Streak continues.
The football gods are apparently angry with KitKat-eating Bucs coach Todd Bowles. Otherwise, this wouldn’t be so lopsided.
Joe has no idea what Bowles did to the AFC North over the years. But Joe sure knows what the AFC North has done to Bowles since he became head coach in 2022.
After yesterday’s debacle in Cincinnati, Bowles is now 0-7 against AFC North teams.
Joe is convinced it is the style of play. Bowles’ Bucs, at least recently, are simply not physical. His Bucs team often wilts against smashmouth clubs. Every team in the AFC North plays physical ball to some degree. Otherwise, they wouldn’t ever be able to hang with Pittsburgh or Baltimore.
The NFC South landfill is soft. Maybe the most physical team is the Bucs, or perhaps the slimy Saints. And the Bucs are not physical, even though they have a handful of physical players.
Bowles better fix this AFC North thing out quickly. The Bucs’ next opponent is Cleveland on Sunday. Guess what division the Browns play in?
If Bowles cannot master the Browns and the Bucs start the season 0-2, Joe cannot imagine the howling next week for Bowles’ head on a platter.

We’re as soft as our coaches midsection. Joe, Todd loses 50 percent of the games he coaches, doesn’t matter who it’s against. This team was not prepared to play today. Everyone got paid, fat, and happy like their coach. We wouldn’t have beat a team from any division yesterday.

It’s difficult to fumble 4 times in a nfl game and lose every one of them, but we found a way. Football gawds smiled down on those bengles today, and if we are going to lose it’s best to lose to an afc opponent. I thought bucs effort was intense. Except for number 3. He got rag dolled repeatedly. Over and again. Like deja-vu all over again and again. What’s up with that number 3?

How many times does the offense fumble the ball due to poor ball security. Offense got man handled by Bengals. Glad to see some Bucs performed ultimately better like Trotter. Way to go young man.

While there were things the defense did yesterday that I was very disappointed in – ONE SACK, NO PRESSURE – the defense did not lose the game.
You cannot cough up the ball 3 times and gift the opponent 21 points. It would be a miracle for any NFL team to overcome an obstacle as big as that.

I was impressed by Cincy’s OLine (and DLine) yesterday. Bain got a LOT of snaps it looked like, but didn’t appear to have any real impact on the game’s outcome. I wasn’t very impressed though with his ability to seal the edge (several runs to his side made decent yardage as I remember).
I still don’t understand what happened to the DLine interior yesterday. I really expected Vea & Robinson to get much better penetration than they did. Focused on Vea on several plays, and it looked to me like he was ‘going at it’ in slow-motion each time. Maybe he’s just not in game-condition, but danged, he’s supposed to be the kingpin of our DLine. You make the big bucks, now earn it.
Our run defense BTW didn’t perform much better yesterday than it did last season. In 2025 they gave up 4.3 YPC on the season. Yesterday they gave up 106 yds rushing on 27 carries … 3.9 YPC … but thee were a handful of runs in there of 10 yds or more. Those are the ones that drive me nuts because they’re preventable.

There isn’t an NFL team you can beat with 4 turnovers (come on Mayfield) but there are several concerns. The middle of the field was vacant on defense. This has been an ongoing issue. On offense ball control only works if it’s mistake free. Fans including myself have been making excuses for Wirfs going back to last year, but he’s not playing great football even though he’s being paid like a superstar. There was too much hype about a healthy line because they were barely average yesterday. The hype with the D line by Bowles himself was extremely disappointing. Bottom line is every player the Organization took care of played like crap. Unacceptable!

The bucs should beat an awful Browns team. It’s one of their 6 wins they will get all year. If they lose to the browns I will personally drive to one buc place and help bowles pack his bags prior to week 3.

Defense may have not lost this game but it didnt look much different then it did last season. All that supposed attitude injection didn’t do anything to stop tightends from looking like allpros.

We haven’t beaten the Bengals in 4 tries since our last win against them in 2010. Carson Palmer was their QB and he was throwing the ball to Ocho Cinco & Terrell Owens lol

I’d love nothing more than to publicly eat crow at the end of the season because the Bucs win the division and a playoff game or more because of how awesome toilet bowls is. I just don’t see it happening. We’ll win some games. We might even beat a few good teams along the way. I am just sure he’ll screw it up along the way. His head coaching record is what it is. Mediocre at best. Not good enough. He should’ve been fired years ago. I’ve given up expecting him to be fired. Ever.

Everyone is so quick to blame baker. Hes going to make mistakes. He did lose the ball, but how many times did the defense help him by making a stop? 0, they hleped out 0. So basically, according to that logic, is the bowles doesnt have to do his job, the defense doesnt have to hold them, the o-line can fall flat… but Baker, Baker has to be spot on perfect! That was NOT a team effort, that games was only close BECAUSE of baker. The defense made one play in 70 minutes. Bowles is 100% the problem, he never earned that job. Hes a DEI coach. He couldnt beat a high school team with that aweful scheme he runs.

Can’t blame yesterdays lost on Bowles. Those fumbles hurt and that’s on the players. Missed tackles by Anzalone, Vita not showing up. Now if I had one complaint for Bowles it’s the soft zones. I thought the O line was decent. Baker caused his own demise with happy feet and holding on to the ball. That was a winnable game.

Todd Bowles is a nice guy….. That’s pretty much all you can say these days without talking about football. Captain Anzalone looked like a fool out there, and there was zero pass rush from anyone. The Bengals are notorious for having a horrible O-line, yet they manhandled our D-line. Hold onto the ball 165M dollar man. It’s not looking good for our two so-called “Gurus”. Trotter played well. Go Bucs!

Its not an AFC North thing, its a Bowles can’t coach at the level required to win thing. Bowles wants to be hands off and puts everything on the players to be prepared and execute. Its his freakin job to make sure everyone is ready to execute. This was not just players making bad decisions out on the field. This team as a whole had their heads up their arses! By all rights, if Bowles and the team did their jobs its a win. I hope this is their collective wake up call, because this looks like a continuation of last season. I’m sticking to another predictable .500, or worse, season for this team with Bowles being fired immediately after the final game of the season.

Still nobody blamed baker the defense wasn’t the best but they are not the reason we lost all bakers fault
