Bucs Are In A Playoff Chase With Stinking Panthers’ Loss To Packers

October 30th, 2026

Still in it.

It ain’t close to being over.

Thanks to the Packers, who beat the Stinking Panthers Thursday night 27-19, the 2-5 Bucs are very much in the race for the NFC South landfill title and a home playoff game.

Here are the current standings in the NFC South landfill:

NFC South landfill
Stinking Panthers 3-4
Dixie Chicks 3-4
Bucs 2-5
Slimy Saints 2-5

The Bucs host the Dixie Chicks this Sunday at The Licht House. If the Bucs prevail, they will be in second place thanks to a (current) tiebreaker with the head-to-head win over Atlanta. With nine games to play, the Bucs would be but a half-game out of first place.

And thanks to the curb-stomping of the Stinking Panthers last Sunday, the Bucs currently have a tiebreaker over the Stinking Panthers.

So yes, even after losing five of the first seven games, the Bucs are absolutely in a playoff chase.

Thank goodness for this lousy division!

The WORST Division in all of sports.

They’ll find a way to **** this up.

Only a mad man would proclaim with glee that this team is worth anything above a dumpster full of rotting cow dung.

4-12 in the last 16. The standards have fallen to a low point that is hard to fathom.

We will never reach another SB with this mindset. Todd Bowles created this culture.

The Glazers love it. Very sad. Let’s not speak for Joe, especially when it’s not accurate. Thank you. –Joe

Yes. Thank the heavens the glazers only care about (the possibility of) getting their money from an embarrassing home playoff loss in January. Thank goodness there’s not a good team in the division that will cut off that train.

    Yay!!!! Celebrate!

Bucs coming up on that mid season losing streak that Bowles has perfected

  7. Bucfan1988 Says:

Perhaps this year, our annual losing streak was at the START of the season then we lock down 🙂

Wouldn’t that be crazy as hell???

I think Bucs D has really come along this year!
If we can level off on the offense and get some sort of a passing game with Erin game, then we got a decent shot here.

It’s time for Z-Rob to open up the passing game with play action UNDER CENTER, not in shotgun!!! Add some bootlegs and roll Baker out with short passing game!!

So your saying, there’s a chance?…We could be the best of the worst. We are not there yet but if we work really hard we could do it. Go BUCS!

  9. SkunkApe Says:

It’s sad. If we win the division, the Glazers will be considering NOT firing Bowles. Winning the landfill with an 8-9 or 9-8 record is not anything to be proud of. Sorry. If that’s gonna be their sh!tty record, I’d rather lose the division again.

They could be in the proverbial “driver’s seat” if they win on Sunday. Can’t imagine how bad a loss they would suffer in the playoffs, but hey. Let’s see. Lot of season to go.

there should be a rule in football…

with all the extra wild cards and add ons to the playoff scenario over the years…

    the rule should be:

if a team wins a division and is under .500…they must forfeit their playoff status, and another team in the same conference with the best record is thus awarded a playoff spot, with the next best winning record & strongest schedule of victories, if there is a tie between potential replacement teams …

as there would obviously be a couple, or a few teams, with 9-8 records or better, who somehow got snubbed…

i’ve seen many 9-7 or 10-6 teams get snubbed and sit home for the playoffs over the years…

even the bucs missed the playoff at 10-6 in the past…

a team under .500 should not be awarded a playoff spot and should actually be penalized for sucking…

yes, penalized for sucking on a very grandiose scale…

can a team possible win the nfc south with 10 losses…at 7-10…holy moly…!…if all hell breaks loose it could be on the table
