Three Major Injuries Punishing The Carolina Panthers
July 26th, 2026The Panthers are a losing football team and have been since their last winning season in 2017.
However, they are an arch rival of Tampa Bay and the reigning NFC South landfill champs.
What a country!
But please don’t ask Joe to pretend the Panthers are special. Their quarterback is weak and their best 2025 running back — Rico Dowdle with 1,076 rushing yards and 297 yards receiving — now plays for the Steelers.
And now the Panthers have two new major injuries reported last week. Joe waited on sharing these to see if more info would emerge.
Bottom line, ironman right tackle Taylor Moton, who has missed five starts in the last nine years, is out indefiitely with a blood clot and will miss the start of the regular season. Carolina starting left tackle Ikem Ekwonu blew out his knee in their January playoff game and the team announced last week that it hopes he’ll be back at some point in the regular season.
Also, emerging edge rusher Nic Scourton (8 starts and 5 sacks as a rookie last season) tore his ACL during the Panthers’ first practice of the summer on Thursday.
If games really are won in the trenches, it’s safe to say the Panthers have a problem. Carolina’s first four games are against the Bears, Falcons, Browns and Lions. The first Bucs-Panthers game of 2026 is in late October in Charlotte.

Classy.
Hope the players recover so we get full strength competition
Go Bucs
July 26th, 2026 at 4:48 pm
Lol the team that won the division last year is the losing team. I satyed away for a couple of months but i see still the same kiss butt writing around here. Lets see what you will say when we talk about draft by the end of october.
July 26th, 2026 at 5:02 pm
Bucs haven’t made it thru their first practice yet. Haven’t made it past preseason either. We also have injury prone Kancey. I won’t be making fun of anyone.
July 26th, 2026 at 5:26 pm
I feel badly for those guys, as a human being. The Panthers are going to tank big time this year. Canales may get canned.
July 26th, 2026 at 5:52 pm
So if Brice Young struggles we have to give him the same excuses Baker has been getting every time he has a bad season or game? But watch Brice Young will not get those excuses on here if he struggles he will just be a bad quarterback lol 😂.
July 26th, 2026 at 5:56 pm
Blood clots are no joke. I wouldn’t wish that on anybody.
July 26th, 2026 at 6:02 pm
I may be wrong but Canales gives me Tony Robbins vibes. I’m not really sure how good he is as a football coach.
July 26th, 2026 at 6:09 pm
Just wait. The Bucs will have injuries of their own by the time we play the Bengals in week one.
There will be ample opportunities to make excuses for the poorly schemed defense and a less than clutch QB that is already overpaid.
It’s football folks. Part of the game is injuries, a huge part.
Most teams try to hire capable coaches for just such an occasion.
However, in the NFC South you can scrape by with the bottom of the barrel.

This is a bad look for you Joe. What? Joe didn’t wish these players ill or hit them with a bat. –Joe Those hurt players are living their dream playing in the NFL just like our Bucs players. The Panthers had injuries last year too and still won the division. I hope the Bucs will beat the snot out of them by playing good ball, not because their players are going down.
July 26th, 2026 at 6:38 pm
I wish no ill feel for the Panthers. I would rather face them full strength. The Bucs have not put on the pads yet. We usually are not good with injuries either. Let’s see what happens with Kancy and Morrison both are injury prone. I would not bd shocked to see either with an injury before training camps ends.We may have our own injury problems so let’s not wish anyone to have any injuries.
July 26th, 2026 at 6:46 pm
i like the panthers when they are not competing with the bucs head to head or gaining ground in the division, bryce is a good qb. i won’t be dancing on their injuries, tmac is a ready good wr, hope those guys get healthy
July 26th, 2026 at 6:59 pm
Don’t worry. Kancey usually makes it a game or two before retiring to the tub and T-shirt.
July 26th, 2026 at 7:28 pm
This news helps but I do not see the Bucs with more than 8 wins. I hope I am wrong but I have another team now as well as the Bucs. Glazers should of planked Todd Bowles end of last season. So now I have another team–serves them right! 😀

Oneilbuc said – “So if Brice Young struggles we have to give him the same excuses Baker has been getting every time he has a bad season or game?”
Apparently you don’t know the difference between offense and defense. Baker was dealing with historic injuries to the offensive line and receiver room. Bryce Hall’s team will be missing some defensive starters.
I’ll leave it at that without a major personal attack.
July 26th, 2026 at 7:36 pm
My only problem with the article is citing the Panthers as an “arch rival”. A division rival, sure. The Saints are an arch rival and I’d stretch out on a limb to say that Philly is more of an arch rival than the Panthers are, historically.
July 26th, 2026 at 8:02 pm
I hurt my back yesterday doing a puzzle. Most of us would be injury prone before we made it to game day. Get well soon panthers. Keep improving that record so we can get that shiny new coach!
July 26th, 2026 at 8:13 pm
They must’ve been laughing at us last year because they have the same injuries that we had last year.
July 26th, 2026 at 8:39 pm
Thanks for the update Joe, spitting facts as always. Panthers stink
July 26th, 2026 at 8:59 pm
Wow!!! Christmas comes early for the Bucs!! Both tackles and an edge rusher out. Poor Dave Canales is going to get fired after this season. Saints are not going to be a push over in this division.
July 26th, 2026 at 9:01 pm
Scotty. The Saint arch rival is the Falcons not the bucs. Go ask Saints fans who they rather lose to the bucs or the Falcons and watch what team they pick ? They’ll going to tell you the Falcons bucs meadi push narratives and you guys fall for it every time lol 😆. Just like the on going promotion for Baker all of them say the same thing and make up the same excuses for Baker. They have been saying Baker to this fan base since 2023 with the fake quarterback competition. But this year the injuries excuses ain’t going to cut it this year or less he’s not playing.

Sailing Baker
July 26th, 2026 at 9:04 pm
The team that took away Clifton Smith from us
July 26th, 2026 at 9:08 pm
I don’t understand the comments to Joe about making light of the situation? Where’s the joke or incorrect info?? This news is obviously relevant to the Bucs.
Keep the content coming Joes.
July 26th, 2026 at 9:14 pm
Panthers’ll be alright, these aren’t mid-season injuries and they’ll have the rest of camp to scour the wire and streets for some semblance of replacement talent. It’d probably be wiser as Buc fans to remain mindful with who they still have on hand rather than who they’re missing.
July 26th, 2026 at 10:21 pm
saints going to be a problem. moore has an offense now where he can do things like he did with the eagles by adding jordan tyson and etienne.
July 26th, 2026 at 10:30 pm
Oneilbuc. I didn’t say the Bucs were the Saints’ arch rival. I said the Saints were the Bucs’ arch rival. Never heard any trash from Bucs players about any team except the Saints. Ask Baker. Seem to recall his last sentence in the QB series was F@%^ the Saints!
July 26th, 2026 at 10:31 pm
Feel bad for the players.
Joe put this up for comment. It’s been all over the NFL news. Tough situation.
Along with Oxycondomns above, I commented towards the end of the season — the Saints are going to be the divisional opponent to beat.
July 26th, 2026 at 10:32 pm
Got to give the Panthers credit, landfill occupants or not. They beat the Rams in week 14 in a game that mattered and then took them down to the wire in the wildcard round and had them on the ropes. They are feisty and well coached all around. I wouldn’t take them lightly. Hopefully we are not reduced to hoping that injuries sabotage them.
July 26th, 2026 at 10:36 pm
Oneil all you are here for is to start a fight. The article had nothing to do with him. Go play with you Jameis doll.
July 26th, 2026 at 11:26 pm
Sucks to hear about injuries already even if it’s a rival well unless it’s the AINTS

I hurt mine yesterday lifting my toddler grandson to put him to bed. Sucks getting old.
July 26th, 2026 at 11:31 pm
I predicted last year that Cannales woulg get canned this year.
July 27th, 2026 at 12:53 am
I do not want to see any player injured, and I hope that they fully recover.
The Bucs play the Panthers weeks 7 and 12. Morton should be fine by then, but the other guys will likely be out longer.
July 27th, 2026 at 6:04 am
Bad karma we old lol
July 27th, 2026 at 10:27 am
@DBS,, Save your breath..That person dismisses Independence Day! As he has the freedom to post anything he wants ..Juneteenth = entitlement!
July 27th, 2026 at 12:06 pm
The panthers drafted OT Monroe Freeling in the first round this year, plus signed Rasheed Walker, a young tackle who has started 48 games for the Packers. I am not sure their offensive line won’t be better this year without the two injured guys. Rico D seems pretty easy to replace, too.

The NFL Players Association is investigating the Panthers regarding Nic Scourton’s injury, to see if the team was following no-live contact guidelines.
The NFL Players Under the current collective bargaining agreement, teams aren’t allowed to have any live contact for the first five days of training camp, and running and conditioning are the only activities players are allowed to participate in on the field.
