The super high quality WFLA broadcast strikes again.

  5. unbelievable Says:

The ESPN app is only playing the Chiefs broadcast. Ugh! It’s terrible.

    Bunch of BS

  6. KFlick Says:

Looked like yaya was in mid season form on the first drive. So close to a sack but no cigar lol

  7. Bucs 95 Says:

Give the offense atleast one more drive

    ———-

Probably better than the WFLA production. Ronde and Gruden are fine, but whatever scrubs they have producing these games are terrible, they never show replays, will cut away at the wrong moments, etc.

Also it sure seems like Ronde is doing play by play – when I had heard Gruden was going to do it. Sounds a bit off – but it’s OK.

  9. firethecannons Says:

    so was that an error?
    sounded crazy

  10. Simple T Says:

Munch in mid season form 🤡

  11. Kenton Smith Says:

Hurst got handsy with DeLane(Chiefs first round corner) and smacked him in the side of the head. Really dumb. He owes us a big play. Come on Ted!

  12. Mike Evans Ghost Says:

Why is 4th string LT playing?

  13. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

So, if our special trams is soooo rotten, why are we kicking it into the endzone on the opening kickoff? Would love to see what our KO coverage looks like. Holding on our punt?….LMAO!

  14. Ash Says:

Slam the gas what was that set of play calls oh my goodness

  15. 3rd and 28 in the Canoe Says:

Hurst and the defender were tugging on each other after the play. Hurst slapped his helmet. It was an obvious penalty. Someone should chew his a**.

  16. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

    Holding on KC…sorry

  17. Red Skeleton Says:

Looks like Barber is the ay by play guy. He’s done 80% of the talking. Gruden is chiming in like a color commentator.

  18. Jmarkbuc Says:

Yeah the commentary from the booth so far is a muddled mess. Neither one really doing play by play.

    But whatever.. preseason.

  19. Winny Testaverde Says:

Do I just see Bain drop into coverage? Oof.

    Munch in mid season form

    ——–

    Never an offseason for me.

  21. 3rd and 28 in the Canoe Says:

Bain looked great on the 3rd down play.

  22. Bucs 95 Says:

    Defense looks elite

  23. Inwoodjeremy Says:

Who is playing in Vita spot is that Anthony Nelson?

  24. Coltol Says:

Can’t watch, are they going to concede the 35 on every kickoff like they did last year. Playing scared, fix the special teams and challenge the opponent on kickoffs

  25. El Hefe Bucc Says:

    What everyone watching it on

  26. Winny Testaverde Says:

Bain actually allowed to rush…scared Fields into an incompletion.

  27. 3rd and 28 in the Canoe Says:

Watching on ESPN after fighting with it for 10 minutes.

  28. Jmac Says:

    Ruben Bain!!

  29. Bee Says:

Bain is looking good. Even Zion made a play.

  30. Bucs 95 Says:

Channel 2 on the antenna wesh

  31. Winny Testaverde Says:

It’s on an ESPN channel where I’m at ( NV ).

  32. Ash Says:

    Bain looking good in coverage

  33. Bee Says:

Yall really need a Superbox, it has every broadcast across the country plus overseas channels as well.

  34. Inwoodjeremy Says:

    This offense is kinda weak

  35. Rod Munch Says:

Wow, four passes from Baker, average depth of target is negative 3 yards per attempt.

  36. Bee Says:

    Dirt ball

  37. 80sBucsfan Says:

Offense looks awful TBH…that sideways crap is outdated. College BS.

  38. BucsFan81 Says:

Offense looks like hot garbage. Hopefully it’s better when they actually game plan.

  39. Ke Says:

    Screen pass !!! Screen pass!!

  40. Bee Says:

The offense sounded like it was opened up more during practice

  41. Bucs 95 Says:

    Trash playcalling 🥱

  42. Winny Testaverde Says:

Bucky looked good…pass play calling looking vanilla, semi-scared screens.

  43. Ash Says:

Is grizzard still calling the plays wtf is this

  44. chad Says:

    playcalling is crap

  45. BucVoyager Says:

We are not showing very much during this game so relax

  46. Rod Munch Says:

Four runs in a row to open the game. Not a single pass attempt beyond the line of scrimmage. Clearly the OC hates Baker. Now we know why the Bucs won’t give Baker a new deal.

  47. Ufcguy Says:

Absolutely garbage. Why even bring out Mayfield if this is what ur gonna do. Not impressed

  48. Bee Says:

    Bucsfan81

What makes you think they didn’t gameplan?

  49. Jmarkbuc Says:

Oof. That ain’t no $50M QB.

  50. Bucs4ya Says:

Put in the 2nd team if this is how you gonna call the plays on offense.

  51. unbelievable Says:

It switched to the Bucs broadcast after the last commercial. Weird

  52. chad Says:

rod munch you gonna crap on baker all game? play calling is the problem

  53. Ufcguy Says:

Like what are you trying to show lol that you suck?

  54. 80sBucsfan Says:

    Cincinnati ready!

  55. Bee Says:

Isn’t Baker allowed to change the play at the line? Maybe he should pull a Willie Beamen and call his own plays

  56. Inwoodjeremy Says:

Iss not worth 50 mil a year so far anyway. That could change but I don’t think he will be in the game much longer.

  57. Rastafarian-Jenkins Says:

Easy fellas. We dont want Baker getting smoked with some German 3rd string left tackle starting and our 4-6-7 wide receivers. I wouldn’t have even played him tonight

  58. chad Says:

problem with this game is i have to see rod munch spew baker hate, when he hasn’t even done anything wrong in the game yet

  59. Kgh4life Says:

I know its preseason but man, so many screen passes.

  60. Bucs4ya Says:

    This offense looks awful

  61. Rod Munch Says:

    Jmarkbuc Says:

Oof. That ain’t no $50M QB.

    ——-

    $55M.

  62. Bee Says:

I watched Josh Johnson play for the Bengals today. He’s still going strong

  63. Josh Says:

Baker is not worth $55 million. Yeah, I said it. He needs to be WAY, WAY better. The play-calling has been crap too, but that’s no excuse. He can audible, and if he can’t, then he’s not even worth what he’s currently being paid……

  64. Inwoodjeremy Says:

It is preseason so there not going to put much tape out there for everyone to see.

  65. Jorge Says:

I know it’s Pre Season but show some decent plays to get fans excited Mayfield with the
    short scrappy passes…come on.
The Defense looked fast and looked excited.
Offense bla so far w the starters

  66. Let em bake Says:

3rd string left tackle. Not gonna get caught with a 5 step drop, baker smashed. Getting ball out quickly by design.

  67. Ash Says:

What are you guys talking about it’s just screens lol they shouldn’t have even played the starters if that’s how they were going to do it

  68. Rod Munch Says:

    chad Says:

rod munch you gonna crap on baker all game? play calling is the problem

    ——–

Don’t be a Chad, I’m just joking around. I started the thread by pointing out Baker had a 100% completion rate in the preseason.

  69. MikeBuc Says:

“problem with this game is i have to see rod munch spew baker hate,”

well you don’t need to read the kiddies though its gasser them crying about play calling in a preseason game

  70. Bee Says:

Playcalling has nothing to do with throwing dirt balls and getting balls batted at the line, just like what we’ve seen for the past 3 years. But its early so…

  71. Bee Says:

I wanna see more of Daniels. Hopefully Balls won’t come in until never

  72. Oldbucsfan Says:

You can tell 2nd string d is out there

  73. Winny Testaverde Says:

Bowles appears to have added whipped cream to his Kit Kat habit.

  74. Ash Says:

Play calling has everything to do with it because the defense are sitting on the screens

  75. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

3 & out running the vanilla stuff?

    ¿Como?

  76. Ash Says:

At least the defense looks good.

  77. Rod Munch Says:

That’s all we see from Baker for the preseason. Literally not a single pass beyond the line of scrimmage – and Baker still only hit half of them. Not a good start. Clearly the Bucs saw this in camp, which is why they stop negotiating with Baker.

  78. chad Says:

    defense looks awesome so far

  79. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Good play don’t hinge on the play call, you either execute or you don’t

  80. litaljohn Says:

i mean it sort of makes some sense to intentionally go with vanilla to terrible plays, find a player that can turn a huge nothing into something , it just doesnt look good when no one steps up. honestly id be down with calling the same play in a row and see who will win their matchup when they know exactly what you are going to do.

  81. firethecannons Says:

Kind of agree with Rod Tag Baker next season and were out after that

  82. MikeBuc Says:

Clearly the Bucs saw this in camp, which is why they stop negotiating with Baker.”

they are right . You are in full season form. pure silly

  83. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

    Look at Nelly

  84. Bee Says:

    Nice strip!

  85. Winny Testaverde Says:

Weird to hear Gruden commentate/play by play the Bucs. Quite the ride with this team going on 25 years!

  86. Rod Munch Says:

Kind of agree with Rod Tag Baker next season and were out after that

    ——

Well if Baker plays well enough be tagged, then I’d give him a big extension. But well enough to me, means winning in prime-time and in the playoffs. I hope he gets it done, since it means the Bucs are winning games that matter.

  87. Bucs 95 Says:

Justin fields will never be a starter again in the NFL

  88. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Need Kam to take one to the paint one time

  89. bucsfaninva Says:

Listening on Sirius up in VA… the new guy makes me actually miss Mean Gene…*sigh*.

Wishing I could hear Gruden… how’s he doing?

  90. 80sBucsfan Says:

If you are that worried about the LT then Baker shouldn’t play at all. Seriously…if you have to alter your game plan that much…what are we doing here? SMDH

  91. rrsrq Says:

    Defensive battle

  92. chad Says:

baker has had a very good camp so you can’t say retarded stuff like that

  93. Bee Says:

You know you’re getting old when all your favorite coaches and players are commentators

  94. Ufcguy Says:

    Disgusting. Mayfield zero damn passes

  95. Bee Says:

Gruden is doing color commentary. Nothing to write home about but not terrible

  96. Winny Testaverde Says:

Gruden & Ronde doing just fine…good chemistry due to history together.

  97. rrsrq Says:

    Love how Gruden say “we”

  98. Rod Munch Says:

Wow, Browning with no pocket awareness at all.

  99. Let em bake Says:

You practice what the skill set allows…

  100. Bucs 95 Says:

    Browning lol

  101. PSLBucfan Says:

    2nd string online=awful

  102. Rod Munch Says:

    Daniels 91.7 passer rating
    Mayfield 56.2 passer rating

Now we know why the Bucs stop negotiating with Baker, clearly they’re all in on Daniels.

  103. Bucs 95 Says:

Well guess we know who QB2 is 😏

  104. Bee Says:

    2 plays and done….

  105. BucsFan81 Says:

I said it last week Daniels is better than browning. I saw enough Bengals games to know browning sucks.

  106. rrsrq Says:

That’s not good for Brownings back

  107. Ash Says:

    Send browning packing

  108. Rastafarian-Jenkins Says:

Where is Skule and Chukwuma? Who are these turnstile tackles we got out there. Goofy statue losers, gonna get our QBs injured

  109. chad Says:

weird seems like baker isn’t the only one that can’t make something happen everytime the line doesn’t block and the defense gets through like it’s nothing

  110. Stpetematt Says:

I can’t watch the game because the network feed isn’t working on Frontier. Sucks! Sounds like there’s not much to see anyway…what did Bain do?

  111. Jorge Says:

    So far pathetic

  112. Bee Says:

They should make the kid QB2 since QB2 won’t start anyway

  113. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

    Yikes!

  114. Bee Says:

Bain had a few pressures. Looked really good

  115. Rod Munch Says:

Guys, you can watch the game for free on the Bucs official website – not trickery needed.

  116. Ke Says:

Glad they switched over to Tampa broadcast. Those other guys were terrible. Zzz

  117. CosmoKramer Says:

Looks like a classic Bowles lead team. Pathetic at best.

4-13 may have been an overreach. I better recalculate.

2-15, if we’re lucky. Someone might have to gift wrap a few wins.

First overall pick in the draft coming up!!! 🤡🤡🤡

  118. Oldbucsfan Says:

Our defense finally showed up hahaha

  119. HeartyDickerson Says:

Literally 4 wide open receivers on that last play

  120. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

Justin Field sucks…unless he is playing against a Todd Bowles defense, regardless of 1st or 2nd string

  121. Bee Says:

Bucky weighs 198 lbs now btw

It’s 2005 all over again. I thought the Om line would be better this year

  123. Jarrett Says:

    Seriously

wtf was that Baker led draft

I’m concerned our new offensive coordinator doesn’t know what he’s doing

    Bunch of screen passes …
    wtf was that

  124. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Jayson Jones looks like a circus bear in football pads, holy hell is he huge

  125. Rod Munch Says:

Interesting to hear Gruden get more into a rhythm – he’s starting to sound more like how he did on ESPN after a bit of a slow start. Not sure when the last time he did a game was.

  126. 80sBucsfan Says:

    Walker…what are you doing…bro…

  127. Bee Says:

    WBL

Let’s hope he gets a fumble recovery so we can hear BIG MAN WITH FOOTBALL

  128. Mr. Barf Says:

3rd and 10 and we give it up again..SOS

  129. chad Says:

defense looks to be in mid season form, well all season form haha

  130. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Can’t remember who it was Í was talking to on here about Fordham, but good eye, Í like this kid

Justin Field sucks…unless he is playing against a Todd Bowles defense

    ———-

    That’s literally not true.

Go watch Bears at Tampa in 2021 in particular, and the Bucs beat them again in 2023.

  134. Obvious One Says:

    Soft zone world.
    Bowles plans are just weak

They are walking down the field without real resistance. I’m sick of the same weak defensive planning

And when bozo lets them PLAY BALL RHE PASS RUSH SCORES!

  135. Obvious One Says:

    Boy are we lucky!

  136. Bee Says:

    Nice!!!

  137. Stpetematt Says:

What was that- like a 40 yard sack lol!

  138. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“Let’s hope he gets a fumble recovery so we can hear BIG MAN WITH FOOTBALL“

Scoop and score so we can see him dance lol

  139. MelvinJunior Says:

It’s the COEN “Kentucky Offense,” that I warned everyone about. I call ‘em BLIND-screens. HORRIBLE. It doesn’t work anymore (especially early, right outta the gate). It’s HIGH SCHOOL SH!T. These guys are too good and too disciplined at THIS level… They’ve been seeing-it SINCE HS, and they’re READY FOR IT. They can sniff-it out and see-it coming from a mile-away.

  140. Bee Says:

Defense is still holding them to 3 pts so the offense gotta give them run support

  141. Obvious One Says:

Though McCollum from what I could tell on the first play came to Show how it was done

  142. Irishmist Says:

They took Walker out cuz he let Fields escape. If you keep him in the pocket he can’t do anything.

  143. Rod Munch Says:

Bucs on pace to pass for 23 yards for the game.

  144. Outrigger Says:

Why was Ben Chukmua not playing Left Tackle? If your going to start a 3rd stringer then your right, Baker shouldn’t be playing

  145. Bee Says:

    WBL

    YES!

  146. Rod Munch Says:

Williams does a good job reading his blockers – something Tucker stinks at.

Not so sure he’s going to take Tucker’s job, but wouldn’t shock me if we keep 4 RBs.

  147. Bee Says:

All these screens is definitely off the first page of the Grizz playbook

  148. Rod Munch Says:

2002-03 Bucs defense, in the playoffs, gave up a net of 1 point per game. Literally, 3 points over 3 games when you account for the defensive TDs they scored. Would have had another TD as well except vs the 49ers, Rice did a cheap shot on the opposite side of the field to take a Ronde pick six off the board.

  149. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Williams legit slowed down to lower his shoulder, you gotta follow through better than that bro

  150. Obvious One Says:

    Well, of course

  151. Obvious One Says:

That WAS a great play. For a second

  152. firethecannons Says:

    lotsa penalties

  153. Rod Munch Says:

    Passer rating update:

    Browning 94.2
    Daniels 91.7
    Mayfield 56.2

    Is Baker on thin ice?

  154. Ke Says:

    The Punter is so inconsistent

  155. Obvious One Says:

    @WBL

you got that right. What was he thinking? Defender was gonna jump on the ground for him…

  156. Rod Munch Says:

    firethecannons Says:
    August 22nd, 2026 at 8:34 pm
    lotsa penalties.

If the QB holds the ball for 10 mins, sooner or later someone is going to hold. Also no one was open when the hold occurred, so actually it was a good play, since otherwise the Chiefs get the ball at midfield.

  157. infomeplease Says:

Bucs defense looks better than offense. The O wasn’t putting anything on tape!!!

  158. Rod Munch Says:

Why is the radio guy in the TV booth? Shouldn’t he be on radio?

  159. Nick2 Says:

Prediction, Jaylon Daniel’s ends up number 2. Browning is hot washed up garbage!

  160. Rocket10 Says:

Rod based on your comments hard to believe you ever played competitive sports, doubt anyone would want you on their intramural or coed team either.

  161. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“All these screens is definitely off the first page of the Grizz playbook“

Coen, that’s the biggest difference in comparison to Canales or Grizzard. Coen had no shame using the screen game to set up his zone runs and eventually countering run blitzes with the gap stuff.

Rachaad put up some of the best recieving numbers in his career that year, though he always finished with more YAC than actual yards gained because he was catching passes behind the LOS.

Schematically, it forced box defenders to think they’d have to defend us laterally, then we just shoot gap stuff while they’re still trying to counter the screens and zones and we got chunk runs.

  162. Jorge Says:

BOORING…They look so unorganized and clumsy…pre season or not, you
need to have something positive. Defense is way ahead

  163. Obvious One Says:

And we’re always available for ten plus yards. Why run it on us when it’s JUST TOO EASY to just play catch?

  164. Bucs 95 Says:

How old is this guy ?

  165. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“Rod based on your comments hard to believe you ever played competitive sports, doubt anyone would want you on their intramural or coed team either.“

The way most people on here talk about coaching you can tell they didn’t play any team sports or listen in school

    Why do you hate women?

  167. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

We got Javin Wright gettin reps? Nice, amazing story he has

  168. LakelandSteve Says:

So far our offense looks like a hot mess. We are starting the 4’th string offensive tackle? I know Wirfs is injured but what happened to the other two guys? I about vomited when I saw Rueben Bain drop into coverage on a third and obvious pass down. Good to know our defensive genius is still doing “genius” stuff.

    ———-

I read the other day that White has, by far, the highest catch percentage of any RB in NFL history at over 91%.

He was also a great blocker, and a good runner.

He must have hated Baker as much as Evans did to leave town like that.

  170. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Kamara & Walker? Yea Braswell is outta here

  171. Rod Munch Says:

Wow, a suplex tackle and the refs weren’t a bunch of cupcakes and didn’t throw a flag.

  172. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

But did he give up the reception? If not it’s a break even rep

  173. OLDSCHOOL1976 Says:

David Walker touched a qb. Can’t wait for the 6 stories on great he played against 3rd string o line.

  174. Obvious One Says:

    @Infomeplease

I agree. Not sold on this OC what so ever. Not so far anyways

And btw…. that defense WAS nice at the begining of the game. The secondary disappeared QUICKY since then. They are Literally walking us down the field. NO PROBLEM… When boz let the rushers, rush the passer we got results. We’re very busy out there covering in the meantime. WHICH ISN’T WORKING! They are simply playing pitch and catch against us. No noticeable challenge from us to stop the ball through the air.

  175. Winny Testaverde Says:

Blaming White’s departure because he hated Baker? Save your unproven gossip for your hair salon, Hot Rod Mulch.

White had less interest in the open market than he and many believed he would.

    NICE!

  177. Obvious One Says:

“Blaming White’s departure because he hated Baker?“

    ———–

LOL! Baker Boi(s) are so easy to trigger.

He left because he wanted to play with Jayden Daniels – who White said just the other day is the best QB he’s ever played with.

I legit have no idea what White’s fascination is with Daniels, but he’s been saying for years that he wanted to play with him as they played one season together in college I think. I have no idea what the deal is, if White is in love with him or something, but it’s borderline uncomfortable to hear White when he talks about Daniels.

Walker on takeover mode that last drive. Must’ve been 4 pressures on one drive, what a player!

  184. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“White had less interest in the open market than he and many believed he would.“

RBs been a devalued position for a long time now, trying to determine an RBs worth off what he got off the market when we spent more money than he’s making to replace him is not a flex.

  185. Winny Testaverde Says:

WBL clearly a golden girl client of Hot Rod. I’m pretty relaxed…it’s pre-season.

  186. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“I legit have no idea what White’s fascination is with Daniels“

They played at Arizona State together if I’m not mistaken

  187. Rod Munch Says:

Wow, so Tucker is now in the game… so Williams has passed him on the depth chart? Interesting.

  188. Rod Munch Says:

So did Tucker completely blow the block there?

  189. Rod Munch Says:

Nevermind, was a 2-man blitz, so Tucker not to blame.

  190. HopeIn1Hand… Says:

I’m feeling real, astonishing excitement about the Bucs’ depth at LB. Inside and outside.

Trotter isn’t the only rookie LB in camp with an NFL pedigree. Caden Fordham’s dad was a journeyman NFL LT. He looks to be continuing his Ist team All-ACC level of play. Dennis and Bullock are on notice. It’s a shame they took him out already.

  191. Lightningvinny1 Says:

You don’t call any real plays in preseason and you keep your franchise QB safe,,, Robinson knows what he’s doing!

  192. Winny Testaverde Says:

    Gruden having Tuck Rule flashbacks!

  193. Ke Says:

  195. Obvious One Says:

    Let’s hope your right

  196. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Winny, he took a comment about Rachaad White and made it about Baker, and you bit the cheese my friend.

There’s Bucs football, you take a shot of anything every time Rod says something to stir sh*t, you’ll drown.

If you put a dollar aside every time he says “soft zone” you’ll have nice nest egg by week 6 🤣

  197. Rod Munch Says:

    Kick the 67 yard FG.

  198. Bee Says:

    This offense is…something….

  199. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Browning sucks.

  200. Rod Munch Says:

Browning doing his best Baker impression, folding under pressure and throwing incomplete when it matters most… Sad.

Baker was in two series and it’s time to bench him? You clowns are hilarious

  202. Ke Says:

    Oline is terrible

  203. Rod Munch Says:

This is why I should be the coach.

  204. Obvious One Says:

    Wbl

Come on man. You know well that That’s bowles mo. He INSISTS on it. He actually HAS a different choice he Could Make you know. But he WON’T….

  205. Bucs 95 Says:

    Is that the record? 69

  206. Winny Testaverde Says:

Fair enough, WBL…you clearly have diagnosed his limited playbook.

Personally I was sorry to see White go. He played a key role. Only to see Licht sign a Bucky clone…Gainwell…for a decent amount of money for a RB to your earlier point .

  207. Obvious One Says:

    Now THAT WAS a kick!

  208. HopeIn1Hand… Says:

And Mo Kamara definitely looking like the productive force he was in Boulder. And Nelson just gets better with age.. I’m still waiting for this legendary David Walker we hear so much about to make an appearance…

  209. Ke Says:

Chiefs letting their kicker do what the Bucs should’ve done

  210. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    That was amazing.

  211. Obvious One Says:

  212. Bee Says:

  213. Rob5 Says:

This offense looks like dog poop…

  214. Will Says:

This Browning is the backup?😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳 he stinks. Let Jalen play now.

  215. Rod Munch Says:

Me and Reid, we’re the same, we’re winners, we kick the FG there rather than trying to get an extra 5 yards on 4th down to only then kick a FG…

  216. BoriMex 813 Says:

Can somebody please explain to me why Jake Browning is still getting meaningful reps over JD? 😂 Seriously, what are we evaluating here?

JD is younger, more athletic, brings actual JUICE to the offense, can extend plays with his legs, and isn’t a sitting duck when the pocket collapses.

Browning drops back and I’m checking to see if his cleats were poured into the concrete. 😂

We KNOW what Browning is. What exactly is the upside? Meanwhile, JD gives you mobility, athleticism and another dimension defenses actually have to account for.

If we’re evaluating who gives this team the better option behind Baker, then LET JD COOK.

Enough with the Browning mystery tour. I’m demanding answers. 😂🏴‍☠️

  217. Ke Says:

If CBs weren’t 10 yards off receivers Davis Walker would have a couple of sacks. If he was in with starters it would be a different story

  225. Bee Says:

I know its pre-season but the starting QB went 2/4 for 10 yds. That ain’t good. Daniels went 1/1 for 6 yds so let’s see what he’ll do in the 2nd half. Bucky looked good and Kamara looks like a beast.

  226. OurYear Says:

    1st half analysis
Local broadcast sux – production crew has the camera on the QBs face all the way up until the ball is snapped.
Rondé and Gruden – got better as it went on
David Walker – pass rush fine, better learn to play the run
Opening few series on offense running the ball looked good and well blocked
Staring defense looks quick and aggressive . We will be ok.

  227. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Danials is a fun camp story, but he’s not good either. And he’s even shorter than Baker.

  228. Captain Butt Sweat Says:

Daniels is gonna get the game to at least 10 or 14 -9… ball sack and brown stain can kick rocks

I mean there’s no way in the world that Ballsack should have started last week, but if Daniels goes out, has a good game vs the Jets starters, then he’s on every teams radar.

This week, if Daniels lights it up again, even vs backups, he’s going to draw attention.

Pretty clear to me that the Bucs want to keep him, but hope to not have to use a roster spot – for now, anyways.

  273. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

They should give Hurst some burn with Daniels in the game

  274. Obvious One Says:

That actually makes sense. We don’t want Boz …. I mean bowls to lose his job to a better coach already on the team… Bowles WILL NEVER make another Coen mistake EVER AGAIN! No way he doesn’t sabotage the chances… And Robinson IS the Falcons throw away…. Just something to ponder..

  275. Lightningvinny1 Says:

  290. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Daniels has looked good, he’s got his rough edges but I’m thinking so far the difference for him so far is the pro game allows what he does well to shine a little brighter than it did with any of the teams he played with as a Jayhawk.

Gotta give some credit to Robinson and the staff working with him.

  291. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

I want to see a go ball to Rivers before this is all said and done. That kid has some wheels

  292. Will Says:

  293. HeartyDickerson Says:

I’m willing to bet money Todd will refuse to read the room and cut Daniels, because Browning is the ‘safe, experienced’ backup QB option.

Daniels will get poached by an aggressive, forward-thinking HC and have a great career.

  294. Bee Says:

All Daniels needs is game experience. Hes rough but hes got talent. Hopefully he’ll start next week so we can see him get in rhythm early

  295. Mr. Barf Says:

Bad energy from Baker at the start..now love the Daniel’s energy at QB.

  296. Obvious One Says:

You see, THAT’S what’s been missing from this team. Movement and EXCITEMENT! Some just Don’t inspire and weve had WAY TOO MUCH OF DRAB AND BORING AROUND HERE!

  297. infomeplease Says:

I love this kid!! He should be #2. No messing around!!!

  298. CosmoKramer Says:

    Baker is a complete bust.

  299. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“10 looks like Shaun King vs the St Louis Rams out there on MNF!“

    Bert Emanuel caught that ball

  300. Nick2 Says:

Browning has no arm and holds onto the ball way too long. Daniel’s is obviously the 2nd most talented QB we have.

  301. Winny Testaverde Says:

Bucs have to go with only 2 QBs. If a disaster happens…they can pull a fossil off the couch/outta retirement like the Colts did with Rivers and teams have with Flacco. That Connor kid and Browning could never win a game in the NFL. Browning may have won one 5 years ago on the Bungles.

  302. Obvious One Says:

    Geez
    Baker sounds sad

  303. BoriMex 813 Says:

    Juuuuice Daniels 🔥

  304. Rod Munch Says:

The scouting profile on Daniels said he was very inconsistent in college – he’d look like a high draft pick some of the time, then make some really bad decisions. That’s the reason he wasn’t drafted.

In practices, that’s sort of what I heard as well, in that he’d have a couple of good practices, then start making a bunch of bad plays.

So it would be really risky to make him the backup at this point. Then again, he’s certainly better than Bridgewater was last year. But I still assume they try sneaking him onto the practice squad while they get him more snaps in practice.

  305. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

The reaction over Daniels, and you got guys on here slighting the small chance we could got get a rookie QB to compete as a future option and here we are fawning over a UDFA QB lol

  306. 3rd and 28 in the Canoe Says:

I pray that Bowles doesn’t screw up the Daniel’s decision.

  307. Bee Says:

    ——–

    Burt did.

But I was talking about that awesome shootout in Tampa on MNF in 2000. Was probably King’s best game with the Bucs. I was at that game, and it was the loudest Bucs crowd I’ve ever heard – that was an incredibly fun game.

  310. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“The scouting profile on Daniels said he was very inconsistent in college – he’d look like a high draft pick some of the time, then make some really bad decisions. That’s the reason he wasn’t drafted.”

He’s the type of QB that doesn’t see a window he doesn’t like, even if the windows closed. That’s freightening at times to be 100% honest, at least to me. Confidence is one thing, but it doesn’t make up for sound decision make or rather the lack thereof.

  311. Obvious One Says:

  321. Obvious One Says:

  322. Rod Munch Says:

I still think the Bucs just try to sneak Daniels onto the PS, but if it’s clear he’s outplaying Browning, well the Bucs only gave him a $400k guarantee, which isn’t enough to save his roster spot.

And, to be clear, I have no issues with making Daniels the backup – but it is risky if he’s up and down in practice. But Browning hasn’t shown anything in practice from what I’ve read.

  323. Bee Says:

He made an 80 yarder and missed a 40 yarder

  324. Obvious One Says:

Besides, didn’t anybody tell him how HOT the sun burns around here? Crash and burn.

Then again, he’s literally been kicking the crap out of us!

  325. BoriMex 813 Says:

    @Rod Munch

Im sorry, but this is hilarious. 😂

So we’re digging up Jalon Daniels’ college scouting report to explain why we shouldn’t trust him…

Have you tried reading JAKE BROWNING’S? 🤣🤣🤣

    “Subpar arm strength.”

    “Slow processing.”

    “Poor decision-making at times.”

    “Regressed his final two seasons.”

    Projected UNDRAFTED.

    And guess what happened?

    HE WENT UNDRAFTED. 😂

So apparently Daniels’ college flaws are permanent disqualifiers, but Browning’s college flaws came with an expiration date?

Better yet, Bowles himself says Daniels has the arm strength, can make unconventional throws and “when he gets in trouble he can get himself out of trouble.”

THAT is exactly what I want to see more of.

Nobody is claiming Daniels is a finished product. He’s a rookie. The whole point is that there’s something there worth developing.

If we’re going to gamble on an undrafted QB, give me the younger, athletic one with the live arm and upside, not the veteran whose own scouting report needed a warning label. You brought college tape to a knife fight, Rod. Unfortunately, Browning has tape too. BAG BROWNING IMMEDIATELY PLEASE!

    🔥 LFG!

  326. Winny Testaverde Says:

Most kickers have a big leg these days…especially since they get to “Doctor” their own balls like before. It’s the accuracy ( obviously ). McLaughlin bounced around the league before finding a home in Tampa.

  327. Obvious One Says:

    @Buc 95

Are you “sure” she’s stll hot??

  328. Bee Says:

    Rod

Daniels is the best backup by far. I’d rather see the young guy versus the old immobile guy. Besides, the backup qb won’t play. Baker will start even if he has one arm in a sling so QB2 doesn’t matter much.

  329. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

    BEE

I’m just saying, I’m almost to the point of standing on the statement that “I like Jalon Daniels” which is a weird realization for me lol

But nah in all seriousness, he’s looked good. Heavens forbid we can maintain some offensive continuity on the staff between now and then so Daniels can build himself up even better for year 2.

Also, in any scenario Robinson isn’t here next season he can leave Chandler Whitmer here, I’d bet he’s got alot to do with this considering he just came from the college ranks. Likely some familiarity with Daniels as a player, and these coaches have egos like no other, so I imagine if they ever crossed paths he’s had a “I’d use him like x-y-z”. Coaches think they can fix everybody

  330. Rod Munch Says:

BoriMex – Browning has actually started NFL games, and won some games. He had a higher QBR than Baker did in 2023.

With that said, I’m pointing out why the team might hesitate on making Daniels the backup. I have no issues with it – but I think the Bucs would rather see Daniels more in practice, let him learn the offense more, get him more snaps, before committing.

Daniels is the best backup by far. I’d rather see the young guy versus the old immobile guy. Besides, the backup qb won’t play. Baker will start even if he has one arm in a sling so QB2 doesn’t matter much.

    ———–

I don’t disagree with that. I’m just pointing out what the Bucs might be thinking. At this point, based off what I’ve seen, and read about practices, I’d likely keep Daniels over Browning if it comes down to having to make a choice. But I’d like to see more – and obviously in practice the team is seeing more.

  334. BoriMex 813 Says:

    @Rod

Fair enough. 👍 And I actually appreciate the clarification.

I get your point. You’re not saying Daniels CAN’T be the backup; you’re explaining why the Bucs may want to slow-play it and give him more time learning the offense and getting practice reps.

    That’s completely reasonable.

    🔥 LFG!

  335. Winny Testaverde Says:

Gruden may have been thinking about the 2024 game at the Saints. Admittedly time is flying by for us old heads!

  336. Rod Munch Says:

Most interesting thing right now is that Tucker is playing in the 4th quarter of the game. He must have lost his spot to Williams.

  337. LouisFriend Says:

That time of the game where you won’t remember 95% of the players on the field 6 weeks from now.

  338. firethecannons Says:

wtf is going on I cant see sht

  339. Rod Munch Says:

    Passer rating update:

    Daniels 105.0
    Browning 93.8
    Mayfield 56.2

Is Baker going to make the team? Is this why the Bucs have refused further negotiations with him?

  340. Winny Testaverde Says:

How does Gruden really feel about the shot gun formation?

  341. Bee Says:

    WBL

Stand on it! And I agree good coaching continuity has been an issue but he seems to be a smart player. Just drew the Cheifs offsides. But he needs game reps and those will be hard to come by with Bake here. To your point the QB coach has done a great job. He throws too many jump balls for my liking but hes young…

Hopefully he’ll start next week with Brown as backup.

  342. Kenton Smith Says:

I’m thinking if the defense can stop them, we’re gonna score. That’s 4 scoring drives for the kid, 3 of them for touchdowns. He’s better than Browning, for sure.

  343. Rod Munch Says:

Bucs can save $2.3M on the cap by going with Williams over Tucker…

  344. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

    The USF kid!

  345. OurYear Says:

Daniels isn’t good. We are just comparing him to another guy , who isn’t good ( Browning), and another guy who isnt good ( Ballsack). He’s not good. We still need to find QB2.
OL better get some real game work together. We shouldn’t be “ assuming” they are good and experiment during Week 1.

  346. Alldaway Says:

This offense needs more work and better depth.

  347. Rod Munch Says:

Tucker might have enough name value to maybe get a 7th rounder in a trade, maybe even a conditional 6th.

  348. Lightningvinny1 Says:

That’s right Munch, Rookie QB sensation what a camp 45 of 61 for over 500 yards and an overly stunning 105 QB rating !!! What a pre season for this future NFL HOFer,,, that’s right the Bucs 2006 awesome rookie Bruce Gradkowski! And I hope the kid works out but it’s a long shot

  349. Alldaway Says:

Williams doesn’t have the open field speed like Tucker. Tucker is the only decent short yardage back too.

  350. Jorge Says:

Zac,You have any good plays? No passes down field? Anything creative for pre season?
Let’s bore the fans and have them wonder if
you all have any energy or pride. So many other teams showed
great effort even in pre season. Why would we not??

  351. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“Bucs can save $2.3M on the cap by going with Williams over Tucker…“

Rod is letting the booga suga type

  352. Bee Says:

    There ya go!

  353. Winny Testaverde Says:

Fair point, Rod…Tucker’s contract is not guaranteed.

Browning should be banished to Winnipeg or Calgary

  356. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

    Score here

  358. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Gruden wishes he could coach Tucker, and run him into the ground

  359. Saskbucs Says:

Once again, not able to watch.

From what I read… I fear we aren’t just seeing Zac withholding the playbook. Surely there is a little bit of that but I don’t think this guy is gonna be much of an upgrade over Grizzard. I realize he had weak QB play but Falcons didn’t care for this guy.

If the offense, specifically the OL can stay healthy, hopefully the team can overcome questionable playcalling by moving people well.

  360. Bee Says:

    Nice drive.

  361. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

    @Sasbucs

We saw a few players swap out and immediately started generating points, it ain’t the calls it’s the players

  362. Lightningvinny1 Says:

Yes munch and threw for 4000 yards 21TDs and 25 INTs ,, and god bless him ,, he made money and now has a radio gig ,, But man we were excited about this 2006 6th round pick,, but alas , pre season is pre season

  363. Bee Says:

Still haven’t forgiven him for what he did to Caddy huh? Im right there with ya

  364. Will Says:

Boweles went for 2 and Daniel’s got sacked. I thought they were going to try for a field goal.

  365. Kenton Smith Says:

Best words to describe our new QB. MOXIE!

Defense is better, backup QB is better, we’re healthier.

We’re gonna win a bunch of games this year.

Gruden wishes he could coach Tucker, and run him into the ground

    ———–

He had Tucker… his name was Michael Pittman, and like Tucker, he’d run into the back of his offense lineman on every play. In fact Pittman is who Tucker most reminds me of.

I was never a fan of Pittman because he lacked vision, same issue I see with Tucker.

BUT, as I’ve said many times, as a #3 RB, I think Tucker is good. Also, at this point, I would keep Tucker and the extra $2.3M cap hit over Williams, since I don’t think there’s any chance another team will sign Williams. But I’d try to trade Tucker, try to get a 5th – but would settle for a 6th. I’d keep him over taking a 7th.

  367. Kenton Smith Says:

WBL. “it ain’t the calls, it’s the players”. Yep.

  368. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“Still haven’t forgiven him for what he did to Caddy huh? Im right there with ya“

Gruden can eat an eggplant for all Í care, even before that finding out his role in the Keyshawn-Sapp beef, poisoning your own well where you’re making your team. Guys get selective amnesia recalling the Gruden years, Í remember that BS vividly

  369. Bee Says:

Barber asked Gru why Zach is opening up the offense more with Daniels and Gru basically said Daniels has speed and that was it. Looks like they’re trusting him a little bit more. But I understand the vanilla play calling but Bake didn’t attempt a pass over 5 yards. The other 2 QBs did…

  370. Rod Munch Says:

Saskbucs – I’m busting balls with most of my comments, but it’s preseason, I wouldn’t take much from tonight’s game. The offense has looked sloppy, but there’s been a ton of 3rd and 4th stringers in after those first two Baker drives. The two Baker drives were sloppy, but not that many plays, no passes beyond the LOS, again, not much you can take from that.

  371. Obvious One Says:

Why is there ALWAYS giant GAPS in our defense??? D@@@mmn!

  372. Bee Says:

    WBL

Damn I forgot all about Gru’s part in the Sapp-Johnson beef. I recently saw a video of Keyshawn talking about it and he said Sapp has a problem with him, not the other way around. *shrug*

  373. Bee Says:

Why do the schedule makers leave an open week between the 3rd preseason game and the start of the season? They should just start the preseason a week later…

  374. OurYear Says:

Why didn’t Hurst play more? Hes not a starter and hasn’t really done anything in Preseason
Why didn’t Pyburn play more? He gone? Cut and back to college?
Why has Tucker moved behind Williams?

  375. Rod Munch Says:

I must say Gruden and Barber have gotten much better as the game went along. Barber is trying to do play-by-play, clearly not his thing, but Gruden has fallen right back into his color role after starting out a bit slow. Going to stink having Meyers back next week – man do I hate that bore and I’ll have the radio on instead.

  376. Oneilbuc Says:

Brownie is trash 🗑 but Daniel still won’t be the backup because he’s a threat to Baker and Bowles ain’t having that. Lol 😆

  377. Bucs 95 Says:

    Missed Loollllllllllllll

  378. Obvious One Says:

WBL, I wasn’t aware of some of what you’re saying but I didn’t pay as much attention back then as I do now but I Loved Caddy and Still have his signed helmet. I DO know gruden ran him into the ground though and I SURE DIDN’T APPRECIATE THAT! I didn’t mind seeing Gruden go come time back then. I STILL HAVE A BONE TO PICK with goofy over the player we lost due to the MISMANAGEMENT that WAS Gruden back then. Broke my heart.

    ———-

Changed it when they went to the 17 game season.

I hate it. They should have done what they did in the 1993 season and just had two bye weeks and get rid of that off week.

  380. Obvious One Says:

that week off was set up like that for roster cuts and rest in exchange for one less game.

Think first cuts are 8/30, it’s different from the 2-3 steps wave of cuts. Also gives teams time to surf the wire for talent.

  384. Bee Says:

    Rod

They had 2 bye weeks in 93???? WHAT? We need that now. That would improve the product so much. We used to be a proper country

  385. Bee Says:

Ahhhh….that makes about the empty week. Didn’t think about that.

    ———–

And 2 bye weeks would work way better now than it did back then since everyone has much easier access to out of market games. I’d love to have an extra week where I can just watch RedZone all day – plus you’d think the NFL could get even more money from their TV deals. I assume it’s a carrot they’re holding onto to offer the NFLPA when they try to force an 18-game schedule.

  390. Winny Testaverde Says:

Kam Johnson looking like a potential Karl Williams type of keeper after tonight.

  391. Obvious One Says:

I suppose my statement isn’t exactly true. There WAS an interception that made it possible. Besides that…

  392. Rod Munch Says:

They should ban kneel downs in the preseason. Come on, guys playing for their NFL lives and you’re taking a knee with 2 mins left. Bush league nonsense.

  393. HeartyDickerson Says:

    @RodMunch

Good call on Bucs evaluating Tucker. I think that might be is what is happening. Leadership is asking if a 3d string RB is worth $3M. Williams could be 90% effective for a fifth the price.

Which leads to the bigger question: instead of spending $55M on Baker, can we get 75% his production for $5.5M?

  394. Obvious One Says:

    I agree with Winny.

Kams looking pretty fly there. Let’s hope he’s more than a pre season warrior

  395. MadMax Says:

    GJ Bucs!!

  396. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

    OBVIOUS

Lots of hunger pains for me as a fan, not gonna lie. Teen me thought Caddy was going to literally carry us to another title eventually. What made it worse, was it was right around the time certain coaches started relying more on multi-RB usage rather than just having that 1 stud

  397. LouisFriend Says:

    Rod Munch Says:

    ********
Let’s just ban preseason. The Bucs made up there minds about the roster already. The joke is on fans for thinking there’s any suspense remaining.

  398. Lightningvinny1 Says:

Daniels is too good!! Can’t wait to see him play against players that will be on reg season NFL rosters ,, playing against 11 guys that made the actual NFL team could be a hair more difficult

  399. chad Says:

jalen looked good against third stringers, that’s great news, looks like he has some talent and he has a good arm and he’s mobile. mostly basic throws but not to shabby. definitely up in the air for qb 2 with the way he’s played in the pre season so far. would’ve liked to seen first team offense with a healthy line in the game to see what they could do

  400. Rod Munch Says:

    Final passer rating update:

    Daniels – 100.6
    Browning – 93.8
    Mayfield – 56.2

Is Baker in danger of not making the roster?

  401. chad Says:

yeah rod should probably just release baker and start jalen. i’d say send baker to the saints or falcons. that way this todd bowels defense can whoop up on him

  402. DBS Says:

They need to lose next week. No team has ever won all preseason games and won a Superbowl in the same season.

  403. Lightningvinny1 Says:

    Munch has good stats there!!!!
Here is one too on lifetime NFL passing yards
    Mayfield 28525
    Browning 2707
    Daniels 0

  404. Sam Says:

Rod Munch – keep it classy
