Aaron Rodgers Didn’t Disappoint: He Bellyached About The Turf At The Licht House
October 19th, 2026
Joe expected this and wrote about it last week. And drama queen Aaron Rodgers did not disappoint.
Rodgers won his third game at The Licht House yesterday. He’s now 3-3 there. The Licht House, through Rodgers’ brilliant career, had been a house of horrors for him.
Yesterday was the first time an offense Rodgers quarterbacked scored over 21 points with him as the winning quarterback. Whether it is the warm weather — Rodgers has a rotten record in warm weather cities — or the turf, who knows why Rodgers has struggled in Tampa?
Rodgers hates the turf of The Licht House. He’s convinced it is evil and he blames the turf for him injuring his foot before.
So in what is expected to be his last season, just before he walked out the door of The Licht House for the final time in his life, Rodgers made sure to blast the place.
“It’s got to be one of the worst surfaces in the league – and we’re talking about player safety,” Rodgers whined. “I’m very thankful to not get hurt.
“I’ve gotten hurt twice on this field. In my opinion, because of the turf, I know [the University of South Florida] plays here, I believe. But, that surface, I don’t think is very safe.”
And you know what, Rodgers played the first three quarters like he was trying not to get hurt. He rarely stepped into throws. He threw flat-footed.
In fact, the Sage of Tampa Bay sports, Ira Kaufman, remarked that Rodgers played like an old man afraid to get hurt in the first half yesterday. So, as Joe suspects, the turf really does live rent-free in Rodgers’ head.
Joe has never heard a player whine about the turf at The Licht House other than Rodgers.

Well he got the last laugh. A loss at Carolina this week officially ends the season
October 19th, 2026 at 8:03 am
Let’s not screw this up. We are currently set to pick 4th in the NFL draft next year. We will end up behind the Fins if we follow the plan. Titans and Charges will find their way. The Bucs are lost with an entitled leader HC and a village drunk QB.
October 19th, 2026 at 8:09 am
@joe this is starting to sound like an 80’s movie we are all familiar with where the owner wanted to move the team out of Cleveland…..turf on the field is trash, hire the worst coaches imaginable, by nickel and dime players, 90% opposing teams fans in the stadium……this is the football version of that movie….its quite obvious the Glazers only care about the money, no cares about anything else
October 19th, 2026 at 8:13 am
I noticed it in the broadcast! That turf was patched together in noticeable strips.
October 19th, 2026 at 8:29 am
Do we start the FIRE SALE and unload AWJ, Godwin, Yaya, Vita and Kancey or do we wait one more week that’s over 100 million right here
October 19th, 2026 at 8:32 am
turf the turf
October 19th, 2026 at 8:32 am
The turf did look dry yesterday
October 19th, 2026 at 8:34 am
If is wasn’t for the turf, we would have won that game. Has Bowles said it yet?
October 19th, 2026 at 8:36 am
Turf didn’t stop him from getting that win or for the defense to let them drive down the field when they needed a stop this is a bad team all around oh but the culture man that sure means a lot.
October 19th, 2026 at 8:36 am
@NCbucsfan. The season is already over. What playoff team can this dumpster fire Todd Bowles run team beat? None.
October 19th, 2026 at 8:38 am
Do we start the Fire Sale now. AWJ, Kancey, Vita, Yaya and Godwin that’s over 100 mil right there. And the O-Line is a mess we could replace 2 or 3 of them. My call is to start selling them off. If were lucky that 5 2nd round picks.
October 19th, 2026 at 8:45 am
The old man only needed a half to beat our home town heros. Let that sink in.
October 19th, 2026 at 8:50 am
Turf was more impactful than Todd’s scheme if we are to believe nutjob Arod
My 6-11 prediction looks better and better every week, thanks for the easy $$$ Todd
October 19th, 2026 at 8:51 am
Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t both teams play on the same turf yesterday?
October 19th, 2026 at 8:54 am
If he’s so concerned about player safety, then why does he continue to wear a helmet that was banned for safety reasons?
October 19th, 2026 at 8:58 am
We all knew how this season was going to go, well about 75-80% of us anyway…
There were exactly 5 season ticket holders in sec 219 top rows, where it is normally 100% Bucs – seems like most have already thrown in the towel and are trying to recoup some of our lost investments!
October 19th, 2026 at 9:05 am
Obviously, Aaron Rodgers is Right!!
The evilly possessed turf missed out on crippling Rodgers- due only to his caution and prayers to the Football gods.
But He reached up and Crippled McCarthy! He got to spend halftime in the Med Tent.
He didn’t heed Rodgers warning. Now, he’s on Coach IR!
Cursed turf is our only chance to win another game!
October 19th, 2026 at 9:22 am
Bowles hates the turf too. Thats the next thing to go
October 19th, 2026 at 9:24 am
It’s called the Den of Depression now! How many more home losses do we need before you finally embrace that name again Joe?!
Joe retired the name. But Joe might be up for a new name if the Bucs win one or less at home.–Joe
October 19th, 2026 at 9:26 am
@JUG2…I promise you there were no opposing fans in Baltimores Memorial Stadium!! There was just no fans to watch the Colts, however the fans didn’t come because they were tired of losing.. Especially when Elway went to Denver. You got you azz beat in those days rooting for the other team!!
October 19th, 2026 at 9:26 am
Can you imagine Bowles dealing with a real media city, lets say NYC? Watch the post game interviews for the Giants. The Tampa Bay New Media is soft and lobs volleyball questions. Get tough Tampa Bay Media. Ask tough questions. Pin him down. Let’s get some press in there that can ask the pointed questions. Flush the washed up half retired media buffoons (Ira) and the mousekateer (Jenna) asking the softest questions U have ever seen at a presser ~ I am waiting for her to ask if anyone’s feeling are hurt since we have not been playing well.
October 19th, 2026 at 9:49 am
He got the only stat of the game that matters. The W.
Todd got the stat he’s completely happy with. The L.
0-4 at home and he still has a job somehow.
I think we all know what keeps him employed.
October 19th, 2026 at 9:50 am
Baker should complain more. Dak is more over paid and under performing than Baker. There are still 11 games left. Win 9 and 10-6 should be enough for a division or Wild card.
October 19th, 2026 at 9:54 am
Garropolo still available.
October 19th, 2026 at 10:32 am
The new name Joe I submit for the Den Of Depression or, the Licht House is, ‘The Guest House’. Embrace the suck….
October 19th, 2026 at 10:58 am
It’s Mayfield’s fault. He wasn’t holding the clipboard correctly and his baseball hat fit poorly. Moreover, he went out of the way to sabotage Jalon Daniels yesterday. Clearly, Melvin Jr and OneillBuc can coach up Daniels to his full potential where he will easily surpass Mayfield’s second best NFL leading TD passes in his prior 3 years as a Buc.
Actually this website provides a great platform for some of the most stupid people in the universe to pretend they know anything remotely accurate about playing QB in the NFL. I again urge the Joes to install a competency requirement to post here. Typing “ Mayfield sucks” is indicative of the intellectual capacity of most who post here. In another week we will be treated to “Daniels sucks.”
October 19th, 2026 at 11:00 am
Please bring back the name “DEN OF DEPRESSION” time to change the bulbs on the “Licht” house..
October 19th, 2026 at 11:05 am
This scu*bag talking abiout “player safety”. Really? If he had not faked a covid slip he might have some room to talk. Wow!
Go Bucs!
October 19th, 2026 at 11:13 am
Its natural grass… how can natural grass be the worst turf?
October 19th, 2026 at 11:15 am
He’s the biggest wainer in the NFL. Glad to hear it’s his last year in the NFL. Not sure we’ll won’t be hearing him complaining again. If he becomes a commenter his big mouth will keep away alot of viewers from watching him
October 19th, 2026 at 11:16 am
GIPPER!
I couldn’t have said it any better!
RIGHT ON!!
October 19th, 2026 at 11:23 am
Here’s some fun background for you:
Joe has written tens of thousands of stories over the years. There hasn’t been one subject, one story, that consistently enraged power brokers at One Buc Palace more than calling the stadium “Den of Depression.” It isn’t even close. Joe’s not joking.
Three days after the Bucs won the Super Bowl — three freaking days! — Joe got the nastiest text full of profanities from a very, very, very high-ranking Bucs suit thinking Joe referred to the stadium again as “Den of Depression.” The nastiest email Joe ever received from anyone connected with the Bucs.
The slobber on the Lombardi Trophy wasn’t even dry yet and Joe swears if that suit was in the same building as Joe, he would have punched Joe. And Joe didn’t even write that!
All of the above is no exaggeration. Not even a little.
October 19th, 2026 at 11:39 am
Who gives a flying phck what the constant complaining man bun thinks. Not the Glazers who reap a big profit from USF.
October 19th, 2026 at 11:41 am
The turf gets low ratings league wide. It’s not just Rodgers.
October 19th, 2026 at 11:42 am
I second the motion to bring back Den of Depression.
October 19th, 2026 at 11:59 am
Bucs and them, the guest house is not bad. I’m thinking Airbnbucs…
October 19th, 2026 at 12:18 pm
Karon Rogers. I won’t miss him.
October 19th, 2026 at 1:19 pm
rodger’s really got his act together late in the game…
the fist half to first 3 quarters, he looked more like the rodgers who has often shown up at ray jay over the years…
when rodgers seemed like the “normal version of rodgers at ray jay”, i thought we had the game on lock…
like my mind was literally on cruise control…
then the 4th quarter came and all bucs fans received the ole okie doke
October 19th, 2026 at 1:32 pm
AR is a whiny Diva, but he’s not wrong about the condition of the field. For years the cheap/greedy owners have had USF games on the field the night before the Bucs take the same field. It has lead to injuries to Bucs players, including Mike Evans and others. It fits within the framework of the owners favoring profit above all else. The media doesn’t tslk about it much because they would probably have their access to players limited. It’s a thing. Fortunately USF is building its own stadium.
October 19th, 2026 at 2:12 pm
Turf probably does suck….All the rain…USF the night before…I would trust Aaron Rodgers knowledge on turf over some whining goober here in the comments
October 19th, 2026 at 2:31 pm
The season is over and they need to be sellers immediately. Just need to stumble through the rest of the season the same way they have (let Bowles at least lead us to a top 3 pick) and start over next year with a a boatload of picks, new GM, new HC and spend the next few years righting this ship.
I’ve been around since late 80’s and they are as hopeless and directionless as I’ve ever seen them !
October 19th, 2026 at 2:40 pm
In last years scorecard, the Bucs players gave the field an F. Yesterday, I saw MANY seams in the field. Yes the seams are dangerous but they don’t impact Rodgers more than anyone else. The Glazers need to get it fixed because Bucs players are impacted most via injuries.
October 19th, 2026 at 3:10 pm
Here a new name for you Joe.
The Manor of Malpractice!
October 19th, 2026 at 3:39 pm
joe:
new upgrade…
den of depression should now be update to:
DEN OF DOOM
🙂
am i right…?
