David Walker Needs To Be On The Field. Period!

October 18th, 2026

The time is now.

Joe is happier than you can ever imagine confess the following:

Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht was absolutely correct. Edge rusher David Walker is truly living up to the hype.

Through four games playing a part-time role, the second-year outside linebacker has four sacks through six games.

With 11 games left, this guy just might get to 10!

Who said KitKat-eating Bucs coach Todd Bowles can’t develop an edge rusher? But playing him is another matter.

In the fourth quarter, when the Bucs desperately needed Walker today, too often Joe saw Walker pulled off the field. That shouldn’t be happening the rest of the year.

Steelers star T.J. Watt admitted the Steelers were gassed. They are not prepared for Florida weather — even though it’s borderline winter-like for Floridians. Watt referred to “the heat” today. Hell, locals are breaking out sweaters.

The fourth quarter was the time to take advantage with Walker getting after ancient drama queen Aaron Rodgers.

The rest of the season, on passing downs, there is no good reason not to have Walker on the field.

Unless Bowles is trying to get fired.

We had 5 sacks today and still lost.

  2. Cmallie Says:

David Walker needs to be on the field? Why, exactly?? What’s the point? The smart move is to tank the remaining games, probably going g to do that anyway, then get a top pick.

  3. 813bucboi Says:

    Agree Joe

Who cares? This team is done for

  6. 76 replay Says:

Warren…we give up many 3rd and 15 or more.

  7. Cmallie Says:

Nobody cares, not even the players apparently

  8. SenileSenior Says:

We do have some talent on this team. Not everyone we drafted in the last three years is a bust. Oh, well.

    Go Bucs!

  9. Oxycondomns Says:

funny how many posters on here thought bowles and daniels would take the bucs somewhere

  10. Bojim Says:

Bowles doesnt like him or Tucker for some weird reason.

  11. Tampa2ATL Says:

Walker was (again) bright spot this afternoon. Balled out when given opportunity.

  12. Anyhony Says:

Should have taken the ball in overtime since the Steelers D was gassed.

  13. Kenton Smith Says:

WBL. Watching the Chiefs Chargers, KC just sacked Herbert. Announcers said that’s the first Chiefs sack in 3 and a half games. They’re undefeated.

Might as well pi$$ off Joe. You know that little pearl of information about the Chiefs could push him over the edge.

  14. Captain Butt Sweat Says:

    NO HE DOESN’T…. It’s over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. BucfaninMi Says:

A handful of good seasons out 51 😐 why? Why do I torture myself with this stupid team? I don’t live there anymore and haven’t for a long time. I really got nothing left.

  16. Miller5252 Says:

The list of reasons why Bowles shouldn’t be a head coach gets bigger after every week. Listening to people call Bowles a defensive guru just proves they never watch Bucs games. Between this and why Assalone is still on the field blows me away. Assalone should be the one on the field for 14 snaps, if at all a game and Walker should only come out when he’s tired.

  17. Tucker Says:

It’s the player more than the coach joe it always has been that way.

  18. mj Says:

david walker rules, dude has got it, only our retarded coaches would keep this game wrecker on the bench

  19. Ed Says:

Walker looks faster and stronger than Bain

  20. mobucs Says:

    The man should be playing.

  21. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

The only blind man who doesn’t see Walker’s skills is the fat man in the bathtub with the blues. (Little Feat reference). Toad has always been clueless and remains clueless. Glazers are clueless as well.

  22. ElioT Says:

The Steelers defense was gassed and Todd decided to kick the ball in OT…

    What a genius move.

  23. SummerofGeorge Says:

Teflon Todd doesn’t need sacks or wins to keep his jobs!!!

He’s cornered the market in Tampa on being a clueless fool.

It’s actually quite impressive. Do nothing, fall a$$ backwards into money, coach a team in the worst division in the NFL, zero expectations of winning.

Great work if you can get it!!!

  24. adam from ny Says:

walker in full time play is possibly a 15 sack guy…

in a career year could maybe break shaq’s team record…?

what is wrong with the coaches…he has no problem getting to the quarterback…

and yes more roseboom as well…bring in the boom…!

  25. Frank Pillow Says:

    78, 25, 22, 23, 51 and 45 have grit. That’s it.

  26. Itzok Says:

more coaching malpractice. hes retarded. anyone with iq above room temperature would put yaya and bain on the bench. they arent producing. but walker and robinson should start. it obvious. but the coach is a moron

  27. Coburn Says:

He’s practically a rookie. If bowles is somehow still around next year don’t worry, hr will find a way to make walker suddenly forget how to play like the other guys that come in looking like studs for a year or two

  28. Proudbucfan Says:

Bain got a sack today, you A—holes that are saying Bain needs to be benched and he’s a bust don’t know anything about football. Edge rushers take time to develop. There have only been 36 players in the history of the NFL that have had at least double digit sacks as a rookie. Bain is going to get stronger and he will make you haters eat your words

Should have taken the ball in overtime since the Steelers D was gassed.

    ___________

    Ding. Ding. Ding.

And our defense was too. I said in the game day thread it was a mistake not taking the ball first. Sure enough, Rodgers leads a 7 minute TD drive down the field…
