“Illness” Still Floating Through Bucs Locker Room
October 29th, 2026
“Illness” on injury report.
There is a flu bug going through the Bucs locker room. Apparently it is nasty.
Joe knows a Bucs suit who caught it last week and he was down and out for four. He was so bad off that he didn’t even attempt to go to Carolina with the team.
Joe thinks he can use this off-the-record quote as the suit told Joe that no way was he going to be responsible for infecting the team plane.
“Baker Mayfield might be able to get away with it but I can’t,” the suit joked.
Last week there were several players who missed time or were limited in practice with the illness. Wednesday, there were some players who were battling the bug.
The biggest name might be star rookie inside linebacker Josiah Trotter. He didn’t practice Wednesday. YaYa Diaby, fresh off his three-sack game at Carolina, was limited in practice but he too had the flu bug.
The way YaYa played on Sunday, we all should be that sick.
Right tackle Luke Goedeke also missed practice. He missed the game against the Stinking Panthers, too. as he is battling a calf injury.
Kenny Gainwell was a nice piece of the bulldozing running attack last Sunday. He missed practice as well as he has a bum hip. That might slow down a running back.
Safety Antoine Winfield did practice on Wednesday and was a full participant. He has a rib injury.

The illness is called Todd Bowles. It infects everyone associated with him.
Mediocrity becomes acceptable and winning is secondary to spinning a narrative.
Seems like the Joe’s are not immune to it after Sunday. Vommit inducing praise of the HC\DC that is winless at home.

Hopefully the flu bug will be no big deal. I justhope that Bowles has someone besides SVD covering Kyle Pitts this time around. I made a killing betting on his productions props on the “3rd and 28” game last season and do not want a repeat but let’s face it, if Bowles shuts down London and keeps Bijan in check, the ATL will be feeding Pitts the ball until Bowles figures out how to neutralize the TE coming acrross in the flat, it’s easy oney until Todd figures it out. Hoping for a Buc win but Todd Bowles forces me to keep my expectations low.

No team has better medical and training staffs than the Bucs. Other teams must we way worse off with this. Hopefully Todd doesn’t catch it.
