Morning Cup Of Joe
October 27th, 2026
Welcome to your Morning Cup of Joe, an eye-opener to help Joe’s readers ease into their busy workday with a few football links, wacky news and a pleasant distraction.
Steelers drama queen quarterback Aaron Rodgers caught fibbing. [PFT]
Is it Fernando Mendoza time in Las Vegas? [CBS]
John Harbaugh is still bent about Cam Skatteboo getting flagged for hitting the hole too hard. [Yahoo!]
What we learned from Sunday’s games. [NFL]
How is this a flag? [TikTok]
“The King of All Media,” Howard Stern weighs in on the Troy Aikman/BSPN drama. [Awful Announcing]
A 10 a.m. kickoff doesn’t sound good. [Outkick]
The future of bowls. [Front Office Sports]
Dan Lanning declares Dante Moore out for the season. That’s one helluva “concussion.” [On3]
For reasons unclear, Joe can’t wrap his arms around alt-broadcasts of football games. Joe doesn’t get the Manning Bros. show where the game is secondary. Joe doesn’t get the announcer-less feeds (unless the only other option is Gus Johnson) or the constant end zone camera angles. And Joe certainly doesn’t get Red Zone Channel. If Joe is going to watch a game, he’s going to watch a game, not watch distractions or a couple of talking heads babbling with a Hollywood starlet or just shallow highlights. Non-stop highlights have no depth, no soul, no … meaning. Like substituting a beef rib or a ribeye with a slice of beef jerky. Still think the Manning Bros. show would be significantly better as a weeknight postgame show. [Sport and State]
Don’t mess with the Four Horsemen. [X]
Fun flying. (Who knew that when facing death, someone’s final request is for Yanni?) [TikTok]

🚨 Pat McAfee GOES OFF on the University of Utah 😳
He says he’s never felt so uncomfortable, even bringing up what happened at UVU last year.

Redzone is great if the Bucs game isn’t on – I can keep track of all games that way

Just a quick comment about Dante Moore, I suffered a concussion beginning of September. Not fun at all, I was miserable. Idk how these guys come back after a week. I was out for 2 and probably should have had another week, but I won’t get into it. He got stretchered off, if I recall, and mine was significantly less impactful than his. Everyone is different and no two concussions are the same. Hoping for the best for that young man.

Red Zone is huge for two reasons. Legalized gambling like DraftKings & Fan Dual for one. Then you have fantasy football. Over 40 million people in America play fantasy football (and growing). Red Zone shows basically every TD scored throughout the day. Makes watching more exciting.

100% agree on the alt broadcasts. The Mannings on particular are horrible,
and short of fabricating viewer statistics I cannot see why advertisers would pay to sponsor the program.

This was the best incarnation of the Four Horsemen. Ric Flair, Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson, Ole Anderson, and managed by J.J. Dillon. The worst was Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Chris Benoit, and Steve ‘Mongo’ McMichael.
That’s messed up! I cannot show this video to my wife because I always tell her, “It’s just turbulence. It’s not as if the plane is going to fall apart.”
I haven’t heard a Yanni reference in many years.
