Josiah Trotter Talks Lost Interception, Aaron Rodgers On-Field Moment

October 18th, 2026

So fans watching on TV today saw a moment when Bucs rookie linebacker Josiah Trotter was in the grille of Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Joe asked Trotter about in the somber Bucs postgame locker room.

Trotter led the Bucs with 12 tackles and a pass defensed in today’s overtime loss to Pittsburgh. That one pass defense, however, was a sure interception and likely pick-six that Trotter had two hands on. He just didn’t squeeze it.

The rookie mentioned that as an example when talking about how the Bucs’ failure to close out games comes down to too much failed execution.

As for him in Rodgers face in the Steelers backfield and the 42-year-old QB smiling, Trotter said it had nothing to do with the trash talk for which Trotter is known.

“Just talking. That was a dude I grew up loving to watch and play at the QB position. I remember being a kid. I took a picture with [Rodgers] when I was 11 years old,” Trotter said.

“So that’s just somebody I’ve known a long time, and now I’m playing against him. He remembered me, especially my dad and my brother and stuff like that. So it was just a cool moment talking to him real quick. No trash, but mutual respect.”

As for fixing what ails the Buccaneers, Trotter said the team needs to continue its excellent practice energy and “go back to the drawing board.”

  5. El Hefe Bucc Says:

This is strictly an offense problem. The defense was solid multiple sacks couple takeaways the offense means to get their stuff together like yesterday not soon not today yesterday.

  6. Tucker Says:

Just like the bucs under Todd not good enough to be good at anything glad the glazers decided to go against the fans with their superior wisdom.

Trotter should have caught that and brought it to the house.

I want Munch to acknowledge that Daniels lost this game. No rookie excuses.

He choked with the pick. He choked with the bad throws.

    Acknowledge.

Yep, and if DaRon Bland doesn’t drop the sure pick six last week, the Bucs are 0-5 entering this game.

There’s a reason these guys aren’t wide receivers and tight ends.

  14. Dennis Says:

He making plenty of pile on tackles the way 50 and Clancy have played easy to clean up numbers at mlb

  19. Steven007 Says:

Ken, Daniels single-handedly lost that game. It was easy for all of us to see wasn’t it? The absent Munch will never ever acknowledge. Because he’s a coward unless things go exactly his way. When the narrative doesn’t fit? Silence.

  20. B Says:

That offense was moving in the first half when Godwin was a primary target and seemed to stall as it shifted to Egbuka.

  21. Ex-Browns02 Says:

Trotter had a great game — in the middle of everything within his proximity. He looked like a seasoned veteran! Expecting more of a rookie is nuts!

I’m trying to figure out why Anzalone is even on the field. What is he doing?
