Fourth Major Injury Hits Panthers Hard
July 31st, 2026The Panthers, the NFC South champs, have been dealt another serious blow.
The Bucs’ have a couple of grumpy big-name players; the Panthers have four major injuries.
Carolina is hoping to post its first winning season since 2017. With each passing week, that seems unlikely.
Today, Carolina put rookie wide receiver Chris Brazzell on injured reserve. He’s done for the season and headed for knee surgery. Carolina doesn’t have the receiver depth or quality the Bucs do, so Brazzell was expected to contribute right away.
Also, emerging edge rusher Nic Scourton (8 starts and 5 sacks as a rookie last season) tore his ACL during the Panthers’ first practice of training camp.
If your keeping score at home, Panthers ironman right tackle Taylor Moton, who has missed five starts in the last nine years, is out indefiitely with a blood clot. Carolina starting left tackle Ikem Ekwonu blew out his knee in their January playoff game. He’s expected back weeks into the regular season.
And if you were looking at selecting Rico Dowdle in your upcoming fantasy draft after he had 1,076 rushing yards and 297 receiving yards for Carolina last season, remember, Dowdle now plays for the Steelers.
Wacky times in Charlotte.

Injuries can be random and people can throw their hands up and say there’s nothing you can do. However some teams are prone to injuries year after year, like the 49ers and Panthers. Last season the Panthers OL was injured more than the Bucs. We all know about the 49ers. The Bucs need to be better preventing some types of injuries. Like hammies. I

So now the Panthers fan pages are going to have their fans screaming about the training staff And the strength and conditioning guys in Carolina. Doesn’t matter how the injuries occurred, it’s the damn training staff/ strength and conditioning guys. Just ask our fans.

Hey Steven007. Did you several key members of the Bucs training, strength and conditioning staff left and joined the Panthers this off-season season?

You’re projecting, outside of the halls of JBF nobody blames trainers for injuries they cannot prevent.
It’s literally one of the most my numbing thing to read on here, people questioning the team of Health/medical professionals for player injuries.
It’s like blaming your doctor for you being a diabetic or blaming your dentist because your wisdom teeth need to be yanked out. Nobody thinks like that.

Hey O’neilbuc, Cameron Jordan always has stated thta the ATL are the Aints biggest rivals but it seems like the Bucs and Jason Licht have rented space in the dullard’s head. Anyhow, given that the Panthers have seemingly inhrited the pre-season injury bug from the Bucs along with some former Bucs strength and conditioning staff, this division is wide open. The ATL probably does not have a QB, the Bucs have Todd Bowles which is like a 2 or 3 win handicap considering that you know he will make poor decisions which will turn at least 2 or 3 wins into losses and Carolina has a first place schedule and lots of question marks, the Saints could be in the mix. Heck in the march to 9 wins, any team can win this division but I would like the Bucs chances better if Todd was not calling plays for the D and the Glazers/Licht would not be going Culverhouse while dealing with guys like Vea…… My prediction: 9-8 takes the division, maybe even another 8-9 via tie breaker.

As far as BUCS injuries go you all left out Benjamin Morrison. I don’t blame you all though. I kinda forget he’s on the team myself.

And here come the Saints, quietly rebuilding behind a 26 yr old QB with a 4 yr $10 million contract. Meanwhile, everyone who wears a C on their jersey for the Bucs, are making rookies and young players scratch their heads while they plant the “quit on your team” seed
