Tristan Wirfs Is Not Practicing For Third Consecutive Day

July 31st, 2026

Sad but happy sight on the Buccaneers practice field today.

All-World left tackle Tristan Wirfs is on the field watching practice but is not participating. Wirfs was not seen on Day 1 and Day 2 of practice, so perhaps him being visible today for Day 3 is a positive. Wirfs has been smiling and is not on crutches.

Todd Bowles said Wirfs injured his hamstring running on Tuesday, the day the Bucs reported for camp. The first practice was Wednesday.

You can see mighty Wirfs in the video below.

Training/medical staff sucks…slightly worried because hammys can be a problem all year…hopefully he sits out until the pads come on

    GO BUCS!!!!

  2. Kayla Says:

Remember at beginning of camp last season they said he’d be ready for Game 1? How’d that work out? Might as well start practicing Barton at LT again…

  3. StormyInFl Says:

Time to clean house in the training room.

  4. football 1 Says:

I believe the Bucs changed some of the medical staff?, strength conditioning personnel?.
Anyway hamstring issues on this team seem to be an ongoing problem, under training, These issues with proper training should be held to a minimum. Yes I don’t get it.

  5. Beeej Says:

It’s not like he needs the work

  6. Drunk Bucs Fan Says:

Not worried. If this was two weeks from now my opinion may be different.

But for right now I am 100% in the “Take the week off and be ready for pads” camp.

Chukwama has been playing in his place from what I gathered, and he’s been doing pretty well for a UDFA in year 2 that just started playing football in 2023.

  8. AquaBum Says:

Good. No point for him to be out there days after tweaking a hammy. Wirfs is a pro and doesn’t need to be worked out before the season starts

  9. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Every year they pull this to give guys days off. It’s to go easy on the guys who have proven themselves.

Meanwhile, it gives the new guys more quality practice.

  10. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

“Heat and humidity indirectly worsen hamstring issues by accelerating rapid fatigue, triggering painful dehydration cramps, and increasing overall physiological strain. While high temperatures do not directly tear muscle fibers, they impair how muscles fire and recover.”

That’s why hamstring issues are a problem in Tampa. It’s not the medical staff.

  11. Kgh4life Says:

It’s a precaution, there’s no need to rush him back so soon. People on here are insane.

  12. Fanofdabucs Says:

I’m much more concerned with Morrison given hos history. But the good news is Morrison is out there today practicing.

  13. RVATom Says:

Wonder if there’s a aspect to some.s9rt.of quiet support for Baker?

  14. ModHairKen Says:

Maybe he’s also getting mentored by Suh?

  15. Hodad Says:

Bonzai, if only they had an indoor practice facility to use where they could safely practice from the heat. What’s wierdly funny to is how they hold their press conferences outdoors when they have a bigger AC conference room right inside where their lockers are anyway. Instead they sweat with no towel staring into the sun swatting flies, while lawnmowers, and all kinds of noice makes it impossible to hear the questions being asked. Very strange, don’t know what their aversion is about doing business inside. Keeping that big Glazer shed AC cooled with no one using it is criminal. Subjecting reporters, and players to remain outside for questioning after a hot practice makes no sense either.

  16. Mickman Says:

I think he is being a hold in for Baker support. They are very tight

  17. Mickman Says:

Showing baker and Vita support doing a hold in

  18. mj Says:

we don’t need him till september bubble wrap him he’ll be fine

  19. MadMax Says:

Careful Tristan, they’ll be low balling you next!!

  20. Marine Buc Says:

    LOL!

    Oh please.

    T. Wirfs will do what he needs to do to get that 10 year bag.

    After that?

He might take the advice of his former mentor Ali Marpet…

Get out – while the gettin is good.

  21. Will Says:

Let him sit out, we need him healthy
