plays, the better he gets, at least in our imaginations. Having the coaches reinforce our fantasies does not help. At least his critics here allege that he can’t block and isn’t a proven receiver. They, I assume, would have cut him a long time ago. What is maddening is for a person to boast of his fantastic new Porsche but never open the garage doors.
October 2nd, 2026 at 2:22 pm
I don’t think Bowles or Robinson either one have much say in the offense.
Looks like a rudderless ship.
That’s sinking.
Beating the pathetic Packers in the “ Return to the bay of Pigs Bowl” this Sunday won’t change that.
Bad GM. Bad Head Coach. Bad OC. Bad old players who have quit by week 3.
It’s gonna be a long Season.
